Capcom's Christian Svensson dished out some new details about how crossover games come about from within the company, stating that there's a pretty natural process these titles go through to see if things will work for both parties involved.
Capcom seems much more invested in intercompany crossovers than any other gaming company. But does Capcom actively seek them out? When Capcom was done working with SNK, did somebody say, "OK, who's next? Tatsunoko? Maybe Namco?" Or is each collaboration (Marvel, SNK, Tatsunoko, Namco) the result of an isolated incident?

Svensson: It's not like we sit down and say, "OK guys, we need a crossover for 2014, what's it gonna be?" These things just sort of happen organically, and when internally the right idea comes along, we approach whatever entity it is to see if we can make something work for both sides.
Sometimes it works out (like Marvel or Tatsunoko). Sometimes it doesn't (and you never hear about the ones where the conversations don't progress... and no, I can't/won't discuss them, sorry).
That'd be weird, Storm...I mean, Capcom already has a Shonen Jump partner (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) so that'd be the middle ground.
I say have a demon-based crossover game with Firebrand, DmC characters, Onimusha, Devil Kings...get the drift? An internal crossover, yes, but still, quite awesome.
They my have to make 2 Different Versions Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat one game whit Blood and One Game whitout Blood

vs SNK was already a good franchise. Should take advantage of the fighting game community right now while it's getting big. Pretty much everyone that plays the current hit games likes and wants a vsSNK.

The problem is, the people that want a CVS 3 will whine when they realize that it won't be a broken mess like CVS 2 was, and that newer players will actually be able to get into the game.

Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter(This one is pretty obvious)
Capcom vs. SNK 3(Everyone's asking for it so I think it should go down.)
Megaman in a Smash Bros Title( If you have Mario & Sonic then Megaman is a must, Only then will the Trinity be complete)
Sega vs Capcom(Too many parallels, It would be a good game to see who is finally the best, Street Fighter vs. Virtua Fighter, Final Fight vs. Streets Of Rage, Sonic vs. Megaman, House Of The Dead vs. Resident Evil, Bayonetta vs. Devil May Cry, You get the point).
In all the first one to probably happen out of all of these will probably be CvS 3, Just cause so many people are demanding it so I would say that would happen next, After that then Maybe by then Another Smash Bros should come out & maybe they will decided to put Classic Megaman in, Next either Mk vs Sf or Sega vs. Capcom, Then only because licensing would be hell Shonen Jump vs Capcom, On the bright side Capcom worked on 2 of Shonen Jump's titles those being Black Cat & Jojo.
Capcom vs snk 3 with king of fighters XIII charater designs or street fighter 4 don't really matter which one. You could mix in parrying(sf3),Focus attacks(sf4),Dream cancels(kof),and Make some sort of NeoMax Ultras. Oh, and add some 3v3 matches again. I think it would be right for the fighting game community.
Capcom vs. capcom.... that would be col to see. You'd likely see more side characters from the various universes, hell you might even see megaman bosses like Cut Man or Time man, or even Oil Man (the latter 2 being my favorite bosses)

I just want a new JoJo's bizarre adventure game for this generation with lots of unique characters (which there are plenty in the series), existing mechanics or new mechanics, keep the in game soundtrack (vanilla ice especially) and balance the game (no pet shop plz) and I'm sold. Jojo's bizarre adventure was one of the most hardcore fighting game on the Dreamcast, ps1 hands down.
Maybe some crossovers in the future but how about a new DarkStalkers or a fresh new fighting game franchise.

Does it really matter that sword users fight against un-armed fighters? Look at SFxT, fireball spammers vs non fireball fighters.
Vega got a Claw, Cody got a Knife. It's not that a weapon always kills someone, it's just a game, doesn't really matter what tools there are.

Interesting posts. I really liked TVC and I hope that they continue in that direction. Guard crush or whatever you spell it, advancing guard and some other things were cool in the game. The characters were interesting and Capcom had a good roster for that game. Saki, Soki, Batsu, like come on. Other series of different games are interesting but TVC was such an awesome game. They should continue the series.
CvS3/SVC2 is the only crossover I want to see. SF4 style animation for capcom's version, and KOF13 animation for SNK's version. And hopefully snk can make a better game than that turd svc chaos

you have a point. but personaly for me when i look at a video game crossover i tend to look at how similar the games are,how well they would fit, fan base, storyline and....sometimes popularity.
for example, alot of people in the fighting game communtiy want to see a darksalkers vs. soul calibur....why....(hipocrite alert) i am a sucker for crossovers and will probably pick it up any way...mabe...but to me that X over doesnt make sense.
the only crossover i would like to see for soul calibur would probably be...last blade, samuri showdown, or mabe even a dynesty warriers vs. soul cal.

@49 no, they made x-men vs street fighter then went on to make marvel super heroes vs street fighter which is not the same, what #7, #31 and I want is a game with all/most of the x-men from the comics, including those that never made it into vs games

Capcom v. Disney is by far my favorite suggestion, simply for the sheer hilarity and unlikelihood of it. It could be a series of games which follow a Street Fighter v. X-Men to Marvel v. Capcom style expansion and progression, such as:
1) Street Fighter v. Disney Princesses
2) Capcom Fighting All-Stars v. Disney Animation
3) Capcom v. Disney (including non-animated characters like Jack Sparrow)

Id like to see Capcom vs Namco, Marvel vs DC, Capcom vs Shonen Jump. if Tatsunoko can happen then Shonen Jump or Bandai can happen. IMO
How about Capcom v. the Bible?
The Bible side could have such characters as:
* Moses - He could turn random sticks into snakes, conjure plague of frogs, flies, and rivers of blood. In a special move, he could call on the Red Sea to descend on an opponent to temporarily drown them.
* Elijah - He could bring fire from the sky, raise the dead to stick zombies on people, ride a whirlwind in his chariot and knock opponents out. In a special move, he could prophesy a losing match and rage quit before it even begins.
* Michael the Archangel - Besides being able to summon an entire legion of angels, he could pretty much do whatever the hell he wanted. He's, like, sent by God. Accordingly, he would have to have an auto-win move.
* Samson - Um, he'd be the grappler.
* King David - To preserve meter, he could send his best friends into fight while he sires children with their wives. Then when his friends die, he could summon his army, including the children he's sired, and open a total can on his opponents. He could also play his harp and sing his opponents to sleep so that he could obliterate them (a la Jigglypuff).
* St. Peter - Oh Gosh, he could, um, walk on water for a few seconds and, um, he'd carry a knife and could cut opponents ears off. He also holds the keys to heaven, so he'd be a good tag partner with Michael the Archangel. In fact, Michael would probably be a useless fighter without Peter. Peter would have to open the gates of heaven for Michael to get out.
* Lucifer - Aw, hell, just give him Firebrand's moveset ...
The possibilities are endless! Jesus, though, probably wouldn't be a good addition. The whole "turn the other cheek" thing probably wouldn't work well in a fighting game. And God Almighty wouldn't be a good end boss because he'd be literally unbeatable. Otherwise, though, it has the makings of a great crossover. Do you think Capcom and Christianity could negotiate contract terms to have the game produced?

Shonen Jump vs Capcom
Namco vs Capcom would be cool as well and they could also add in some Dragonball Z or even GT characters since Namco Bandai has the license for those characters.
or even a triple crossover would be cool or even a quadro crossover.
Well capcom has also done stuff with Cyberconnect, Namco, and etc, Shonen Jump characters shouldn't be a difficult collaboration.
