Lastly, Hit Box has put up a quick tutorial covering how to perform a standing 720 using the hit box controller. The Hit Box is a gaming controller designed specifically for fighting games that has 4 directional buttons instead of a traditional joystick. If you are interested in purchasing a Hit Box controller or would like some more information, you can visit their website here.
They have also uploaded a grappler montage set to the 1812 Overture.
Aaaand Eventhubs commenters reach a new low, ganging up on a child.
A new low? He wants to be a competitive player, he's gonna get lit up like one. Random slides from any other Bison and the player would get blown up and put on blast. But because this one is 9 years old, he's exempt? No way, that's not fair and that's BS.
Again, if he wants to be a competitive tournament player, he's just as liable to get blown up and put on blast like everybody else.
*Daigo mashes a dp* People: There goes the legendary daigo showing us psychic-like prediction skills!
*Justin Wong mashes ex messiah* People: Wow, justin wong is exhibiting his ability to make incredible reads just like the vet we known him as.
*Noah lands slides against a guile who's pressing buttons 80% of the time* People: Wow you ****ing noob! Never take risks even though pro players do it all the time. I don't care if your balls haven't even dropped yet you deserved to be berated on the internet by nerds just because you aren't perfect!
After the years away, I did not expect my first Tomo video in nearly 20 years to be him getting blown up by an 8-year-old in the back of a party bus.
And soooo many questions ... Why is Tomo at Noah's birthday party? Is he letting him win? Does Tomo play still? Is he practicing? Coming back?
What is going on?!
And I like the PD video. Nice touch.
Legendary Guile? 5:02... Yes.. Because everyone stays on the ground for Bison's ultra and risks a 50/50 mix up. Sorry, but he's letting him win.
Chill out guys. It's just a kid. I think some people are just jealous they aren't getting any love. There is nothing wrong with boosting the confidence of our youth.
Psycho punisher landing essentially every other match (against ANY character is already laughable, but GUILE holy god), no punishes against the one or 2 blocked psycho punishers despite the huge window, and Guile getting hit on another character's wake up. Tomo was the man back in the day, but that was another time and another game. His legend status is back then. Now he is just another rookie Guile. No bashing on Noah (even though with real talent like winrich I would love to) because that's just counter productive. I feel the "legendary Guile" title may be extremely misleading.
@14
Speak for yourself. No one is jealous of Noah. There's nothing to be jealous of...
Stop lying to the kid, he's gonna grow up thinking he's good then get P'ed on at a tourney and freak out.
well, to be fair.. Tomo is still a rookie.. heck I'd say he's pobably still a complete beginner when it comes to SFIV. And he obviously wasn't playing serious. And to the kid noah's credit.. he does have the "raw talent" and now, skills that befits his "prodigy" title. I mean, most kids his age just doesn't play the game the way he does.. which is in a comparatively "high" level of play, since he does know what he's doing. Most kids just mash moves and don't understand how to play the game. Noah on the other hand plays exceptionally well.
I hope Tomo is planning on getting back to playing at least on a somewhat casual competitive play again. Maybe even participate in EVO 2012. By then I'm hoping he'll be back to his old form and show people why he was a legendary player back in the day.
Tomo doesn't have to play SF ever again, HE IS LEGEND.
Noah, good stuff keep up the good work!
It doesn't seem like Tomo really learned the game at all. He did random FADCs on his flash kicks, but that's it. He did pretty well, considering that he was probably not aware of Bison's frame traps/cross-ups and played pretty much entirely on reaction. Those psychic flash kicks were actually pretty freakin good.
first off, i want mention this is absolutely ridiculous for this to match to happen. lemme set something straight real quick. tomo has not played street fighter since before noahs older brother was born. how disrespectful is it for this kid to call out the legend of tomo ohira? im not even joking when i say this. can i just go and call out mohammed ali to a boxing match when i never held a title in boxing? in all seriousness, this is a very classless move by whoever organized this whole ordeal. i am putting 0 blame towards the kid who seems to be a real good kid and very courteous. the blame lies in the dad and/or traveling circus. im gonna go ahead and make a thread on srk discussing this and i want to see what people think. the kid is only 9 years old which i why im going to tread very carefully and only state the obvious. many people have been very nice to noah cause of his age and i think this general courtesy has been somehow misconstrued and people jocking or nut riding per say. tomo is a personal friend of mine and this is the final straw. why didnt they call out someone that plays this game? why doesnt noah enter tourneys to gain respect? how do you call out someone who hasnt touched a game for over 15 years and think it deserves any attention........ i would play noah for endless amounts of money but im 100% sure this wouldnt happen because this kids manager/sponsor is smarter than that. i am really disappointed that this happened and if mods decide to remove my point for being too honest then so be it.
The thing about prodigies in all fields including games is that the majority of them are special only as kids but when adulthood hits they become just average achievers ...
I find nothing wrong with noah riding the prodigy train for all it's worth but it's in his best interest if he works on his strategy 'cause it looks like he just spams regardless of spacing and situation.
Watson post a link to your SRK thread when you make it please.
@25 I agree with Watson. This is a total disgrace. Noah's people are a bunch of idiots for making this match. However, if Tomo takes his time to learn SF4, he'll be really good.
I agree with Watson. But I have to choose my words carefully because last time I said anything about this kid and his sponsorship my comment got removed. It seems like you're not allowed to say anything about this kid or his sponsorship if you're not dickriding him.
I like how if Noah does random risky stuff, he's too legit to quit but if anybody opposes the 9-year old, you're scum in the community. I swear you guys are mentally wacked.
@watson,First Mike How are you I hope all is well, why are you not questioning Tomo Nobody can make any body jump off a brige Tomo works for toyota and help arrange this match as Tomo explained to me that he as well did not relize how good noah was untill he went to super arcade to train and discussed Noah with a few players and was told Noah was a descent player.Plus tomo drove from La to Sm california on is own Nobody was in the back seat with a gun to his head apon arrival that I saw,Plus For The record www.thetravelingcircus.net had nothing to do with this match cus Tomo and his promotional company wanted to deal with Noah himself in Just a friendly promotional match to promote the zion IQ.As well Noah was contacted by Toyota and paid by toyota, Noah only wanted to play because Toyota offered him enough to get a nintendo Ds3d,Noah also has not intended to disrespect the legend at all as you know as well Noah was very nervous about the match so what did I do As a father I thought it would be great for Noah to go to the legendary super arcade and hang out with the WEST Coast Pros "Mike Watson" and practice for his match in such an awesome setting for true gamers. So all questions and concerns Please forward to Tomo I hope I have help spread the clouds a bit so you can see a much clearer setting thank you once again for all your help on Noahs birthday......P.S Noah gains nothing for beating Tomo in a game he only trained for in a week Im sure it would of been the same outcome if they played hyper fighting In Tomo Favor.
In a way, Noah's (whether or not #38 is Noah or his brother/sponsor/etc) intention are suspicious. Now I get it. itt was his birthday, Tomo was an invitee who clearly saw the camera. No foul play here right? However, I wonder if he knew it would be up on youtube where hundreds of people who always wanted to see him make a comeback or even some footage of him playing SF4, will eventually call him out a fraud or at least be disappointed. If he did agree to it, then although a noble act, ultimately a bad decision for the above reasons. I for one was disappointed to see the God of SF2 just get (yes, ridiculed) by getting his butt kicked by a 9 year old kid.
Let the poor kids brain develope a little more. He will be great.
ive not seen the vid yet, but Tomo was a legend and could take apart anyone back in SF2 days. This guy was the original grandmaster so deserves respect for that alone.
its incredib;t lame to take this as seriously as you guys are. the kid is 9 years old, and he placed top 32 in evo when some people are too scared to go at all. Grow up...losers.
No it was top 48. I am not going to front. I don't like seeing a cat who has not played a sf game in years be carted out to play (with to my knowledge no prep time) a game with totally different mechanics than what he was use to. I am not taking anything away from the kid at all. Also why did he walk off when asked about Winrinch? I am sure Tomo did it in all good fun though but I want to read Watson's take on this.
Why is this kid considered good again? You do realize that if we all had SF 4 back when we were his age, we would be as "good" as him, right?
half the 09ers here dont even know who Tomo is. try the best SF2 player in the world at his time. made guys like Kuni (OG Gief), Schaeffer (OG Guile), Watson (OG Ken/Ryu. although he was his closest competitor) look like Noah lol. the kids ok for his age. nothing "prodigy" about it. Daigo won his first tourny when he was only 12 i believe, in Vampire Saviour. not to mention there was no Youtube or online threads where kids could read for free and up there game in a matter of hours. so all in all, Noah is ok for his age...and Tomo hasnt played in Lord knows how long. if anyone here actually thinks Noah>>Tomo...you guys are absolute morons. give Tomo any amount of time he wants with AE2012 and watch him dominate most of the comp
I dont get it. I didnt watch the match but it seems anytime noah is playing he spams stupid stuff. When i was his age i had this stuff beaten out of me with multiple losses. I'm pretty sure me as a nine-year-old could mash noah's face in. You know why? because my uncle wanted me to actually leanr how to play not rely on some behaviour that is at most natural for kids when i get older. Someone should be teaching noah how to play not cheer him on for this. I wish i knew about the FGC when i was his age because i would have been the prodigy and yall woulda been astonished that a kid actually practiced different moves and knew stuff man. Damn man.
Such historic match filmed in a such crappy quality =\
