Registrations open for the first Street Fighter 25th Anniversary tournament in Austin, Texas

Registrations open for the first Street Fighter 25th Anniversary tournament in Austin, Texas Matt Dahlgren over on Capcom-Unity, posted registration details on the upcoming Street Fighter 25th Anniversary tournament being held in Austin, Texas on July 28th - July 29th.

The quest for some of the largest cash prizes the fighting game scene has ever seen, along with the coveted keys to our one of a kind custom Street Fighter Scion FR-S, is now underway. Registration for the first qualifying event in the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary tournament series is now open.

The first tournament takes place in Austin, Texas on July 28th-July 29th.

Since these tournaments are for the fans, these will be free to enter. Additionally, every person who registers and shows up to the tournament will receive a free Street Fighter 25th Anniversary t-shirt. We do require a 20 dollar registration fee to save a spot, however if you show up to the tournament, this will be refunded. The tournaments cap at 256 players, so make sure to register fast.

Look at it like this; in this situation there is nothing to lose by signing up and attending if you think you can make it. No "real" registration fee, free shirt for participating, and you get some tournament experience as well. So if you can, do it.

Is this supposed to be a celebration of all fans around the world or just American players? Why can't they do it over the internet? Each country's fgc creates a lobby and do it online...

@5 It's not solely USA. There will be tournaments in Taiwan, England, Brazil, and France also. Finals will be in USA, however.
