I've kinda been out of the loop recently so forgive this question; was Capcom's "big announcement" this SFxT info?

Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Editon v. 2012 and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, those are the only fighters from Capcom I will support.
I can't believe they actually think people wants to buy and play this..

Who's Ono? They are obviously tired of the hate for this game, so is like they hate the game too.

Fun game but I don't feel like playing it, maybe I need to get out of the negative cloud that it's surrounded by.

This have been the worst E3 for Capcom ever. The "DLC" characters were suppose to be the "big news" for them at E3 but they got completely ignored and everyone knew about the characters even before the game release thanks to the DLC (disc locked content) fraud.

Capcom tried to avoid data transfer fees from Sony and MS and included everything in the disc. Trying to save money they ruined their reputation :S. If the characters were not in the disc everyone now will be hype about the new characters and happy about the DLC news.

The DLC fraud, the glitches, unbalanced gameplay and lack of quickly updates are really hurting this game.

They can say that 1.4 million copies sold are not a failure but I know more people that did not bought the game thanks to the disc locked content that people that have the game.

All they had to do was think about their customers before their profit margins, leave it off the disc, release it on time, don't lie, ANYTHING. This would've been the hypest announcement ever.

So sad.

What happen to Ono? I feel sorry for him as he did a great job for SF4. Looks to me like Capcom kicks him out of Sf vs Tk after the result... or am I wrong? (I hope I am)

The on disc thing was the last straw, the game came out with just too many flaws/controversies.

Capcom lying about 360 co-op (a feature which was heavily advertised), stupid assist gems breaking the game, glitches & infinites, lackluster gameplay (time-overs, turtlefest toward the end of the round, pandora being utterly useless), DLC stupidity (yeah let's just lock colors while Soul Calibur 5 gives you the whole freaking photohop table), PC version being totally unplayable online (still unpatched, almost a month has passed).

Let's be honest, when you got all of the above, it's pretty much impossible for your product to be a success.

If this hadn't 'Street Fighter' in its name people wouldn't have even thought about buying it.

In my opinion, capcom is releasing the "new" content so slow, the game is dying, they need to release all faster

They aren't putting in much effort, and its showing now. I'd feel like I was ripped off if i didn't already get the game on sale just to try it out. Its not just the disc-locked content, its everything. I hate to sound negative about it, but its all true.

I'm glad I didn't get excited about the E3 announcement. I think myself(and many others) were hoping that there was going to be this huge turn around at E3. A big announcement to revive the game and make it appeal to everyone. But nope, it was announcing characters that we already knew about(and we all own) and there's an iPad version. E3 was the last hope for the game so it's safe to say the game is dead. I honestly was hoping that Capcom would do something awesome because so this game doesn't become a total failure but they still insist on passing it off as DLC...meh.
GGs Capcom.

I remember when Ono would have these big announcments and we would wait for these big events for them to disclose them. I would literally tune in every day to see whats up, some leak, some tiny shread of info.

Now I am not as excited anymore. Im actually more scared of what crazy plan they got lined up for us in terms of Figthers. Seths "fireworks" as he described does'nt settle well on my stomach.

To be fair E3 as a whole was terrible. I seen like 3 games I actually cared about. Watch Dogs, Last of Us, and Tekken Tag 2. Sorry but this year is gonna suck in gaming, even for fighters.

Oh right if the new characters hadn't been exposed on the console versions and already common knowledge on Vita this would have been a big announcement. Too bad Capcom is stumbling from one mistake to another. Hopefully they can get back to being a decent gaming company again before they release anymore incomplete cash-ins like SFxT. If not then the ability to block is gonna be DLC for Darkstalkers 4 with Fierce, Roundhouse and EX moves being released as further DLC among other basics -_-;

@21 co sign!

everyone moaning about the locked content looool bloody broke kids! even though the chars have been seen and tested if they told me they were releasing them in a week i would of went nuts!!!!!! i dont care if its locked lol

i would of bought sf4 even if 'super' was locked on the disc, both sf4 and sfxt was worth my £40 now i see people crying about locked content loool bloody kids lol the game needs tweaks but as it stands now the game is sick if you've took time to take the game in. maybe its because im good at the game thats why i enjoy it, im still a biggggg fan of sf4 but i battered that game for like 4 years lol and sfxt is the closest game to date that has similarities with a bag of new stuff to learn, i tried mvc3 but i sucked at it lol so left it alone but i can say hand on heart that mvc3 is a good game regardless

there is a real passion, love or hate for this game, from time 80% of the first comments are hate shows that, i hate tekken games period, and didnt like mvc3 but the last thing im gonna do is go to a post regarding that game and right up hate loooooool thats like a boy constantly taking the mick out of a girl he says he doesnt like loooool hmmmm lol

i would say 80% of people that play this game actually love it! online is packed even though theres a bag load of fighters out, ranked and endless are peak! 80% of my friends that played sf4 have now converted the other 20% have tried it liked it but due to their mains not being that great they decided to stick with sf4 or they feel they have put to much into sf4 to now start training for a new game... me personally i killed sf4 and needed something new and sfxt was perfect

give this game 18 months and i promise you this game will be sicko!!! not everyone will play it as there are other games to people preferences sf4 mvc3 and a load of new fighters now... but the people who will take time to learn this game will have a flipping blast....

Just because people are disagreeing with you it doesn't mean they are kids and broke. Frankly I am close to 30 and have a job. While I don't moan about this game as much as many other people do I have to say what Capcom did is a true slap in the face, all of it compounded with the way they are just ignoring the issue.
Fighting games have always been an even playing field in comparison to most other modern day games, no matter what no one would have an advantage over one another unlike other games (first ones that come to mind are FPSs which give you better weapons and point multipliers as a pre order incentive)But this now seems to have gone out the window with the introduction of gems.
Now don't get me wrong I love gems, they make the game fun, but some are hardly balanced and do spoil the game, and on top of this there are gems that you have to pay for that offer you a different way to activate and a better advantage depending on what type of player you are. That is just charging you to get an advantage and it is not what fighting games were about at all.
Now lets add to this the fact that this game came out with bugs that really destroyed the experience, and then the patch they distributed caused another game breaking bug. And despite them rushing to release this game they still had time to make the extra DLC characters, their intros, outros (I hope that's a word), language tracks, trials, hell even the chance to play the in the main arcade game is there as well as all the colours and quick combos (UGH!).
So Capcom definitely put in a lot of time and effort into putting content in the disc they never planned on letting you have once you purchased it, some of the stuff had the ability to alter the gameplay, but they did not bother to put in extra time and effort instead to make sure the game functioned properly. That is the reason why people are pissed, and if you wonder why there are so many people that feel entitled to come here and "troll" well I would imagine it is because they actually love these kinds of games (some of them may be trolls I agree but I am sure others...), they are just a tad upset that Capcom would sacrifice the high quality they have maintained since SF4 to basically s**t all over their fans and make a few extra bucks, even though steps like this bring the fighting game genre one step closer to shrivelling up and dying.

One last thing, since you are talking about "kids" being the ones that are whining, let me offer my opinion also regarding people like you who are willing to put up and also enjoy the idea of having this content locked from them only to be sold at a premium; and then offer their self-important, superior, smug opinion everywhere. And it is just this picture :

did you feel your £40 was worth the game? imo i thought it was a nice buy im having loads of fun
i dont care if the dlc chars are on the disc locked tbh they did that to save money and make the next release easier
as for gems i havent bought any and i wont, i know people that have bought gems and they've said it hasn't given them an advantage, the only problem with the gems are the assists ones being OP which im sure they will patch

i guess the fgc are a big neeky for me when it comes to money and principles all i care about is the damn game and so far i feel my purchase has been worth it, the main issue around the game is balance which will be dealt with but as it is there are a lot of s tier at the moment which i can work with but yes the balancing is needed

Well tbh it was £35 pounds to me but I get your point, it was an ok purchase, but certainly nowhere near as good as my purchase of SF4 or SSF4 or even the arcade edition.
I understand that they kept the characters in the disc to save money and tbh that makes sense. However this could have been handled in a much better way, instead of being upfront about it they decided to hide it and let the community find out on their own. While you may be ok with waiting for them to patch its flaws eventually you have to remember we did pay for a complete game (locked items aside), not a broken one.
Fact is this game was released with the purpose of milking a consumer out of more money, with the emphasis of making a good game coming second, that is what makes this a tragedy for fans of the genre, instead of spending more money on QA testing they spent it on adding more items to simply lock from the consumer and to imbalance what could have been a fantastic game.
You may also think that the gems are not imbalanced but that is perhaps because the regular gems are suited more towards your playstyle or because (and I am not intending to offend, this is a complete assumption) you have no experience on the bonus (as small as that may be) some of the bought gems can offer you.
I can agree that the FGC can get pretty geeky and overly entitled, I will not lie about that, and unfortunately the loudest voices are the ones that complain with the most obnoxious and non constructive criticism "THIS GAME SUCKS", "SUPER GEM FIGHTER LOL!", etc...
But the fact is this game has been a complete and utter mess, perhaps you can be happy with a substandard product and even happier with the ability to spend more money on said substandard product when all you have been offered is the reassurance of "wait and see"
But for most others this is an incomplete game shown itself to be broken from the start and designed to lock content out. I am sure that most fans of this game (if it still has any) would have gladly traded all these added characters and gems for the chance of having a more complete and working game without so many bugs. And I am sure that after having experienced the fine game this title could have been, then they would have gladly parted with their cash for a chance to extend its gameplay with extra characters.
But Capcom instead thought "f**k the QA testing, lets use this time to see how much more money we can make out of this one"

You cant really compare sfxt to super as super was the 2nd instalment but yes sf4 felt more of a complete game compared to sfxt but the time put into both games are totally different.

I dont think capcom spent their time making dlc over balancing the game, there are people who will be appointed different roles, it was more of a time issue regarding the balancing.

I dont get what you mean by broken? are you talking about the rolento glitch? if so then yes this is a big mess but please bare in mind the game wasn't release like this it was a update that messed it up.

Baring the glitch i dont really see the game broken, the assist gems would probably be the next big thing but tbh 90% of B+ players do not use them thats from what i have seen online now and then i get a player who is on about 8000bp thats using it but thats more of a one off i wouldn't say it makes the game broken at all.

If you talking about balancing then I would disagree I wouldnt say any char is as bad a yun in ae where no other char comes quite as close i would say there are at least 10 solid s tier chars in the game which is not broken but yes other chars need that same sort of love lol

As for cashcom! i havent given them a extra penny i bought the game and thats it. I will not buy dlc gems lol never! but at the same time i dont feel like im at a disadvantage at all, my win rate online is about 80% with me being B+ 11500bp and I have yet to loose a serious set in endless and thats just me using the standard gems! I dont feel i have to pay to win! i was worried about it but as of day 1 I havent felt... oh damn i need to buy the dlc gems to be in with a chance.

The game was rushed out the door for date sake they had a deadline and it didnt quite work, but i have faith they will amend the problems.

My £40 lol was worth the purchase and yes sf4 was more complete but I feel when this game gets to the 'super' release (dlc chars release and balanced) then this game will be flipping amazing in a sense maybe better that sf4 but overall i think both sf4 and sfxt will be the best fighters to date but thats probably because ima sf fan lol

I dont really mind the trolls i guess im sort of trolling them everyone has an opionion would be nice to see their reasons sort of like what were doing. rather than just 'your an idiot' 'no your an idiot'... 'NO...' lol

All i can say is stick with the game get all the practice and knowledge you can as from now because the game will be fixed and it will have a future and if you started early with this title then you have a head start i guess

long live sf

I've never had an issue with people liking the game. I've seen some people stick up for the game and make valid points, fair enough.

"everyone moaning about the locked content looool bloody broke kids!" <- So what you're saying is, I'm broke and a kid if I don't bend over? Basically, if I don't have a back bone or are consumer smart with my money, I'm a loser broke kid?
Are you the kind of person that gets scammed on a daily basis and justifies how they were right to do that do you? Like, sitting there after being robbed saying "well I deserve it". "Glad I paid £800 for this TV not to work, I will defend this company regardless".

How old are you by the way?

@bumblebee lol nice name
looool how was you robbed??? do you not feel your money was worth the game... or do you feel your money should of come with the 12 dlc chars?
what im trying to say is my money spent on the game was worth the value disregarding the dlc stuff the only thing i could of asked for was a more solid complete game in the sense of balancing but even that i can work with considering the time issue with the production but that has nothing to do with the dlc... me saying 'broke kids' was just jest apologies if you took it to heart
