Street Fighter X Tekken nearly finished, MvC4 not in the works

Street Fighter X Tekken nearly finished, MvC4 not in the works Development on Street Fighter X Tekken is winding down according to Capcom's Yoshinori Ono, and there is nothing in the works concerning a Marvel vs. Capcom 4 at the moment, commented Vs. series producer Ryota Niitsuma.

Niitsuma added he probably won't be attending Comic-Con 2012, so it doesn't sound like Capcom will have any thing to announce involving Ryota any time soon, as he usually attends these trade shows to promote and talk about the games he's working on.

Here's the run down.

Yoshinori Ono: We have advance final preparations towards for Street Fighter X Tekken! Pre-orders are being taken just now! Please keep up your support! Nearly finished... it will be...

Since It's been decided that there are no DLC characters in development for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, is any chance we can have the UMvC3 roster in Marvel vs. Capcom 4? — Kickass667

Ryota Niitsuma: There's nothing in the works on Marvel vs. Capcom 4 right now.

But if I was in charge of it, I'd make sure at least all the Capcom characters were in it.

Will you be going to Comic-Con 2012 this year? — Anawnnemus

Ryota Niitsuma: Probably not going to happen this year.

Hmmmn, nice to know, I guess.
I'm not expecting a MvC 4 so soon.

I'd guesstimate MvC4 won't be on the radar for about 2.5 years.

And yea, not much Capcom can do in that time if Marvel decides to exclude existing people from their side. :<

Why people ask for MvC4? For real, it's much better to ask for CvC or a new Project Justice.

Yeah i tend to agree another MvC title is unlikely and unwarranted.

I don't really believe Capcom nowadays. Everything is focus on tekken x sf now so I doubt they would announce anything mvc3 related. I doubt they won't update once more though. IMO umvc3 was awesome screw the haters. Of course it could have used some more mvc2 characters the same ssfiv could have used more 3rd strike and alpha 3 characters. But that's life. We got a new games not mvc2.5 and sf3.5

WTF? Do people want a new MvC every year or something? LET UMVC3 LIVE ON. We've got a whole 'nother ten years ahead of us to break down the game until we start hearing about a new one in the works. That's what fighting games are about. Sure you release updates, but you don't actually start the next sequel in the series until you've let the previous game be completely broken down. It's not Call of Duty where a sequel comes out every year and the previous version is made obsolete. So I gotta ask. Are these fighting fans, or COD fans?

lol why would you ask about mvc4 instead of another iteration of umvc3 or dlc..? ehhh doesn't matter they said the same thing about vanilla marvel.

@7 while i agree it would be nice to have a very long lasting game I doubt capcom would allow umvc3 to go past two years. I personally love the game and feel that there is a lot more to discover so im happy with it staying around for a while
P.S i wouldn't mind a new character from both sides per year to change things up a little

Well it's been 4 years technically speaking since sfiv dropped and it's been updated 3xs. Seeing that this year is the 25th anniversary I wonder if V would be announced?!

Maybe a Marvel Super Heroes 2 announcement in September or New York Comic Con?

I am surprised that they are admitting no DLC for Ultimate Marvel. I guess it is alittle early though. Heres to hoping for Asura.

I think it is about time we get some type of word on SF5. Its been 4 years, that's a good window to release a new iteration. So here is to hoping that happens too.

well that's nice to know that all of the UMVC3 Capcom characters will make it to an MVC4 years from now, though i think some characters should have time away from MVC4 to make way for other characters because if they were to bring in all the Capcom characters from UMVC3 there wouldn't be much room for more characters, maybe like what 6 more characters? well unless MVC4 happens to come out in a point in time where games could hold more disc space

I'm personally sick of crossovers, they need to take a break from them. I would rather they focus on the next big thing after SFxT or allow Ono a nice vacation. He's been pumping out SF titles for the past 3-4 years now.

A post with constructive discussion? I'm impressed, EH.

On topic: I agree that the MVC3 series needs time to marinate. Give it time to grow and be explored. At the same time, a couple of characters down the line wouldn't hurt. The metagame will at least be somewhat developed by then, so all we'd have to do is see where those characters fit into the grand scheme of things.

I really wanted SFXT to be my game to play I really loved all the ridiculous crap they threw in looked super fun but not one single Capcom character I have wanted has been announced so far and only 2 tekken characters I like have Been announced in the game as of right now I really hope alot changes in the short amount of time left because for such an epic crossover this roster is booty to my taste I'm sure there are people who are content with the character selections but I'm not one of them

@16 Come on man. AE 2012 launched a month ago...

@14 The only reason they released AE is because Japanese arcades were still stuck with regular SF4 cabinets, and when SSF4 came out, people stayed home and played on their consoles and no one came to the arcade since they didn't get a SSF4 arcade machine. They made AE because the arcades were losing money, and they added 4 new characters plus balancing to make up for the late arcade release. It's everyone else's fault for begging Capcom to release a console version of the arcade version. And then people b*tched about the balance forgetting the game wasn't even made for them. Why does nobody know this even though this has been discussed 5000 times?

MvC3's arcade machines were upgraded to Ultimate on time, so we have nothing to worry about.

they better have dlc characters for umvc3 because people are mostly using vanilla characters or at least buff the new characters but i doubt that they will probably just get nerfed like PW

Niitsuma not at Comic Con pretty much says there will be no UMVC 3 AE. I think they are done with the game and will plan on MvC 4 later down the road like in two years.

Other than that, what happen to that Hypermeter mode they said they were doing to release?

When he said "all of the Capcom characters," he's referring to all of the UMvC3 Capcom characters, since the question asked if we would keep the entire roster and just add onto it. He doesn't mean EVERY Capcom character, just every one from the UMvC3 roster.

My guess is that Nitsuma's team will make DarkStalkers 4 while Dimps makes Street Fighter 5. Dimps will probably be working on SFxT version 2.0 for the next year or so, though.

When MvC4 is made, I think every UMvC3 Capcom character should return except for Felicia or Hsien Ko. The game needs a guy Darkstalker character!

I also think that every Marvel character should return except for Sentinel, Shuma & Jean Grey. Replace them with Juggernaut, Emma Frost & a Spider-Man villain!
