Those buttons for the PS3 version..

So much better than the 360. Why Microsoft? That button color thing you got going on really sucks. (In my opinion)

I swoooped on this deal for my brother a couple months ago when Newegg first had it on sale. Good stuff.

Solution: swap out the toy buttons for some sanwas. Color, your choice

It's sales like this that make me hate living in Denmark.
If we want any quality sticks, it's gonna cost 280 dollars, they're hard to find, and never on sale.

Sure, I can import them, but then comes extra taxes, often up to 50% of the original price.

Ah well, at least we have free health care, calm weather and no live-threatening animals.

How does the hori SCV stick stack up against the MadCatz SCV soul edition stick in terms of build quality? Does anyone own both or used both of them?

@11

I've used both during the same play session 2 days ago. They both have Sanwa parts (stick/buttons) so they essentially feel the same.

The Hori stick is a bit bigger / heftier so that's a plus for me. The button layout is a bit different than the Madcatz sticks as you'll notice the Hori buttons seem to be placed in a convex curve. This isn't a bit deal because I never use the far right buttons. If you were an old school Neo-Geo cabinet player that uses the 4 buttons on the top row, it might make a difference?

One thing that this Hori stick does have going for it that the Madcatz sticks don't, is that it has buttons for L3 / R3 (pushing in the analog buttons). Probably never going to be used, but it's an option that isn't available on the competitor.

Having used half a dozen different sticks at casuals earlier this week -- I'd probably say that the Madcatz SFxT VS. Pro is the best stick and the Hori SC5 was the second best. However, you can buy two of the Hori sticks for the price of the SFxT VS Pro -- so that's why I picked up one of these.

I have a Hori SCV Stick, and I say it's one of the best sticks I ever used.

First thing I like about it is the huge among of wristroom it has. Your wrists rest easily on the stick, unlike Madcatz sticks where there is barely any room, also unlike the Madcatz sticks, the screws on the front panel are much further down, so you don't come in contact with them at all during play.

Next awesome thing about the SCV Stick is it allows for the start button on the face, yet there is no chance you'll ever press it since there is a cover you can put over it so you know you will never come in contact with it. It's a genius design and it works very well.

It's also pretty easy to mod.
