Updated: Wolfkrone no longer attending LG Cup in Korea Updated: Marn provided some insight as to why WolfKrone can't attend the LG tournament.

Since a lot of people want to know. Wolfkrone won't be able to attend LG Cup because it's two weekends. He has exams and stuff he can't miss.

Being that it's two weekends, he can't stay in Korea for two weeks. Even if it was one weekend, it might not happen. Stay in school - Wolfkrone.

Earlier MRN|Marn has announced on his Twitter that MRN|Wolfkrone will no longer be attending the LG Cup in Korea. The runner up, EG|fLoE will be going in his place.

Here is Marn's Twitter post.

Bad news waking up today. MCZ.MRN @WOLFKRONE won't be able to make it to Korea for LG Cup. According to the site, Runnerup goes. Floe/Vic!

You can check out the LG Cup qualifying results and dates for the quarter-finals, semi-finals and grand-finals here.

Oh what?!!??!?! Krone had the best chance of winning this thing for Ammurrika! I like "The Guy" (Floe) and all but he has a tendency to Floke on the big stage. I guess Justin will have to try and save the day. Curious on what happened to Wolfkrone though. VISA issue perhaps? He made it into Canada just fine, so maybe thats not it. Hmmm.....sucks nevertheless.

Yay, US is sending some second rate player to a big foreign tourney again.
So floe vs random blanka vs fuudo, guess who will win that.

Wolfkrone has earned more of my respect, giving away his chance to go to Korea because of his education, a great example to be followed.

I respect the hell outa Krone. He's such an amazing player. Plays pad, most of his experience comes from online matches, he's clearly very dedicated to his studies, yet he is possibly the most consistent player we've got in the US. I'm always rooting for this guy.

First Japan doesn't get to one of the best Viper players, Latif.

Now, Korea doesn't get to do it either, Wolfkrone.

Stay in school. I command you for that.
Unless they could pay him 2 two-way tickets, I think he made the right and best decision. Missing two weeks of school for a tourney is a bit ridiculous.

Yes education is importand, but wasnt it clear from the start when it was going to be held? And he couldnt even attend if it was one weekend? So why did he play in the qualifiers?

Its either pretty messed up from Lg to give the players the information that late or Wolfkrone messed up by not informing himself early enough. If its the 2nd one he really messed up the tournament and let the whole scene down by being lazy or unconsidered

Stuff like this is bad for the whole Fighting Game Community. LG made the decision to put up a huge prize pool for this thing, and Wolfkrone gave his word to be a part of it. By doing this, he's hurting the whole scene, if he wasn't committed to finishing this thing out he should have never entered. Actions like this make everyone look bad, the fighting game community will never grow unless top players act like professionals, and that means honoring your professional commitments.

Clever boy, I'm impressed, as for this pro gaming stuff, if you're not at the top and winning tournaments left, right and centre like Justin Wong and Daigo Umehara and you aren't sponsored, I just can't see it as a viable option of a way to make a living! Good decision, Wolfkrone!

I can't believe people actually think there's more to this story.

Wolfkrone goes to school(SURPRISE!!!)
Anyone who's in College/University KNOWS that even missing a couple of days could = failure/days of catching up.

In this case we're talking about 2 weeks. Regardless of his major, missing 2 weeks of College/University, you might as well redo the semester. I applaud Wolfkrone for the fact that even with all of his success in the FGC, he still refuses to let video games get to his hand and take over what's more important. An Education.

God Bless

#59 That all depends on your major, what classes you are taking, who your profs are, if attendance is factored into your final grade and if there are quizzes that can be made up that you'd miss as well (tends to replace roll calls).

Most likely he has a prof that won't let him miss or it's a class or two that you simply can't miss and hope to stay caught up etc.

If it was as simple as you suggest he'd do what all of us would do in his place, go. But that's obviously not the case.

@60: perhaps, i did miss a few quizzes but it isnt too bad, quizzes only accounts for 10% of my coursework marks so it's no big deal. as for attendance, i believe you can apply for a special leave if you've a tournament or something important to do. but who knows, maybe as you say he have a class or something that he cant miss.

@61: it's software engineering and games design.

He should of went honestly experience another country the way society is going and the economy practically on life support this is the opportune time to travel to a foreign country. There is tons of IT techs out there trust me and I'm not lying detroit is one of the most economical deprived states he won't have a job paying much research jobs and see most people coming out of school are getting nothing they bargain for and with possible war on horizon I can see it becoming harder.
