They're not in the US maybe? Anyway NewEgg does this for pretty much EVERY major release sometime before they come out, good place to pre-order something if you know you're going to get it. This however, is not something I know I'm going to get.

I for one am gutted that the PS3 version has 5 more characters than the XBox version.
As a 360 player I will no longer be buying this game.
I love playing different characters, my main is random. I really don`t understand why one version has more characters than the other. Anyway, for that reason I don`t think I`ll be purchasing it.
Maybe when it`s super cheap second hand :)
Or I`ll just wait for SxT 2013 edition which will have the 5 extra chars plus 10 more, right guys ;)

i wont be getting this, i already pre-ordered and payed off the special edition at gamestop during the gears of war 3 midnight release. i would get this in a heartbeat if the 25% off applied to the special edition as well and i get the gems for pre-ordering. i guess im stuck paying the $30.59 difference at gamestop.

u know.....to all the people who are bashing the 360 version.....Just be freakin happy that we are getting the opportunity to play this wonderful game. This has to be one of the most anticipated crossover fighting games ever.......If us xbox users don't get any extra characters, just be content with what you have. With 5 more characters on the PS3/Vita version you might as well call it a whole new game......(Ultimate Street Fighter X Tekken). As a Xbox owner I will not be buying unless, they make the xbox coupon for like 50% off.

Just a warning: I pre-ordered MvC3 from NewEgg, and didn't get it until 2 days after launch. If getting the game on launch day is important to you, then I might look somewhere else.

@#12 Cut the crap. You're happy about paying the same amount of money as ps3 owners for less content? What kind of logic is that? I couldn't care less about the guest characters not being from Street Fighter or Tekken. All that matters is the ps3 version is getting 5 more characters (well really 3 the cats are just ryu/kazuya)that will be fun to play with for $60 while 360 version does not. I can not understand people who justify not getting their monies worth by calling the 360 version "pure." It is straight bull.

Microsoft prevents SFxT from getting extra characters.
- 5 less FREE characters to fool around with.
Microsoft forces weird button layouts and ugly button colors on arcade sticks.
- Moving around buttons and buying more to change colors stinks.
Microsoft doesn't allow cross platform play online.
- Windows, OS X, and PS3 uses will be able to play CS:GO together!

This offer makes me want to get this game now. But I'm still so scared they're going to make a new version. With SSF4 that didn't really matter, there was some time between vanilla and super that make the purchase worth it. UMvC3 I'm not even going to talk about, because I remember some article saying they WOULDN'T make a new version and look what happened(just salty buying the limited MvC3 case). They're saying the same thing with this one, but you never know with Capcom now. I might still get it by tomorrow... $45 is not a big deal anyways.

2nd I'm glad there will be people buying it later. This means online will get a revamp if they actually find out "Oh, there will be only 1 DISC version of the game"... Not putting it past capcom for DLC updates but you might as well get the disc people seriously. The only reason they made AE a disc is because of the people who waited to buy complained about wanting a whole new disc. Which was pointless IMO because it didn't come with DLC outfits.

You have nailed it right on. I've said the similar thing a while back regarding 2 different types of players: casual players and hardcore players. Casual players will buy the game as usual and most of the time, they'll enjoy the game. With gems involved, Capcom wants to extend the audience by adding gems in the game to excite the casual gamers. Also, people tend to forget that this game involves 2 of the biggest fighting game franchises going at it and obviously, most of the time, the game title itself would encourage people to buy the game. Hardcore players would look at the game in a different way. They explore the game, like me and the rest of the hardcore players. The gems system ends up being so controversial and that annoyed the majority of the people in the hardcore scene. Hardcore players makes up a small percentage compared to the casual players.

@41 Do not buy this from new egg. I pre-ordered vanallia marvel last year, and it didn't come until 4 days after release date. That ship it out a day after release. probably the most garbage company i've ever seen in my life.
