The finals put me to sleep. Was way more hype for any other matches than that one.

Also, you can't deny that her gaining meter while in that mode is fair. They should at least reduce the time of it or the amount of meter she gets per hit. I'm not completely against taking away her ability to gain meter. Morrigan has been a character whose been considered low tier for awhile. I don't think they should take it away from her. She finally has one really good thing going for her and they want to remove it? I think that it should just stay the way it is.
Somethings should just be left alone. (RIP PW's amazing assists...)
I think they should shorten the duration for Morrigan's super, or nerf Doom's assist.

I thought the finals were great. Actually a show of a strong zoning team and him having to find a way to get around it. Is it hard to get around? Yes, that's the point of zoning. Is it impossible? No. It's obviously very possible, just people aren't used to it.
Would you really rather watch x-factor wesker finals? That garbage is way more cheap really, just everyone's used to it
ChrisG seems to play almost every character in the game so he was able to counterpick teams, and you should encourage that vs. playing the same old top tier trash most everyone else has
Grand finals was awesome. I can't believe it took MarlinPie 6 matches to finally start using Amaterasu against Morrigan.
With that said, ChrisG should have switched to Akuma or Doom whenever he faced Amaterasu. If ChrisG leveled up his Akuma and Doom a little bit more, he would have won easily.
when Doom gets hit have the missiles disappear, have their ark shortened and if the person goes above the ark they dont track, and not have them otg.
Morrigan lower the time on the super for 2 real life seconds not game seconds but keep the gaining meter.
This combo is a little broken but that doesn't mean the other stuff in this game is not broken like Wesker or the Dormamu teleport behind you disrupter broken mixup.
At least with Wesker, you have to land a hit first. With Morrigan, it's basically spam until your opponent gives up. Kind of like MastaCJ's Dormammu.
Where is Dieminion anyway? He plus the top 4 here probably makes up the best 5 UMvC3 players on the east coast. Time for another East vs West?
I personally think nerfing Astral Vision is a terrible idea, sure it looks super good, but most of that was due to Doom Missiles and lack of knowledge on the match up. Out of the two I'd say nerf missiles by making them disappear when Doom gets hit, but maybe go back to there being eight missiles shot (although that would increase the amount of time Doom is vulnerable so maybe not) Doom is already very good and all -I use the term lightly- Morrigan has is Astral Vision.
In the end I think people just need to learn the match-up instead of complaining about strong zoning, it's far from an impossible fight as hey said in post 23.

the way to handle morrigan spam is to super jump and time it out, then advance. the way to handle doom missile is to random super him. its no easy task but everyone keeps pressin buttons and gettin hit. morrigan is a weak char overall cannot break 500k in a bnb, astral vision is the only thing making her playable right now. u nerf astral vision morrigan is DONE. u guys need to step your game up. keepaway is legit.

Well said, I really didn't want to be the one to say it, but everyone was handling Astral Vision terribly; pressing buttons, sitting there and doing nothing, you name it. Astral Vision is good, but not as good as people seem to think they just need to learn how to deal with it.
I didn't really specify in my post, but I don't think either should be nerfed I was just saying that if one of the two were to get nerfed by some chance that's the direction I would lean. I'm fine with things the way they are (Morrigan, Doom, Wesker, etc.), people just need to step their game up as you said.

LOL its good in theory but i'd like to see you try that against chris g in an actual match. I dont think morrigan should be nerfed. It was LAME as hell to watch. Chris g lost cool points from me. No one wants to watch that all the time. I hate watching Big 2 when Dieminion and Chris g are playing now. This i feel is gonna lose viewers.

@31 Morrigan's new BnBs do better than 600k in damaage. So she's pretty solid on damange. Toss in an invulnerable lvl 1 super/Astral vision super and you have a good character that with proper assist becomes a lame-out nightmare. It's easy to say people just aren't handling it right...but in an actual match it's frustrating and difficult to deal with.
I disagree only players saying it shouldn't be nerfed would be of course the Morrigan and Doom users.
IMO I think Astral vision should have less time and shouldn't build meter and Doom rockets should vanish when Doom is tagged (like Sent's assist) #35 said it better then I can.
Give her the right assist and she becomes a nightmare.
I don't main Wesker but he is looking less and less like the problem of the game watching streams like Big Two. Characters like Vjoe, Morrigan and Doom are looking more like the issue.
The lameout playstyle imo should be nerfed for those characters. Good lord its a pain to get around (and boring to boot)
@31 - Pretty much shares my sentiments. Are you kidding me, now people want to nerf characters like Joe, Morrigan and Doom? When they get nerfed, there's only going to be new blood out there ready to be nerfed by the whiners. If you don't like the lameout playstyle (which is rare in what seems to be a rushdown game) then go find a counter to it. In no way are these characters OP'd and now you want to take away their tools? Ridiculous.

@31 The problem with that strategy is that Doom missiles counters the super jump. Chris G himself said that's why he uses the assist, it keeps the opponent on the ground. I don't think either should be nerfed, but that strategy doesn't exactly work against his team.
@41 - No, Doom Missiles should definitely be nerfed. #31 is an idiot because the fireballs will knock you out of random hypers.
Fireballs > Random Hyper
Missiles > Super Jumps
Morrigan is fine as long as she isn't covered by that assist because you can super jump above her to wait it out. Or better yet, you can just get close to her and she can't safely throw fireballs anymore. The problem happens when Missiles will stop you from moving and stop you from attacking.

On Topic: The only change that Hidden Missiles needs is to disappear when Doom gets hit. As Nyu mentioned earlier, the attack/assist will still be great, and that would balance it out a bit more.
For the work she has to do, Morrigan is fine.

Moving on from the trolls......even high-level players have said that Hidden Missiles is overpowered. They've been saying it since Vanilla, so it's not exactly a knee-jerk nerf. If an assist or attack can still hit you EVEN AFTER you've connected with your attacks, it's a bit much.
But you keep on posting old videos. Just pray you don't come across me online in UMVC3.
Here, I'm a Morrigan player, and I use her exactly how ChrisG does. My team is Wesker, Morrigan, Doom. So I'll give you some tips on how to counter her.
Make sure you get her in the game asap before she gains meter. ChrisG puts her out first, but I prefer her in the middle so she builds meter for astral vision (w/ assist). If you hit her, just xfactor and kill her. At least that way you can just relax.
When she doesn't have meter, she becomes mid-tier. If she's on the ground, super jump towards her. If she jumps, then dash in towards her. Then you have to wait for her to drop and try to attack. Just avoid her S on the way down as the hitbox is her entire body.
If she gets astral vision, you might as well just keep super jumping/flying/teleport to wait it out.
Otherwise, use Amaterasu on point or use Doom's hidden missle or Strider's vajra assit. They will shut down Morrigan's fireball shenanigans.
IMO, her astral vision shouldn't be nerfed other than taking away her meter build. Her Bnbs does 400k max and 600k with super. The other thing that she could get nerfed is the hitbox on her S. But taking away Astral Vision or her fireballs will make her a useless character.
Stop complaining about nerfs. She's not broken, and if she does get nerfed. You guys will just complain about the next top-tier character.
Some more tips (characters that can deal with Morrigan):
Amaterasu - counter her fireballs and move in slowly. Use your super to surprise her.
Magneto - keep chucking EMP on Morrigan. If she jumps, you jump with her and SPAM F*CKING EMP.
Super Skrull - down H and that slam where he goes off the screen
Strider - Vajra
Dormammu - teleport above her, spam pillars
Characters that can deal with Doom's hidden missle assist:
Amaterasu - fireball super
Super Skrull - do the slam into Inferno
Iron Man - beam super
Nova - beam super
Storm - ice storm super
etc.
Just use anyone with a beam super that fills the screen. He will die in two supers if he get's hit during hidden missle. You have to use something that fills the screen though cause the missles will hit you otherwise.
There, it's not that hard. That's all my knowledge on the matchups.
The one thing you guys should be happy with though is that most people will not be able to use Morrigan the way ChrisG, Dieminion, and Omnyscythe does because she requires the most amount of technical skill to play. Most people I play with said that they couldn't do the fireballs well and her combos BnBs are extremely tight on timing.
So come on, just learn the matchup. I don't want her nerfed because she's one of my favorite characters!

Yeah but in here, everyone is complaining about Morrigan's fireball with Doom's assist. I'm trying to help you guys deal with that. Hard? Yes, but not impossible.
Imo, when I play my team, I think Morrigan with lvl 3 x-factor is better than Wesker and Doom, cause she can chip even Thor out in a few seconds.
Also, if you have a team with two beam hypers (i.e. Amaterasu and Storm), when Doom comes out, do a Team Hyper Combo. All hypers comes out INSTANTLY regardless of startup. If Doom manages to survive, he will have so much red life that even ChrisG would not call him out.

That's true. I ran into a lot of Morrigans today, so she's definitely becoming more popular.
Right now, I'm trying not to use my Morrigan team. Since most people don't know how to deal with it, the wins get a little too easy.
Wolverine, Felicia, Akuma is a lot more fun.
I need a team for Akuma. I want to start using him like I did in Vanilla, but since his Tatsu was nerfed, he doesn't really go with Wesker and Taskmaster like he used to.
Yeah using Akuma is a bit hard. But I think if you can learn to pick the right spots to call his assist, then you become a much patient player.
How about a character with a roll like Felicia, Captain America, or Frank West? Using Akuma assist during your rolls is so godlike. When I saw Justin Wong do it with his Felicia/Akuma team, I had to start using it.
Well, Cap is one of my mains, and so is Frank.
Problem is, I can't stick both of them on a team because neither Cap nor Akuma have ways to level up Frank safely.
Any suggestions?
NOTE: I don't do well with characters with high execution (Dante, Magneto, Doom, Viper, etc.)
Hmm, I think Wolverine, Dormammu or Nemesis would be good point characters for Frank.
With Wolverine, you could do the same thing that Noel Brown does.
With Dormammu, you could do something similar: TAC to Frank > camera > call in Dormammu sphere assist > launch > air combo > camera).
Same with Nemesis: TAC to Frank > camera > call in Nemesis punch assist (the one that wall bounces you) > air combo > camera.
I think they all will get you to lvl 4+ just as long as you juggle in the air with the plunger.

Oh! haha. Um, that's a bit harder to say. Since you have Cap on point, how about someone with a beam assist. That way you can vary how you get in on your opponents. If they stay far away from you, use beams to get in. While if they are close, use Akuma's tatsu assist.
Maybe Hawkeye or Taskmaster?
Or maybe Dormammu. Cause Cap and Akuma has problems dealing with people in the air. Dormammu would solve that problem.

You have to do some really long combo just to break 700k while half the cast can do that with no effort its just that no one was blocking and they didnt really super jump enough either I play morrigan and I know for a fact she takes alot of work just to get some damage and she counters wesker pretty easy,u guys dont know what you want to see first I see people saying I am tired of wesker vs wesker next I hear morrigan is to cheap geez people learn how to play the game
