We've just put the finishing touches on several new features here on EventHubs. First off, we now offer news filtering for the front page. Simply edit your profile (you must be logged in), and check the boxes of which game(s) you DO NOT want to see on the news page.I just posted about this in the WolfKrone LG article.
Really awesome.
Really? F*cking Soul Caliber but no Smash Bros? Are you f*cking serious? What's next, Virtua Fighter?
Damn, 89 pages of comments.
WTF have I been doing¿ I thought i didn't post on here that much >_>
I'm expecting other members to have 400+ pages or so.
I should probably thank you for adding filters, now that I'm done ranting about Suck C*ntiber.
@zUkUu
The user history creates a bit more accountability for the comments left on the website. While this isn't an issue in your case, for other people it's sometimes good to look back at their past comments to see if they have a history of breaking the rules, causing problems, etc. so we can either warn them or ban their account.
This also lets users do much the same thing, but of course they don't have access to banning someone, although an ignore feature would probably be a good idea in the future.
We will be expanding the profile page in the future to include more information, but stuff of a more personal nature will be optional — just like how entering a gamertag is now. You can put your gamertag up there if you'd like, but if you don't want to share this information, nothing shows up in that field.
@ Catalyst
Awesome new tech my friend. Can't wait to see what else you guys come up with. Keep up the good good!
p.s. As soon as you add that 'ignore' feature, im gonna ignore zUkUu! lol
@Dr_Robotnik
We can add more categories as needed in the future. We're starting with those for now. When we cover Smash Bros. or Virtua Fighter, they'd fall into the "Other fighting games" category for the time being.
We could have listed every fighting game in existence on the filter page, but that list would have been gigantic, and that would have made it kind of a pain to filter stuff out.
As is, 16 categories is quite a bit to sift through.
Also, while I really appreciate the shoutouts here, please keep in mind EventHubs is very much a team effort. Often times I just get to be the messenger for big announcements.
Nyoro, SFilp and DreamKing23 do excellent work on the site. The entire team always pulls together to support each other and help out, no matter what project is being worked on.
We also have a kick ass set of readers who feed us with news tips, videos, guides and a lot more stuff. They make our jobs easier and make the site way better.
They already have MK9 on there (good thing, too, so I can filter it out and have nothing to do with that 10 year old wannabe crap).
I hope you guys implement a reply feature in the comments some day, where we can reply directly to somebody's comments and that person will get a notification on the homepage. I'm liking the stuff you guys are doing, and can't wait to see more!
God, I just looked at my history. I still remember when people were complaining about how similar Street Fighter x Tekken was to Street Fighter 4. Now it's all Gems and Pandora and anything else they can find :/ I miss the good old days.
EventHubs just became the best site on the internet. Also so happy to see Skullgirls on the list. Can't wait for that game!
Good job Eventhubs crew, many thanks
p.s. still waiting for that 'like' button :P

This is great, cannot wait for the new stuff!
Im glad eventhubs is covering more fighting games but please no MK.
Thank you Eventhubs for making me able to block Mortal Kombat. >:D
I'm glad to be looking forward to news for non-Capcom fighting games such as Skull Girls and Blazblue~
@Catalyst,
any chance of reply buttons in the comments? and email notification if someone replies to your comment?
also, just wanted to say that over the last year i've begun to prefer your site over SRK for several reasons:
- you guys make video 'roundup' articles based on the game, i.e. UMVC / AE (whereas the idiot SRK writers post separate articles for every single video they see on youtube).
- you guys always get the big stories FIRST, sometimes several hours before SRK. People used to accuse EH of biting off other sites, but i honestly think SRK just pulls most of their news from you now.
- you keep KOF to a minimum (whereas SRK just floods their homepage with KOF crap, which is part of their same over-posting issue)
keep up the good work
@gtfopanda
Better search? Yes.
More news tags? Possibly. I really want to see how these work for our userbase for the time being.
We talked about adding filters for combo videos, tournaments, etc., but from a programming standpoint, this created a TON of potential problems.
I'm still thinking about how to fix this, as it would be nice to have... but solving the problem from a programming logistics and easy user experience is not a simple one. So, possibly, but not any time soon.
@doublef
Yes. Many enhancements coming for the comments. Reply option, edit after posting and a few more things I can't talk about, yet.
To set expectations, it's nothing so insanely cool that your mind will be instantly blown, but good solid stuff that'll make the comments area better.
IMO the EH team have done an excellent job since I first started visiting the site. One of the main reasons why I became a massive fan of SF and part of the FGC because of this site.
Also I really hope that those SAME people who continuously complain about the SAME s#!t look at their history and hopefully notice how much they sound like a broken record.
I think these changes are step in the right direction for sure. Keep up the great work!
Add an ignore feature and this site will be golden.
Good job, EH.
Yeah, the Smash Bros community is rather large, and it would help meld it in to the mainstream fighter community (plus, a lot of us are already here under the guise of Marvel fans [I f*cking hate Marvel, but whatever], so I'm sure the response won't be too negative).
fock yes, eventhubs is the shizzle. Im checking this site 30+ times a day, and it just keeps getting more awesome.
I wish you would include some kind of ignore funtion, so you could ignore commentors you know are going to either throw out some trollbait or just hateful comments every chance they get. Shouldnt be super hard to implement, since you already have created profiles for everybody :)
Lol this is awesome! Can you guys say exposed!?
Perfect guys,just perfect two thumbs way up.
Also, @Catalyst
If you throw in an edit button for the post, you have to figure out a way to either see that the post have been edited, or what they said before it was edited. That way we dont have huge pages where the first comments were trolling/ignorant, then edited and the rest of the page doesnt make any sense, because people replied pre-edit to the comment.
Or just so people cant run from their trolling by editing it.
AWWWWWWW YEAH I KNEW I PUT THIS SITE AS MY HOMEPAGE FOR A REASON!!!!!!! EVENTHUBS YOU ROCK!
99 pages worth of comments....jeez someone slap me ha
Right on. :-) I'm a recent dude 'round here (only really got introduced o the site early last year), but it's been awesome. I post way more than I though though, lol.
Also, count me as a Smash fan that wouldn't mind seeing some Smash news here and there. I don't care, whatever competitive fighter's out there, I'm all for it - so long as it's not too much work for you guys. XD
kinda' long; didn't read version: good -ish, EHubs.
@ 43
no mk9? is it too much to use the newly implemented FILTER SYSTEM if you dont want to see mk9.
