Im hype I want this game so bad but hope the character models dont end up looking like sf4.

Now the scary thing is, this whole event is being held OUTDOORS in a park, meaning if it rains too much it can get canceled. Considering that people from abroad will be coming to compete, that's a pretty nasty thought.

I'm worried about Capcom making a new Darkstalkers...
I hope they won't make their 3D-models as ugly as the SF4 ones, and don't get me started on how they've been handling DLC...

I prefer Niitsuma to develop darkstalkers because when he makes a balance game he does it right. Like I loved TvC it was so balance except for zero but you cant really blame him since it was on the wii and Nintendo didnt like balance patches.

As much as I love Darkstalkers, I can't be hype because I don't trust Capcom anymore. I think I'm probably gonna pass on this game (or any Capcom game for that matter), but will enjoy watching tournaments' streams.

I'm hoping it's not a new Darkstalkers, with the way Capcom has been handling their games lately, I'm worried about how things will turn out.

I also think it would be too soon for them to announce yet ANOTHER fighting game when SFxTK has only been out a few months.

Capcom really needs to slow it down if this is in fact a future Darkstalkers announcement coming.

Praying it won't look anything like SF4 or MvC3.

Plz Capcom, plz. I really need to play DS4. I won't preorder any capcom game except DS4. The game is so good and so fast I just love it.
Even if Tougeki sucks, I want to watch this announcement in live. Don't disappoint me Capcom.
We are pretty this isn't CvS3 since Capcom and SNK confirmed they aren't working together now.

I would like darkstalkers to look more like mvc3 than sf4 and I hope its ds4 so we can forget about sfxt,and @13 you are right ono doesnt decide,capcom does......also would be nice if they announce a new breath of fire

@10 Come on give it a chance Capcom probably learned there lesson and they probably wont be any hidden dlc character since Darkstalkers has a small enough cast to put them all in one game and a few new ones. But if your still on sure dont buy it day 1 and wait to see if anything is hidden on the disc or if this game is just not fun but the only thing im worried about if they do make dlc characters before the game is release I feel instead of hiding them on the disc they will finish them and keep them for while until release instead of releasing them on the disc.

In all seriousness, I wouldn't mind another fighting game as long as it doesn't come out for a good while (market is already saturated as is) but would be okay if the new game was something non-RE or DMC related (a proper new Final Fight or Captain Commando, new Breath of Fire that is more along the lines of the first four and not Dragon Quarter, Sengoku Basara 4 or an announcement of bringing the HD collection of parts 1 and 2 to the US)

anyways, if it is darkstalkers(plz no) then im going to cry. its my favorite franchise and i dont want to see the models in sf4 graphics. we know how hard you can push the ps3 and x360 graphics so they need to stop making them look like the first games to come out for them.

plus i dont believe capcom can pull off a dark tone with their goofy butts

It's not going to be Divekick (uninspired) and it's not going to be Breath of Fire. This is announced at a fighting game tournament and it's probably going to be Darkstalkers 4 or a new Project Justice well could be something complete new. The fighting games I'm looking for the most is a Capcom Allstars, Cap vs Snk 3 and a Marvel Super Heroes 2. Or even a multi-crossover.

If Darkstalkers 4 look anything like Street Fighter 4 character models, it's an instant no buy.

I wouldn't get too excited yet. Remember last year's great announcement @ SBO? Yes, we got new costumes...

Shonen Jump vs Capcom would be awesome to, that would be the best announcement, but most unlikely.

There are still way more shooters, way more action adventure games, way more racing games, and way more sports games than fighting games. Fighting games is still a small market in comparison, saturation only happens when releases are too close, action adventure game (some) tend to spread releases away from another.

I agree with #2, I wouldn't be surprised if it was DIVEKICK. The fact that the publisher can't be announced would make sense if Capcom was planning a surprise reveal at SBO. Don't think it would be arcade though, SBO isn't arcade-only or anything like that.

Not here to complain but after the flurry of fighting games they've released in such a short time all I can say is I hope they learned their lesson as far as balance issues, dlc etc...

I personally hope that the do street fighter alpha 4. Man if it is Dive kick I might hurl but I heard it was fun from folks who played it. I would not mind a Darkstalkers but I can of hope it is either a new fighting game or SFA4.

Darkstalkers 4 with Morrigan as one of DLC characters.

I really do want SFA4. The alpha series is imo the best in the series. If they ever make it and they choose to bring back the isms then all they have to do is make x-ism and a-ism the same(maybe more supers for certain characters) and tweak v-ism to get rid of the juggle infinite and do less damage to guard meter and everything should be fine.

I don't understand why you all want a SFA4 ? If they do it, it will be on the same engine and will have the same features as SF4, just with no FADC but rolls instead. No ultras but different super types. A brand new IP or Darkstalkers would be better because there isn't a giant tonne of Darkstalkers games like there is Street Fighter ones.

personally I dont mind the sf4 engine I know its cheaper and maybe a smart move rather than making a new engine for a game that might not even sell well,and @35 I agree I doubt ds4 will be like vsav and I dont really want it to be new game new style,anyways will buy day 1

If this IS DS4, you might want to look to SCV to see what you might expect. Both games would be similar in a large amount of ways (both are darker versions of the parent company's biggest fighting game, both have been absent for a substantial amount of time with fans calling for a sequel, etc). If Capcom made a Darkstalkers IV, they probably wouldn't put as much effort into it as a Street Fighter game, so you might be looking at a game closer to SCV's features. Unless of course Capcom ignores the customization and online play in SCV to give us some anime cutscenes or whatever.

@50: I wouldn't mind a SFZ/A4, But I do want a new DS game before it though. One thing I'm really hoping for (even though it ain't happenin') is for Capcom to realize the grave mistake they made by selling out, and 3D'ing up all their new fighters, and ditching the beautiful 2D sprite work that made them famous in the first place.

Imagine the 2D $hit they could pull out of their asses today - man they'd $hit all over SNK, Arcsystems, who ever! But regardless, I'll be happy with whatever style they choose - The SFIV art style was hard to swallow at first, but after a while, it grew on me - I don't think it's as bad as people make it out to be IMO.

And if this is DS4, I wouldn't mind seeing Akuma playable. I don't like Akuma, but he's basically already more of a goblin monster. Some of the current Darkstalkers characters look more like people.

@ 61 and 62 Capcom are currently trying to court a casual market. Those titles may well be capable of attracting people who wouldn't usually play fighting games. Powerstone 2 was definitely a game that could played by a mixed audience. Capcon need to bring those games back, I for one would be hyped.

I never said that the game (or any Capcom title) would be bad. I just don't support their business practices. I know that a company has to make money and pay their workers, but Capcom has been so shameless and taking advantage of their name that it's almost abusive.
I'm blessed with a great job and a fantastic weekly paycheck, I can afford the expenses, but not because I have the money it means that I'll blindly throw it at some product because is fun, or nostalgic, hype, etc. I'll happily get Persona 4 Arena, TTT2 and DoA5 on day 1, because their companies aren't screwing customers and they always give way more to keep us satisfied and glad to keep supporting them in the long run.

I also said that I'll continue enjoying watching streams of Capcom games, just not gonna support them monetarily (last Capcom games I got were SSF4 and MvC3).

I have a lot of fun with Capcom fighters. They are solid, colorful, fun and memorable, but my only problem is the way they handle their business. Therefore, I ain't supporting them anymore (or for now).

i think fighters have come back to life since sf4 and capcom are trying to make the most of it...
sf4 - back to basics solid sf game (best fighter imo)
umvc3 - crazy pace and mental combos very hype
sfxt - a mix between the above, sf zoning and footsie game with a crazy combo system
sf3s - old school online play
sf2tremix - old school online play
mvc2 - old school online play

and a few nostalgic old school games

in my eyes there is a game for everybody, capcom bringing out darkstalkers will be probably the last niche available... i think lol if capcom was my company thats what i would of done, and be a fighting game fan i also want these games... even if they dont all suit me, im sure it will suit someone else!
