The LG Android SF4 HD stuff is kind of excruciating to watch. The frame rate of the game makes it seem like the stream is lagging and it's tough to watch people play in a competitive tournament when they very obviously have no idea what they're doing. Nap time til 2012 is streaming...
I saw some flow chart ken scrub dp mashing and doing full screen hurricane kicks against wolfkrone, painful to watch.
Now this phone crap. Too painful for me to watch so I'm done, enjoy.
This is the worst stream I've ever watched. Also, not buying anything LG for the rest of my life.
I mean, phone game is freaking horrible but it keeps disconnecting too. Not to mention laggy stream. This sucked big time.
Ahh the hate for this is pure child stupidity, this is an LG promotion tourney so why wouldn't they play the LG game THEY ARE PROMOTING?
2nd, about the disconnect issue, they are using wireless with hundreds of other people around them, also using wireless. Ever turn a microwave on when you're using wireless? if messes up. Maybe someone was making a burrito or somehing in the kitchen, maybe stuff got messed up somewhere, point is who cares? This is not going to take out regular tourneys and its good for what it is, a cell phone game.
Hating it because they are not showing herp derp 2012 casuals is freaking stupid and childish. If you want the community to grow you should support this, period, its just them trying to promote street fighter.
I'd play the crappier phone version for the money...*shrugs*
They could make 10x more money just sponsoring an angry birds game convention or something than putting up 20k + tourney setup fees. Yes they want you to buy their stuff...they are a company, but the fact they got people IN THE COMMUNITY to run it and do it how we would want it and not just hire some suits is the point.
I see your comeback now, if it was how we would want it, it would be nothing but 2012. I get it, but they still have to promote the game that's the whole point its even being held.
If you ever want video games to get anywhere close to how they are in Asia, more money needs to get involved, period. If you want it to stagnate in a pool of 2k viewers then please keep saying F&^% companies taking a chance.
They could throw an Angry Birds event, but they already have a firm hold on that demographic. But gamers that see the devices as a serious platform for quality games? Not so much.
My point is that this is little more than an extended LG ad and has very little to do with "supporting Street Fighter".
k i just found out why but i saw them play the home version of street fighter so are there 2 street fighter tournaments or what?
lol lol lol.
LG sponsors crappy handheld tournament = Nerd rage! Boycott! Death to LG! The participants are sellouts!
Capcom supports SOPA, the end of the internet = Thank you sir, may I have another?
You fanboys are pathetic.
To everyone:
All I was trying to say was that it seems a bit silly to put on a huge competitive tournament for something that is obviously unplayable on a major competitive level. I wasn't bashing the existence of the LG version, because I'll probably want it as a time killer, but obviously the real content of this stream is going to come from 2012.
@24
A microwave with proper shielding shouldn't cause your wifi to freak out. The perforated metal door, and the metal housing is supposed to act as a faraday cage, keeping radiation inside.
If your microwave is causing wifi interference, that's definitely not normal and the shielding on it may be compromised. As your own link suggests, get it checked out pronto.
Lol wolfe is so sick. So obvious he was going to win. Well played.
I stopped watching a couple hours ago because they were only showing the phone matches. I just checked again to see they are still doing that, but apparently the results of the xbox version are already in. Was the real qualifying tournament on stream at all or was it nothing but mobile SF all the way?
At LG defenders: the problem is not that LG is supportive of fighting games, neither that they want to promote their product. The problem is that this tournament is organized by well known people from the fighting game community and that there are many awesome players attending and both those facts create expectations. I came to watch high level players competing in a game they're intimately familiar with. Instead I got big names from the SFIV community playing a game none of the mastered and some clearly had never played before.
Extra galling was knowing there were great matches being played but not shown as the promotional tournament was being streamed.
In any case, if the actual matches were broadcast too then I can still see them on twitch tv, and that would still be entertaining.
did anyone else like the phone tournament?
it was pretty cool being able to see p1's perspective
I honestly liked the phone tourney. I thought it was pretty cool. Everyone that lost on the phone tourney were salty...but in a good way. It was something new and fun. Big-ups to LG for promoting and putting on a free tourney. Everyone thats hating....lets see you do the same!!!
8 minute slow mode. Really LevelUp? F-ck this sh-t, I'm regretting why I ever subscribed to you in the first place.
Spooky streams are much better, is a true bro to the streammonsters and overall much more enjoyable. Your streaming is a pile of sh-t and add to the fact, the chat 8min slow mode and the SCR bannings are ass. Learn from Spooky and APPLY YOURSELVES.
@31 Thanks for the info. I'll look for those in the twitch archives then. (And apparently I slept through the real tournament.)
Wow, Wolfkrone! Hey is there a stream archive or youtube version of both tournaments?
I wonder how much LG is paying them to actually hold a tournament for this trash?
