Harada: It is more relevant to get Tekken X Street Fighter out on current-generation of consoles

Harada: It is more relevant to get Tekken X Street Fighter out on current-generation of consoles Wonder how far along out Tekken X Street Fighter is? Well it might not be as long as you might think, Kasuhiro Harada told Euro Gamer that they are still planning on the release being for the current consoles Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

"There's still a large number of players out there with a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 who are looking forward to the game," Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada explained. "So we feel it's probably more relevant to get the title out to them on the current hardware."

"We're not completely sure," he continued, "but that's the direction at this moment."

No game can amount up to tekken tag 2 just over night so this should be worth the wait hopefully. This game will probably have 60 characters at max

This would be a game that would sell on new consoles as a launch title but theirs so many ps3 and 360 out right now that I guess it's pointless to make that attempt.

Makes me a lot more comfortable. Not being worried about buying a new console which no one knows of the prices/release dates is way better (though being the first fighting game in a new console could also be a good gamble).

Although I'm not particularly fond of new consoles, i would love this to be on current gen, but I would prefer this to be on next gen. Reason being, we haven't heard anything about tekken 7, and this would make 3 tekken games this generation. I bought a ps2 for tekken tag. This would be a major factor in me buying a new console, knowing full well Street fighter 5 would follow in a couple years as well. Next Gen vote for me.

I'm okay with having the games be on the X360 or PS3. A more powerful console/next-gen console will be fine too.....
....Unless the next-gen consoles fail at getting my attention by having those weird one-disc/one-game use rumors that were going around earlier. No borrowing of friend's or family discs e.t.c.
I'm a Tekken nut either way.

@5 It is funny that you mentioned that. EU just had some weired case where the judge said a certain plantif had the right to sell his digital games regardless of what the developers say. If that case finds its way here (US), it may change how the dreaded DRM laws are written.

I wouldn't really mind if this came out on next gen console, Street Fighter characters are gonna look crazy in Tekken style 3D.

Not that this game isn't gonna obliterate any Capcom title, they're just stupid with the steroids and cartoonish crap. I really miss 3S style...

If the next gen consoles have backwards compatibility... (I don't think they will, things keep getting more whack.)
Then I wouldn't mind a next gen release.

A release for both current and next gen consoles would be nice. While the graphics of the game are not at next gen level, more processing power would make stuff like online more enjoyable.

Wouldn't this come on the arcade first? Means it might only be out after the next generation console but for ps3 and xbox360.

What a dumb question. They're already working TvSF and dev kits for the new consoles don't even exist. Hell, neither of them have even been officially announced.

good...release it on this gen consoles first, then think about porting it and improving it graphically on next gen consoles! thats fair...i don't want to struggle to get those fancy 10k dollars consoles, when i don't even have a chance to get so much money...some of you people saying it should be released on next gen consoles are selfish pricks! you know there're people who cannot allow themselves expensive console?! ...screw you!...besides i just bought my xbox 360 like year or two ago and it required me a lot of work, effort and money to get it! and yes i did! but it was pain in the a*s! if i struggled to get 2k dollars consoles how do you expect me to get 10k dollars one?...

@21

Yeah... I can see that being a reason to buy, but always remember that the PC has already done what the next gen consoles are going to do.

The Wii U is out this November, which means the end of this console generation is almost upon us (as in, the other consoles will soon follow). If they already started major development, keep it on this generation. If not, bring it to the PS4/Wii U (given it's powerful enough)/720.
