InahkSohrab did a video showing off an Oni combo into reset that does 1,000 stun.
QueeringAids posted a short video from a Japanese arcade where Oni stuns and kills Seth in less than 9 seconds.

Nice!
Queering-Aids same guys that uploaded the funny Gen Infinite clip.
That Viper video had too much AE going on.
I dislike that quake/rumble effect.
AE = After Effects.
That fȕck face whilst LHMonkey was painting, good thing the final rendition turned out much better.
viper is a broke character. rush down video dont make me laugh all her moves are safe why not rush with her...
they make viper that good and reduce yun to onthing? y add him if those tyoe of nerfs were needed ┌П┐(•_•)┌П┐
wow terrible spelling i was just saying why lower yun so badly if he needed those type of nerfs he shouldnt have been added in the 1st place ┌П┐(•_•)┌П┐
viper isn't broken at all. If she is why dont many greedy people play her? The viper players who are good have most likely been training her hard since vanilla since she barely changed and nobody complained until a few months ago. She may be hitting you for tons of damage if the player has technical skill but just remember you only have to hit/combo her just as many times or less to get that much closer to killing her and her 900 health. Even if she was top tier you couldn't ask for a more admirable, non-broken top.
Viper is only as good as you make her to be. Space yourself correctly and don't fall for her mix ups and she is like any other character. Try not to throw around the word "broken" because these SF4 characters have nothing on ST Akuma. Nice painting Btw as always by The Left Handed Monkey
@15
don't be like one of those guys who thinks characters like ibuki are autopilot because they're the ones who don't know how to block/evade. So is Oni broken also? cuz judging from that video he can put in half-life damage with some work as well. Or maybe nobody's complaining because he's new and there aren't enough good Oni's out there to spawn "broke" cries....yet. Like #16 said, space yourself correctly and you'll feel like you learned a matchup for once!
Viper experts, usually technical players anyways, put all that work into learning the spacing they need, learning the matchups, and the best situations in addition to advanced combos. It's time for others to do the same for when they face a viper, so they don't fall into her favorite situations/setups.
Viper is not broken but she is clearly miles above some characters, and the whole saying people have been playing her since vanilla arguement is bullsh*t... the amount of gdlk Vipers and Seths online has trebled since AE 2012, all the tier whores have dropped Yun and moved on to viper/seth.
While she may not be broken, she is a very safe character with some amazing options, very safe moves, great mix ups and easy mode combo into ultra etc etc,
I really enjoy fighting Vipers, so i dont mind that she is top tier... Seth on the other hand is f**king broken! im never one to be all like nerf this char or this char.. but f**king nerf seth, its a joke now how OP he is!
@17
I agree wholeheartedly. I'm sure this guy is a talented player, but saying "Ode To Skill" is a bit much. If it was him bodying some top level player(s) that would be one thing, but the majority of these players either are trying to mash out (whether it be a reversal or a grab), or they're just on the wrong end of a 50/50, which isn't an "Ode To Skill", imo. :/
Viper is fine. If you haven't learned how to deal with her by now there's something wrong in your matchup learning process. Burn kicks can be avoided with hurtbox lowering normals, blocked thunder knuckles are negative and her fastest normal is 4 frames. Blah blah blah, stuff that has been know forever, but people refuse to apply. If you can't beat a burnkick with your character then you trade with it.
Ex seismo is almost combo only now too since it can be grabbed. Ex seismo can be used for zoning traps and seismo locks still so it's not like I'm saying it's useless. She has a pretty good amount of un-favorable matchups too.
Akuma can do damn good damage too and has a stronger mixup game yet nobody bitches 'cause online akumas are pretty bad. Then suddenly the only viper online bodies you and it's because she's broken or S+++++ tier. Totally not because you don't know the matchup or the player is good. I mean, latif and wolfkrone are getting carried by viper because she's so good right? Oh wait, NO. Also, you don't need anywhere near good execution to do all of her harder combos and setups. Yet only 2 viper players stand out in tournament results.
Some of you guys need to stop lying to yourself, viper is not some overpowered noob friendly standout that wrecks everybody autopilot. Every viper I have seen doing well enough to make a case for broken has either been playing her forever or they are good in the game period. Seth is not broken either poongko makes him look the best and his seth has been good FOREVER. He designed Seth into what he is today.
i would like to tell the left handed monkey to STFU!! and your painting stinks! you think your funny and cool? well your not, i probably couldnt stand 5mins around your a\\ i hate when ppl try way too hard to be cool, and stop sayin pu**y so much like u actually get any!
you people asked for damage nerfs, she got them. You people asked EX seismo nerfs, she got them and yet you all still complain about Viper. Its your fault if you haven't learned a matchup that has been left unchanged since Vanilla. Now youre saying SETH is broken? GTFO.
@the_truth
Wrong, Viper's worst match ups are Bison and E.Honda and they got harder in v.2012. Stop mashing jab, and you won't get counter hit into a mean punish. As for burning kicks, use cr. MK to got under it. You people never learn.
I'm so tired of people saying viper hasn't changed just because they hear other people say it. The viper we have today is worse than sf4. And the people saying she's completely safe are insane and need to learn frame data.
@ #21
Akuma's damage is average at best considering that he gets hit harder by essentially any character. His stun is pathetic, he needs four to six (you read it right, six) mixups to stun people and his vortex got nerfed in 2012 since you can block everything low and his divekick crosses up only in specific scenarios (corner mostly). He's not nearly as scary as Viper or Seth.
Tokido is getting bodied because Capcom keeps nerfing Akuma more and more, check how many top players around the world are playing him to see how much of a broken character he is.
Man, he was tearing those SEASONED players to pieces....
@ 27
How are Honda and Bison good against her? I'm not trying to argue with your point, I genuinely want to know what advantages they have against her.
#8 and #10
Why is everybody saying Oni was banned?! Oni was never banned, not once. Chris Hu used Oni at EVO, even Ryan Hart used him at EVO for a match or two. Why would a bad character be banned, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Some of you guys need to get your facts straight because ya'll sound really ignorant. Also, saying Oni is broken is laughable... really. Yun was broken in AE, that's why he was fixed. Oni got buffs for 2012, obviously he was never an issue and he's still not broken, not even close.
I love it when ppl bitch abt Viper, same as Yun, learn the matchup! I play Gen considered as a low tier but I have 70% win rate in my online matches with him, when I win ppl bitch about how gimmicky he is, when Viper wins ppl bitch about how high how damage output is. GROW UP ppl! stop being a pu$$y and learn the match up, if you dont want viper to rush you down then you rush her down.
@28
I'm not one saying she is broken, but that argument can be made for any character. Seth is no where near how good he was in Vanilla (Dhalsim teleports, absurdly good dive kick, etc) but that doesn't mean he's average now. C. Viper is top tier because of her guess work. Also the only thing I can recall that isn't safe are non-ex seismo's (which can be canceled out of anyways free so this shouldn't even be a factor), ground EX-burn kick, and heavy thunder knuckle. She's absurdly good, and once you learn her style of play, the application is the same on every character.
@31
From my experience, Viper has all sorts of trouble with charge characters in general. Dictator, Boxer, Honda, Blanka, Dee Jay just to name a few. Horizontal charge attacks can be difficult to punish on block, so you have to rely on countering beforehand in order to punish effectively. Her footsie and poke game is much weaker when trying to combat the defensive tools that charge characters are equipped with.
A troublesome matchup, but it isn't impossible for either side to win.
It's difficult
@DunnDeal
I corrected the guy who said Viper has to learn matchups, she doesn't. Can you Please point out where i said Viper has no bad matchups or that i personally struggle in that matchup....that's right you cant. Now stfu and stop putting words into other people's mouths.
For the record i've mained Abel since Vanilla so I don't mash jab or press random normals when i'm under pressure EVER, I've learnt to block, tech throws & above all stay calm !!
k thx bye
@33
You just start following the FGC this morning or what? I'm usually the last guy to find out/care what the stream monsters phrase of the week has become, since I kinda refuse to look at stream chat anymore, (I swear to god I have lost some intelligence in the last year because of it) but even I understand the "oni is banned" bs.
@the_truth
Viper definitely need to learn matchups. Do you think she can jump in on deejay the same way she does everyone else after a knock down? No. She has to adjust to his wakeup game. Same with other characters. Some of her jump in setups that beat Ken's F.srk will lose to his M.srk. She has to learn matchups too.
@EMP_Frontpagemaster
hahaha. No. Today's viper is very toned down. The fact that her damage has been reduced and her Ex seismo has been nerfed are enough to prove you wrong. Oh yeah, she got Ultra nerfs and burnkick nerfs (not just the recent damage ones) too. Pretty sad that balance changes are actually done due to crying.
@gtfopanda
It's not hard to do near 400 damage with akuma. Sure it cost 1 more bar than vipers FFF>ex.seismo, but it also does more damage. FFF>mp.tk only does 268. Akumas standard punish off of a light punch does 291 lol.
If we throw in meter Akuma does 379 with 2 bars from a S.fp>fireball>fadc>S.fp>lk.tatsu>Shoryu. Viper does 323 with 1 bar from a FFF>EX.seismo>sweep/bk. She gets 205 at most from a lk starter. So yeah, I think Akuma's damage is good. He beats her damage with no meter and only uses 1 more bar to do massive damage if he chooses to. On top of that he has much better zoning/wakeup/normals. But, since he's shoto style before the knockdown people know the match a bit better. He'll kill you on the 3rd mixup for sure unless you botch the combos. 291 from a lp is pretty big and if you got mixed up you probably ate a divekick.
@36
It's only guesswork if you let it be a lot of the time. Fighting games are just like that and characters who have bad normals need to be able to make something out of mixups. seismo can only be sjc if they hit or are blocked. a whiffed seismo has a ton of recovery. Her playstyle isn't the same on every character. People just happen to put up videos of themselves playing against people who can't even block jump ins that are obviously not going to cross up.
QUEERING-AIDS ?
