@7 I'm pretty confident that ChrisG picks Morrigan against Dieminion as a 'counter' pick to troll him.

I really don't see how anyone can say that ANY UMvC3 match involving Die is 'exciting'. Quite possibly the single most boring strategy in a fighting game I've ever seen. Only way it could be worse is if Die ever actually got good at the game, and incorporated that into his lamer strat.

I stand somewhat corrected. ChrisG appears to have used that team the majority of the night. I still maintain that it is primarily a troll, as he typically uses some combination of Chris/Ryu/Hawkeye/Dante.

At some point on the stream, the commentators said that ChrisG was using his Morrigan team because he didn't want to get randomed out.

With that said, he did counterpick Dieminion with Morrigan and Doctor Doom assist.

That's not entirely true. Fighting games isn't all about zoning. It became really popular once SF4 Vanilla came out. Sure the older SF games were about zoning too, but that was all you could do (i.e. O. Sagat)... Majority of all fighting games are about getting in and landing combos. But a nice balance between the two grows the fighting genre.

With that said, I have a team based around Morrigan's fireball shenanigans. And I can understand why everyone hates her.

...yea zoning being "popular" had nothing to do with vanilla unless that's the first time you played a fighting game.

Yea i have to agree with the ADD ADHD thing. Guile isn't overpowered at all but when 9 out of 10 players can't stop jumping and grew up playing easy-mode games then 9 out of 10 players don't have strategy and just want to push buttons and win.

Stick to CoD kids.

Why are you even bringing up Guile? No one was even talking about him. But just FYI, Guile is the definition of easy mode.

Every fighting game had some form of zoning in it, but only the SF franchise had such a strong projectile zoning game. Fighting games should have a balance between offense and defense. But if your projectiles are so good that most characters can't get through, then it becomes unfair.

I play Morrigan, almost no one can get through my fireballs. But unlike you, I don't try to justify it and say they suck. I know I'm cheap and I admit it.
