Scramble looks like some good dumb fun for when me and the friends have a few beers but nothing I would take seriously. Also Dat ROSTER! Can't wait for my boy Cody to be revealed its only a matter of time now. Sad that Alex didn't make the cut but with a roster this big I can't complain.

so yeah, this is kinda wonky how the character select screen is fixed up. Cole is right below the box where Jin will be (figuring that Juri and Xiaoyu's partners will be Bison and Jin respectively), the two mascot characters will be next to the cats (probably). That leaves such a disjointed looking box setup. I can imagine at least four to six more characters being announced to make this character select box aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Then again, this is Capcom. And there is two spots in the SSFIVAE character select left open that throws off the aesthetic.

Oh, I noticed that the two cats are usable in this build. Were they ever officially announced or confirmed for the consoles? I vaguely recall them being Vita-exclusive, but I never really knew what was going on with them.

Perhaps a better question, though, is whether they're Japan-exclusive or not. I also vaguely recall complaints from other games that they refuse to bring anything cat-related to NA.

regarding this recent characters select screen i'm pretty sure that placeholder to the right of Juri and to the left of Dhalsim is reserved for M.Bison, while other to the right of Ling and below Law is for Jin...

#14 from what I gather the two cats are available only on the psvita and Cole is available on PS3 and Vita. As far as plans for NA I don't really know.

Who is the guy next to Kuma and under Ling? Looks like it could be Cole or Bryan. Not sure though.

Glad to see everyone's attitudes are changing about the game as we near release. Not gonna lie I really want this game to succeed just cause these two games were a big part of my child hood and numerous parties and memories that revolved around both these franchises. Me and the friends actually are having a big party just for this game and I just can't wait! Hope everyone else has fun with it to.

That's the thing though. I assume these videos don't take place on the Vita, so either the cats are on the console, or they're using the Vita build on a computer or something. I'm kinda hoping for them to make it onto the PS3, 'cause they're the cutest little joke characters I've ever seen.

Well, to be fair, they're likely super-weak (hence they didn't spend time balancing them) and they have really tiny, simple 3D models (hence making them much easier to make), so I doubt making them was a HUGE waste. More like a tiny little waste, if anything.

But whether the cats are a waste of space or not, they exist, they're programmed, and they're ready to go. So I feel that even if someone hates them, they shouldn't be clamoring to remove them from the game (not necessarily talking to you, 28). I mean, if they put the work into making the cats, but didn't even use them in the final game, wouldn't that make it an even bigger waste?

oh wow at first when they said you could have two human players on one team i thought they meant the MK9 way where you can only play if your friend decides to switch but no it's the team battles from Street Fighter Alpha 3 which is so much better

Am I the only one that noticed that it seems like there would be about 7 more characters for each side? One of each of the 7 is easy, Jin and Bison, but that leaves 6 out for grabs. However, Cody and Guy are basically on the Street Fighter side already, so 4 open slots for Street Fighter.

@21 They have a 2 on 2 mode in this game,which let's you tag in with another player unlike scramble mode.Just letting you know.

Alex from Street Fighter 3 and Sakura should team up in this game since they have the same goal of wanting to fight Ryu.

According to the list the remaining characters should be
SF - Dudley, Elena, Cody, Guy, Bison, Akuma
TK - Jin, Lars, Leo, G Jack, Alisa, Ogre

Canceling fireballs and such looks pretty hamdy. this game looks great. Love the roster so far. Xiaoyu is looking cool too.

#48 well...if that is really Cole in the bottom right of the select screen (and it really looks like him...) than it wouldn't make sense to add someone to the right of him...thats how it always works, the least imprtant characters (like guest, weak) are always at the very bottom...so if my logic is correct, than it should be three more characters in the bottom left part of the screen (SF side...), one more at the upper left (probably Akuma), and three more in the upper right (for Tekken side...) and thats it...probably Pac-man will be to the right of Kuro (white cat because someone still confuse them...), while Megaman to the left of Toro (grey cat...)...

It's awesome they gave Xaioyu her stances. Also, battle ranks! It looks like Turo, Kuro & Cole are also on the PS3 version - I'm not sure if they'll count for the roster number though since they almost certainly won't be the 360 version. It's possible Juri's Fuhajin (fireball kick) is just the kick now - hopefully not. Scramble mode looks like a fun distraction from the main modes.

Scramble match seems like a blast for parties. I could imagine alot of laughs going on in a room.

@28 Toro and Kuro didn't take anyone's spot. They were placed on top of the standing roster they had. Think of them as added bonus characters. Also according to the official Lupinko leak, Mokujin is in the game, and Pac-Man is riding him.

Wow they gave Ling all her stances. That's a good transition. A lot of the other Tekken characters look as if they lost a lot of their identity with additional moves like dive kicks etc. Any people who don't play Tekken and want to pick up a Tekken character I would recommend Ling based off the video. She looks the most Tekken like character in the game.

Ryu's fake fire is also very good too. I wonder any other characters can cancel their fireballs.

I peacefully waited for Bryan's confirmation through all this time...
But the "bosses", which would normally the last character to appear just got revealed, with tips for Akuma and Ogre thrown into...
Anyone worried he might not make into the game? The Tekken characters seem awfully easy to play and Bryan not being in the game makes me rethink this buy all through.

Anyway, there's just one thing that I'm really annoyed by the game: the fact that gems cannot be disabled.

It kinda ruins the gameplay experience if they impose stuff to use during matches. I mean, UMvC3 doesn't impose you to use Team Aerial Exchanges, X-Factor, Snapbacks and such; these mecanics are there for you to use as you see fit, but you can use them... or not, and the game is still enjoyable.

Here, however, it ruins the experience, because there is no way to disable the gems. There's not even an option to disable them before a match. While Pandora mode looks to me as utterly useless, you don't have to use it, it's not mandatory. The gems are, though, and this is where it hurts.

SF side:

Blank slot Next to Juri - M. Bison

1st row (Slot Above Rufus and Next to Chun-Li) - Unannounced Vita Exclusive Character like Dante or Morrigan

5th row (2 slots Next to Rolento and Below Juri and M. Bison) - Guy & Cody
