Steam or GoG or Amazon for me. I haven't used GGate, and don't really want to. Will be getting it from some other stores.

GGate is good, u dont need a client like steam or origin.

What's so bad about Steam anyway besides the "oh god it's DRM!" spook? It's a lot more convenient and better designed than GFWL/XLive, Bioware Social, UPlay, R* Social Club and all that other crap some publishers try to cram in their games. The advantages it provides (especially for multiplayer games like this one, for both players and developers since it's free for them) far outweigh the "Oh no it's a client! That I have to RUN!". I mean sure, GoG is great but it's a niche platform that covers only a small part of what PC gaming has to offer.

And yeah, GamersGate is a good service, I don't see the hindrance here except getting an acount, picking up your Steam code and voilà. It doesn't matter anyway, since this will be available in a lot of places.

I should clarify I'm just trying to understand the point of view, having to register a new account as a big no-no and the "Steam sucks" notion from 2005 (which it did back then) still seem to be a thing for some people. And it shows a lot in angry Amazon reviews, forums and comment sections all over the internet.

The only reason I can think of for them needing steam is PS3 compatibility. As far as I know steamworks is the only option for that.

Did they add DRM to GG's AE? Because I got it from them when PC AE was released and there's no additional DRM AFAIK, game boots directly without issues.

Any news on when the consoles will be getting these colors as DLC?

Oh sweet. As soon as it hits Steam I'm pre-ordering. :D To bad the bonus are 4 colors for a character I'm most probably going to use the least. :P

No, the GG downloader doesn't add any extra DRM to the games, you just have to log in to your GamersGate account once so it can know you actually own the game. After that you can keep the game installer.

You're going to have DRM for any multiplayer game anyway.

#15 SF4/Super/AE always has DRM. GFWL is DRM itself. Non-Steam versions also have Securom.

@Ghost How is SG dead? It's doing fine, its not as big as AE2012, UMvC3, or KoF13, but besides those three games it is probably the best out there and still tons of fun. I'm sure EVO will be great.

He is just a troll, don't acknowledge him. Skullgirls has been doing great in majors entrants and yes not as popular as AE or UMvC3 at the moment, they have been regularly getting Par KoF or a little above them in entrants. Alot of people are holding off the game generally because

1. EvO is dividing their attention if they are not planning for entering side tourney

2. The patch which will pretty much feel/play different which will drop some time after EvO does not give them an incentive to play at the moment

@Dan_CiTi Nah I agree with Ghost, SG has already become niche. Most people expected it to turn out that way though. It just doesn't have a lasting appeal with it's small cast for a team based game and pretty much everyone using the same strategy. (Spam Double assist)

If it weren't for reverge sponsoring pretty much every SG tournament I doubt we would even see the amount of entrants that it does get.

The patch may breath new life into the game or maybe once they finally get DLC characters out there. But then again with Persona4 and the re-release of GG coming there really isn't much reason to play this game.

That second one... Parasol as Kula Diamond from KOF. Awesome.

eh? fighter games as a whole is a pretty niche video game genre in the big picture if you want to go that far so thats a given, so what else is new? Yeah because we don't see sponsors and other incentives for other fighter games to help out their tourney entry numbers >.>. Skullgirs plays differently then P4U or GG so I see thats terrible logic to drop Skullgirls just for that.
