GameStop it is then(I can just imagine the more "innocent" female cast in bunny outfits -_-).Been waiting for details on Pre-order bonuses. Hyped on what characters gonna be revealed and the next movie. Hope its something that explains the plot of the game

Why only female characters? Why can't they just give Bass Armstrong and American flag banana hammock?

I don't think I'll buy it thanks to this, they could've at least TRIED to not be so obvious about it by giving make characters something too, but nope, it's all about the bewbs.

More then likely they will give male characters dlc costumes (each character in the game is gonna get 6 costumes i believe) This is just some of the pre-order stuff.

On a side-note I might have to pass on the collector edition and wait for the swimsuits to hit dlc. I don't know what new soundtrack will have and I'm not even sure if they have character-based themes in DoA 5 like they did in the past. Always felt the DoA series did well with their character themes and I will be disappointed if they don't do this. Still want EIN to pop up in this game

#3/#7 What? If you compared the models now to how they were in the past they were really tamed about it(Kasumi, Ayane, and Cristie especially got "nerfed"). You act like this is the first time a fighter game series tried to have fan service dlc (ignores Capcom,Arc,Namco). I find it humorous how you find non-gameplay changing COSMETICS, that you are not forced to buy is something to turn you off a game. Sorry, but I would have taken what you posted more seriously if these were CHARACTER dlc (which Team Ninja recently disconfirmed thankfully ^-^) or some other game mechanic add on (gems).

#5
Brad Wong was on the leaked list when the Alpha Demo was released to the public. Take that however you will, but its most likely MOST of the doa4 cast is back (Safe to say the Spartan character is out)

#8
This is most likely time exclusive content and will most likely drop as cosmetic dlc in xbl/psn after some time has passed. Yeah this kind of thing is common in games in general not just fighters -_-

True, they could have just thrown in some male character costumes to balance out the equation, but hey....Sex and violence is Americas(if not the world) past-time on entertainment what can you do...

That announcement was made last Friday, so it will be this week not next week.
I preferred they make a character rather than waste time on those costumes ):

The most obvious choices for the character reveals: Sarah, Bass, and possibly Lisa...duh. All fighting in the ring. The movie would probably be Tina and Bass.

The hell? i don't thing this is a girl issue in general, but more so on your girlfriend. My club has female members and we would sometime pop in DoA 4 (which that game was EASILY more "perverted" then whatever DoA 5 has currently shown) And they find it hilarious and just have a blast. This is just a video-game in the end. These fake feminists need to wake up and smell the coffee.

i wish they would put an item thats collect-able worthy in the collector's ed. Maybe a 6" figure or something. The only thing i see thats good is the artbook, but thats just me being a sucker for artbooks.

I am so glad that this was finally revealed. I was beginning to think that the US wasn't going to get one. I pre-ordered the 360 and PS3 version. Im thinking i'm gonna upgrade them both to Collector's Editions since it will save me the time and money in the long run of buying the DLC and other stuff anyway. To me, it sounds like a good deal, Im glad they aren't packing in a statue , as those seem to break before I even open them (at least mine do).

Doopliss said on June 25, 2012 at 1:24 p.m.

@9: I've never seen fan service in an FG done so... obviously and shamlessly. It's distasteful. I don't play female characters in FGs most of the time (The exception is SG, since that game actually has a real female grappler), so why would I buy a game that treats it's non-female characters like trash? And better =/= good.

#21
Doopliss said on June 25, 2012 at 1:34 p.m.

It's worth mentioning that I wasn't that excited about this game in the first place.

#22
SeriphAngel said on June 25, 2012 at 1:37 p.m.

#21: The game was delibrately made for a male fan base and the only objective "was" for this game to overly sexualize their female cast. However, in the end the game was more accepted by a female based crowd over the mens. Not all of the garments are positively sensual and this variation so far has the less revealing of the garment, and even has lowered the size of the womens breast. Male characters are always considered the role makers so it is good that this game bases its story around the female cast especially Helena who is the least sexualized of the cast.

#23
SeriphAngel said on June 25, 2012 at 1:42 p.m.

It is humurous to read people's complaints about swimsuits when in this day and age most males garments are already positively tight, shirtless, or shows their bulge without even a second thought. Unless you all want the dude to have swimming trunks or thongs there is not more left to show on men since they show everything all ready. Player 3 Jan Lee costume go!!! Besides the swimsuits were in the game since part 1 if anyone actually took the time to unlock the costumes like I have. They were also in 2 ultimate and obviously some are from VolleyBall. Yes been around since the beginning, do your research.

#26
SeriphAngel said on June 25, 2012 at 1:45 p.m.

@#25: Okay yeah...not those. Those were actually the swimsuits that could have been left out of the game for they are not possibly to wear due to the construction. Besides they are neither appealing nor slutty. They are just gaudy and make the female characters unattractive.

Probably gameplay footage for Bass, Sarah and two other characters?

Lawl why isn't the swimsuit costumes for ALL of the cast?! -_- ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, anyway Insta buy for CE. Can't wait for this game to come out! Here's hoping Jann Lee will be revealed next! <3

#29
cadnexus said on June 25, 2012 at 2:26 p.m.

We already seen Bass and Sarah, so just revealing their game play would be quite bland. It has to be Bass and Sarah tag teaming against Mila and Rig. Mila is probably... my guess a female Latin boxer, while Rig is another big guy possibly even bigger than Bass.

TheGuardian07 said on June 25, 2012 at 2:29 p.m.

TomCat78 said on June 25, 2012 at 4:02 p.m.

I have no problem with titillation if the game is good and the focus of the game play does not lead to objectifying or dis-empowering women. OK so there is a little objectification here but they are make believe fantasy warriors. The positive is; they are beautiful 3D models and they are portrayed as elite combat specialists. you cant get more empowered than that.

#35
FightDirty said on June 25, 2012 at 4:04 p.m.

Yeh, I may have to upgrade my pre-order as well.

Girls in bikinis = the ultimate good

Some of you guys act like you've never seen skimpy clothes before. Very drôle.

Have never actually played DOA before. Hope the gameplay isn't crap.

#36
kakashiisagod said on June 25, 2012 at 4:06 p.m.

People just need to chill. Personally I think games like MK that feature gruesome fatalities and brutal gameplay are more "offensive" than bikinis. bikinis are not the core gameplay, dont like em? Dont download them. Why is that hard? If they dont make money they wont spend money to make these types of costumes. I work on the beach, in California, I hardly consider a bikini "perverse". Its a DOA game, it has skimpy outfits, deal with it, it sells. I have several female friends that love to play DOA, the skimpy outfits to them are more hilarious than offensive. how many men do you know that look like Ein? I hardly take his outfits to offense. people need to stop whining, the game is gonna be great, Im glad so many of these are FREE, as I was gonna get the collectors edition for the metal case and other stuff anyway.

I can't talk for anyone else, but this has nothing to do with being a feminist. I just don't want to play a game with this kind of T&A fixation. I've never bought a DoA game before, but I thought about giving this one a chance since they said they didn't focus as much on it anymore.

I feel uncomfortable during Cammy's intro in SFIV and Hugo & Poison's intro in SFxT too, but at least those games doesn't use it as a major seeling point. Dunno, I guess I'm just kinda prudish.

Dude just chill, it's just costumes (bikinis or whatever).
I doubt they'll do male swimsuits or some sort but it's still early to say they won't do anything either.

Like kakashiisagod said, you guys are taking this too seriously or if you really feel uncomfortable perhaps you shouldn't be playing this game and others in the first place (although the game is not yet rated lol).

#43
icejohn said on June 25, 2012 at 7:22 p.m.

So let me get this straight from what im seeing from some of you.
When two of the biggest 3d fighters of today, promote their female fighters and dlc bikinis.
soul calibur:
http://thesilentchief.com/wp-content/...

http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__c...

virtua fighter:
http://oi50.tinypic.com/iqj7rn.jpg

Nobody so much as bats an eyelash because...pfft...their known to be serious fighters so its ok, but when a developer claims they are taking the game seriously and thus far...have shown they have!(with the exception of Tina, which is the d.o.a equivalency of soul calibur's ivy)

Well suddenly they are the only ones doing it, and are scandalous and immoral for treating their females in such a sexualized way.(despite other companies doing it too, if not worst.."cough" skullgirls).Plus anybody who likes it,even though your straight, is also scandalous and immoral.

Yeah i think some of you guys really need to get off your high horse and stop taking this too seriously.
If you can take seeing cammy's backside and lili's chest every intro and skullgirls constant panty shots and soul calibur and VF constant random nude battles, you can take this game,i promise you won't be scared for life ok...smh

#44
FightDirty said on June 25, 2012 at 7:26 p.m.

@54
IDK if id say impossible, but I think people are taking this games style way to serious. The problem is everyone is offend nowadays both men and women. Im sorry to burst most of your bubbles, but this kind of stuff sells. It sells very well. In fact one could argue that characters like Ryu or Ken are stereo types/ unattainable examples of males themselves. Dont even get me started on Guile...

@56 Ivy is an example of in game perverse/risque/whatever-you-want-to-call-it characters. Not to mention, create a fighter. In fact did you know that the character Mai from KOF was actually used (image wise) as inspiration for Kasumi (G4 Icons documentary). I consider Kasumi to be more reserved than Mai though. Regardless, it sounds like no one is gonna convince you to try/buy this game. It really comes down to what is or isnt acceptable to you personally.

I encourage all of you to check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71-DZR... its a documentary on DOA and Tecmo. Its very interesting, and for those of you who don't really understand the franchise it may answer some of your questions. its a good 20mins, but its very interesting.

#58
FightDirty said on June 26, 2012 at 11:58 a.m.

@ #55

As hard as it may be to imagine, guys get turned on by attractive women & images of attractive women. It's called testoterone & horny men. We are everywhere. Deal with it.

Concerning DOA - I don't plan to play it because I think it will be a solid fighter, because I don't. I want to try it out because I hope it will be fun to play and for the eye-candy. I'm sure that I'm not the only one. At least I'm honest about it.

If this hurts your tender sensibilities, find it immoral, or think I'm a mean &evil male because of it then tough cookies.

#59
icejohn said on June 26, 2012 at 12:09 p.m.

With all due respect, I think you might be playing sfxt to much to even notice.
While i can understand why you wouldn't run into much of this in VF:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfbUL8...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdJs4H...

Because you would have to have had bought the full game to even be able to see the costumes.

But if you can honestly say to me that 30-40% of your battles in soul calibur don't look like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAQ3ZK...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPZF2d...

Than i must be living in THAT part of the states.

skullgirls...pfft...ahahah

As you wish. I'm really more of a Tekken, Third Strike, SF4 guy myself. I only play games like MK, MvC3, Strekken, and soon DOA5 for the amusement of it. I try not too take things too seriously and say stuff mostly to jest.

Keep up the good fight - and if necessary; fight dirty.
