Tournament patch = admitting the game is not tournament ready = Its a party game.
ugh. Gem selection looks like it is going to eat up a TON of time for tournaments. They stream lined it for playing at home since you can save multiple gem selections per character. But by making gem selecting a whole separate menu, plus the number of gems, plus saving and selecting that gem, PLUS having two do it for each character you are playing (which basically means that character changing is out of the question) gem selection is going to take FAR too long.
#7, lol if they did that, I think 90% of people playing that game would just play the tournament mode because its a less of a hassle.
Dont think capcom would want that. Sadly gems will still be in the tournament mode. Though I'd like a no gem in the tournament mode but I just dont see it happening.
Im not really impressed with this game at all.. so i wont be getting it since mass effect 3 comes out the same day anyway. But you have to admit the skate park level is pretty awesome. The twins are there skating around and the el fuerte billboard is just so sick!
Did anyone else see Alex on one of the billboards in the first match?

the cammy player in the first match couldn't even chain into launcher cause he would do a sweep before it that knocks down the opponent
why is Ono trying so hard to make this game accessible to people that just mash anyway and don't put any thought into what they're doing?

I hope they make chains/cross rush cancelable into specials (regular ones) again. Lets the chars be more unique, not just battle of chain buffers in footsies > launcher all the time.
These guys a fairly ignorant as pertains to the DLC vs Disk debate. They don't seen to understand the value of having an all inclusive disk for $40.00 beats spending $80.00 over a period of time for the same content.
With that being said, they did become my personal heros by saying Capcom should have put Mike Haggar into a "PROPER" Street Fighter game by now!

Akuma (and his partner) Ogre( and his partner) I had to replay that part few times b/c i didnt want to believe there is hope for some people to make it in. Considering the teams now, like Rufus and Zangeif FAIL... Is just my imagination or everybody around here are happy with gems? Really like that dragon ball z style auras and that crappy sound when the gem is activated?...I loved street fighter 4. It´s the best game on this generation consoles and i felt in love with sfxt in the first demos....but now...i don´t know what it is really...even capcom doesn´t. Later this year they will release sfxt tournament edition an will say that the community is the first.....and all the lambs will thank capcom that they took tehir money twice, like always....
With gems, the only problem i have is how it makes the chars. glow, it just needs to appear as they are at the bottom, everyone will notice b/c its right next to their cross bar which everyone pays attention to b/c they need to know if they can kill someone with a shinkuu hadoken or should they just do a shoryuken or an EX move. Gems for a good player will not change how you play, you just need to pick the Gems that are your playstyle, if you like doing combos, pick one that has 5hit normals activation. Its not game breaking or changing, it just helps a little bit, mixes things up a little more.
I don't like the simplicity of cross rush. Lets just wait and see how it works out.
@37 I don't know why Haggar cannot be in the same game as Zangief. Perhaps the arcade cabinet/console would explode they actually fought.
But you gotta think it's probably not too far off that the devs think they basically are the safe. it's that or they can't surpass a certain quota for grapplers in a game.

Pandora: It should lessen your life bar to 1 instead of a time limit, so it forces the other player to fight you at some point, instead of running away. esp cuz this game has alot of Teleport chars. it will be hard for every char. to kill them if its time based. Now if its life, they might want to fight you still to make ur life go down much faster, but with time its just playing keep away. Spread this idea. blast his twitter!! lol

Thank you for recognizing the truth. And your probably right, after 20+ years of waiting for Haggar vs Zangief the console probably would malfunction/explode just before the fight could take place lol.

the glowing when the gems activate is the worst thing, other than that everything else seems fine.
Until now, I've never commented on anything that is related to gems and I'm not going to judge on SFxT at the moment because 1. It's too controversial (I see a lot of negativity going on in the community) and 2. Me and all of you guys haven't even touched the game and yet a lot of people are already bashing the game left, right and centre lol. At the moment, it's looking good. However, when it comes to gems, I'm on the fence for that one. I'll wait until the game is released. I don't mind having basic gems but to have over 100 or something gems and to have gems on the DLC looks set to be a failure. Mirror matches will be interesting though. I'll always enjoy the game casually but when it comes to seriousness, I'm not too sure. Guys, don't take my comments as an offence because I'm just giving out my own opinions.

@61 I understand what you're saying but there is a HUGE difference between a game and a movie based on a video game. I've already knew that Legend of Chun Li would end up becoming a failure before it was released and how many live-action movies based on a video game became successful? I've watched SF2 animated movie and I've like it a lot. SF Alpha the movie wasn't too bad either. But live-action SF movies were shockingly bad. Let's not talk about that. Move on to SFxT, and like I said before, I'm always going to enjoy the game, casually. No matter what. It's just those 100 or so gems that I'm not too sure about whether I'll take it seriously or not. Basic gems are fine by me but would I spend on DLC gems? Very unlikely because I'm still going to play SF4 during the time when SFxT is released. It'll be a waste of my money and my time. It's takes time to become a very good player on one game. I've also have high hopes for the Namco version, TxSF.
So what happens if 2 characters use the exact same colors online?? O_o how will we get differences and know who is who? I hope they make it so if they are the same then the 2nd personal auto switches to original 1
Even if this cant be taken as a serious fighter ill still get it because it looks fun to play with your Fambam because of the easy combo system.

I cant imagine seeing some of my friends actually getting into a fighting game like that, but this can probably make ppl do just that....Look at what shooting games have done to many ppl this gen. This could probably be it to turn the casual gamers into getting addicted to being good at fighting games.

Paul... oh Paul... why you look so bad... those matches with hime made him look like crap imo. his stance is weird, his movements seem stiff, i dunno, that is not Paul lol.
On another note, i actually dig the Gem glow on chars, adds some difference to the game, and it helps to see which kind of gem is active.
Also, in my opinion, this game is looking ugly :/
i don't like the saturation on the colors, it seems to darkish and with a brush tone to the textures.
i find it hard to explain, that allied with the yellow/orange life bares, and yellow/orange hits and glows...
maybe that's why i like the gems, brings some colors and life to the game.
also i personally don't see why people desperately want to make this game a hardcore tournament scene. geesh, i don't want to seem bad, but this is exactly why i have grown to hate the "competitive" scene on most games, people stop caring about everything.
only on how X will stack up with Y, and how Z will be stronger because of W....
on Halo people only cared about 3 weapons and 1 mode, on Tekken people only want the competitive feel of pokes, and frame punish, same goes for SF. heck even a game like League Of Legends stops being fun over people being douches due to "zomg ima lose because u made one mistake!!!!!!"
i get ti that people find competitiveness fun, but don't make it all that a game as to offer please...
