Updated: On Capcom-Unity they announced today what many people already concluded, LU|Alex Valle and Aris Bakhtanians from AvoidingthePuddle will be the coaches for the Street Fighter and Tekken sides respectively.“I'm thankful for the opportunity to coach Team Street Fighter in Cross Assault. New and innovative competition is what brings hype to our scene and I'm excited to lead the team. With that said, I'm going make sure the bearded lady and his crew get rushed down!” – Alex Valle, Team Street Fighter
“I'm happy to be a part of any iPW x Spooky production and I'm looking forward to sending Valle and the rest of his team back to Mexico. I understand that team Street Fighter has the advantage in this competition, however, I doubt they know who they are messing with.” - Aris Bakhtanians, Team Tekken

I kind of figured it would be Valle, as a lot of the big names in the community have been talking about the show and Valle has said virtually nothing.

You're onto something.
Oops, broken link. This should do it. http://www.avoidingthepuddle.com/stor...
I'm dumb and I really need an edit button, could a mod edit my first post with this link? http://i.imgur.com/YDC3E.jpg
I swear it works this time hahaha.
LOL i thought this was a tease for dudley for sfxt cause of the first pic of the pants and shoes then i read the title and was like wtf
@1 you are absolutely correct, and i was 100% sure cali power would be the street fighter guy :)
I think Valle is perfect. People may argue that he's not the "best" and therefore is not the "best" candidate, but you have to consider that being a good player is not all there is to being a good coach. When it comes to people who knows the ins and outs of street fighter, Valle just fits. That's like saying Freddie Roach isn't qualified to coach Pacquiao because he'd lose in a fight to him.
Valle is well qualified for this. He knows how to play. Knows SF, knows what type of training it takes to win, and the mind of a winner. He knows how to teach, he knows about the the preassure on the big stage. I dare say there is nothing Valle can't teach someone about Street Fighter.
@28 You dont care yet you came back to see if anyone responded to you. You are a true troll indeed.
Definitely Valle and Aris. But as a fan of both series, and the people involved in them, I just don't see how this series is going to be very interesting.
I'd much rather see Capcom put that $25k to better use in the community than another "reality" tv show we all know is just going to be one big commercial for their game.
And if their "Cross the Line" series is any inclination of a capcom produced series... oh boy.
i like the idea of Valle/ Markman as the coaches, but i really hope they get some unknowns as players. Maybe some C- ranked tourney players, or online warriors.
It'd be fun to see some new faces and it'd be a real challenge to the coaches. Would be pretty boring to see the same old names and faces.
100% sure its aris, look at the cutout with the fist it says team battle on it. look at this picture of aris http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&hl=...
Was hoping to see a wife beater in the teaser; oh well.
Has to be Aris wouldn't it? idk who Markman is but the middle finger is definitely a trademark of Aris.
It'll be weird if Mr.Naps doesn't play for Tekken too ... don't know enough pro tekken players that have crossed over to high level 2D fighters.
This should be fun but the whole notion that SFxT is an equal middle of the road battleground for SF and Tekken players is nonsense. Tekken players are obviously at a disadvantage as this is just a SF game with Tekken characters in it. Still, a lot of Tekken players are familar with SF as well so hopefully it's not a total blowout.
If team SF wins Aris should have to shave his beard :D
Alex Valle and Aris. I'm going to take the safe bets on that. XD
And I agree that while it would be awesome to see the likes of Justin Wong and CLACKWURK on there, it'd be even better to get more up-and-coming players into the mix.
Should be fun times regardless.
@ 33... just, wow. So much wrong with that even as a troll statement.
To play at that high of a level for that long with one character and remain a consistent factor at every tourney he enters, you have to know what other characters are capable of and have an absurd amount of knowledge on the fundamentals. Think of it this way: he probably knows more about your character than you do and he *allegedly* only plays Ryu.
He's over-qualified for the job. Just felt like addressing that.
aw man...imagine 4 high level players going at eachother...
poongko and daigo on one team...BEAST!!!
@33 You reckon? Clearly you don't know Alex Valle. Because he has mastered one character doesn't mean he can't play others. He has won many titles for many dfferent games. Don't be a dumba$$. No one will ever be able to random select and win a tournament. These games take time and dedication to be consistant at. Valle has done that which is my point you seem to have missed completely. Stop focusing on one statement and read next time. Lord, what are they teaching you?!
wait
i thought they were showing reveals today for sfxtekken
=/its the end of the month
I hope the coaches get a nice bonus if their team wins. Also, i wonder which ones will capcom pick as the other 2 coaches, there were suposed to be 4, 2 for street fighter and 2 for tekken right?
Lol, sending back Alex to Mexico. He's actually Peruan.
Why do some people think : "Im going to send you back to your Country" is good trash talk? Its a racist line that even without the inapropriate undertone isn't in any way funny or creative. I certainly expected more from the Guy who baited Kayo Police with the old Elmer Fudd routine.
@74 Or maybe you should quit being so hypersensitive and jumping aboard the "lolracism" wagon anytime anything remotely close to it is mentioned.
It was said in friendly jest, and the two know each other well so won't exactly take it personally. What are they supposed to find offensive in that, anyway? "Go back to <place of nationality", so.. they're going to be offended for being associated with their place of birth? Oh god, how terrible.
Coming from the UK, I'd be more upset if someone called me fat/skinny/ugly/smelly/whatever than if they made reference to the fact I was born in the UK.
#77 Why do you think im hypersensitive? Im not offended or upset. just said its bad trash talk and explained why.
And you dont really get the implication that sentence has. I dont really know what it means but im always thinking: "Im going to make you look so bad that our Goverment wont want you anymore" or: "After im done with you, you will be in so much shame that you wont be able to face us great Americans anymore and will run back home were it isnt as bad to loose."
I mean, how else would you explain that a videogame loss would send him to his home country? Not to mention, Valle is not even MExican, so Aris is pretty much undermining his homecountry and saying Peruvians are basicly just Mexicans.
But like i said, its not even that bad, and im not upset, cause people dont often think about the implications on most of the things they say, they just heard it and say it back like a parrot. I just think its a standart sentence and he didnt give his trash talk any thought, and thats mainly what my post is about.
@77
"And you dont really get the implication that sentence has. It means what it's always meant in international competitive spots "We will beat them, and they will be forced to travel back to their respective home country empty handed without anything to show for it". It's a typical phrase that's been used for decades and by no means has any racist connotations.
Mr. Street Fighter himself, Alex Valle for Team Steet Fighter and MarkMan for Team Tekken!
