Seth is a terrible amalgamation of characters. Completely unoriginal and has been pretty much detested since his first appearance.
The sudden surge in his popularity is no doubt in part to Poongko and his ridiculous persona and the buffs that make him pretty strong in AE and 2012.
The FGC is like every other community, fickle and generally retarded.
from I remember in vanilla he was hated because the CPU was damn hard back then. The recovery he had on his teleport was so little anything you would like to attempt on wake up (reversal or blocking) seth would end up countering it. Thus why he got toned down for Super.
I find seth ok but for SFxT ? no thx we can find better choice
i would also love to see seth's lifespan continue beyond sf4, gill never stood a chance because he was intentionally unbalanced but seth has been a great addition to the franchise, and jasonlee, seth is MEANT to be a combination of the cast that's what I love about him
I like Seth, too. Only shoto I actually enjoy playing and watching thanks to his vast moveset. Don’t think he’s too strong either, as he’s one of the few characters where balancing out high potential with low health actually worked.
seth's just a terrible design and just a perfect example why a boss character should never be made playable. Oh look, some bland looking blue humanoid character, haven't we seen this already with urien and even 12?
In order to balance him, they gave him low health. When you start giving characters low health to 'balance' you know the design is horrible.
seth's also the only character to ever have an actual move removed from his arsenal further reinforces the fact that he's a terrible design. He's just as bad as gill in sf3. Capcom just can't even come close to surpasses bison as a boss design.
That combo was pretty basic and meh anyway, surprised it's been posted.

"seth is MEANT to be a combination of the cast"
In other words, capcom got lazy and couldn't be bothered to make a real boss character so they started to cut and paste moves from other characters.
It's almost as lazy as dural from virtual fighter.
@11
He seems to be directly related (story wise) to Urien and 12. So I guess you've answered your own question. He has Urien's body and moves. He copies the moves of other characters just like 12.
@13
Nope, the community constantly complains about everything, and every character.
@11,14
Gill is extremely easy if you realize beating him is based on being able to parry.
Once you can parry his moves he's one of the easiest bosses you'll ever face.
As for Seth.
He is simply the easiest boss ever created for a SF game. He has a pattern guys. If you stand 1 1/2 character distance away from him he will do Arms and Lighting Legs like a mindless fool. Leaving himself open to punish. Even on the hardest difficulty (I've beaten it with everyone on hardest).
SF2 Bison.
Stands as the HARDEST end boss! No need to actually charge any of his moves lol, this guy just does whatever the Eff he likes.
Cheap as hell:)
That Seth combo was made better by Pokey86 months ago, foo! The Hype video should have been posted first, for it looks to have been more work to make it! Anyway, sick Hype video. It was nice to remember those moments.
I hate seth too. In my opinion he would be balanced if his air attacks would be a little weaker, but for me who mainly plays characters that dont have good reversals and rely on normals as anti airs seth is just way to overpowered. He can just pressure me to death and im at a disadvantage on pretty much every spacing and situation.
@Aluppoj: You are right. S.I.N organization and Seth's BLECE project are the foundations for the story of Street Fighter III. Capcom has not been lazy by creating a character who copies other fighters' moves, they created him to bring the story into the fight! Remember that the goal of the Street Fighter tournament is to create the perfect fighter, the perfect combination of mind, body, and experience, be it to welcome Bison's evil soul or to made this fighter a weapon to dominate the world!
I didn't get the trick behind the counter hit off Juri's Reversal EX Pinwheel Kicks... Is the advantage on Counter Hit bigger than usual, because she uses that move?
seth is a boss - seth for sfxt
