The final installment of the community tiers poll project for Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition v2012 has been posted. We are encouraging readers to vote on the match up stats for Ibuki, Juri, Ken, Makoto, M.Bison, Oni, Rose, Rufus, Ryu, Sagat, Sakura, Seth, T.Hawk, Vega, Yang, Yun, and Zangief. Here is a quick rundown on what the project is all about.
As with any tier list, this one will also be hotly debated, but we're asking members of the community to vote on game's match ups that they're familiar with.
For example, if you feel the Chun-Li vs. Adon fight is 5-5, 6-4, 7-3 or whatever score, we'd like you to jump on the forums and cast a vote for how you think the game's various bouts stack up.
This is open to the entire community to vote — but this will not replace the other tier listings on the site. When the results are compiled, this will be clearly labeled as a community poll tier list, to try and gather and see what the general opinion of the match ups are right now in v2012 by the playerbase at large.
With part 3 now up, this completes the community tiers poll project. If you missed part 2, you can still vote on the match ups for Dhalsim, Dudley, E. Honda, El Fuerte, Evil Ryu, Fei Long, Gen, Gouken, Guile, Guy and Hakan, or you can simply look over the results of what the community thinks so far.

I wouldnt trust the community to do these sort of things, leave it to the top players. There are like 5 people who know what they are doing in this game versus 1000 who dont know but pretend to know. At least this is my experience in online play, I have only 5 people saved on my friendlist who I think are truly good out of the other countless players I played over the 2 years history (almost 3) of this game.
top tier are characters i lose to
bottom tier my character because that way I have an excuse for losing
mid tier some characters I don't care about
Whose dumb idea was this anyway monkeys wouldn't have even tried this its so dumb 86% of the community dnt even know how to play.
Anyone who wants to be good will be, because the knowledge and tutorials are out there (plus training mode).
I think these events are fine, just take it with a grain of salt. You're still apart of this community, remember that. Or put out material to help people get better.
Why all the criticism? Tier lists made by top players are obviously useful, but a tier list made by average players could give valuable information to, you know, average players. Because some characters are more effective in relation to others considering different skill levels: just imagine two guys with little knowing of the game one playing Seth and the other one playing Honda and they'll tell you Honda wins 9-1. Hell some characters even go up or down the tier list just by playing online or offline.
end of the day this is a bit of fun, and its far far easier as we can see by the posts on almost everything to knock things down rather than build things up. especially when it comes to the internet thanks to its faceless nature. Even if it is a bit weak
Honestly speaking, I don't like tier lists. However, I would have supported this community effort in order to contribute just a bit for this website. Too bad I haven't had the chance to play AE 2012 because I left all my consoles and games in America, and I have no one to play with, and ain't seeking, SSFIV AE.
I could use my experience from SSFIV along with my small experience in AE--which I dropped because of the changes, but I feel like I'd be cheating myself and the community.
#8 those are just combos, option selects and whatnot. Those are the smallest parts of being good in my opinion. You need experience for the most part, so you know the options of your opponent, your options and spacing, and so you develop the motorical skills, you need a certain inteligence to know what could happen, and how you can set up your offense or get the opponent to do what you want them to do. Watching videos is just the icing on the cake, you need to understand the fighting engine to know how to apply the knowledge you can get out of tutorials. Most people lack some important skills and the motivation to learn them. They do moves randomly, and dont know why they do them, and either hit or dont. After a while they get a feeling on when they are most likely to hit them, but still dont know why they hit or what they are doing, they just do it.
Ya, because the community is always right about things.
