I lost it from the moment I heard the PikaPii music.
I'm too tired, and it's just making me laugh.
And people wonder why nobody plays 3rd Strike Online anymore.
@12
http://www.gamespot.com/street-fighte...
you havent watched many 3rd strike vids have you? :P
I agree with GoukiRocha and arsenballz about this.
Yes taunts do things in this game (which is kinda odd), but most people online have this tendency to taunt or teabag or wavedash over the bodies (as is the case in UMvC3).
Personally, if I can tick someone off that is so full of themself that they disrespect me by quitting early, I don't care if I get hated. >;D
@13
ah, my bad. i didnt actually watch the video since dont care much for rageblablabla videos.
@19 It has to do with a sense of pride. A good analogy would be if someone beats you at basketball (say you really like it) and instead of being sporting, they do something incredibly disrespectful to you and act full of themselves. Legally, you can't punch the person since you'd get arrested for aggravated assault but most likely you would give anything to make them shut up. With online, instead you can rage quit and take the win away from them.
After all, games are meant to be fun. I don't find it fun when someone is teabagging my character on my screen.
@12 Spoken like a true scrub. JR is a 3S Legend, stop spewing bs like you know what your talking about. If you met JR irl you'd know that hes one of the nicest people you'll ever meet! Also, Evo doesn't give a damn whether a player gets taunted or not.
@everyone those players that rage quit are decent players. they are not your every day scrubs. secondly I find it funny that Remy player RobertThunder he Raged quit on me when i perfected him in Ranked mode with Hugo. I am glad he was exposed in this video
taunting when enemy has no life is what i like to call a "coward's taunt"
like, sure, sometimes it's just funny given a situation... but often people do it because they think "har har! u don't have enough life left to do anything to me. i can easily chip u for the win. i think i'll try to act superior now"
any time someone pulls that coward taunt crap, i make sure to taunt them nice and early in the next round or fight - showing them how it's done... taunt so your opponent knows that "s*** just got real" from the get go.
best thing is tearing up a person who just "coward taunted" the round or fight before hand.
wow that song annoyed me at first but gdamn did it get catchy
Taunts do something in 3rd Strike, that's why I don't care if someone taunts.
But I wish there was a way to disable taunts in SF4. It pisses me off sometimes. I don't ragequit, but there are times that I just stop playing, let the clock go out and kick the taunting f@ggot out the lobby.
I play the game to have fun and to fight good fights. Taunting is no fun in SF4.
jr is an american 3s legend, like it or not. it's not like he just got good at the game. anybody can be good at a game that's been out for years. he's been good at this game forever. from the age of George Posadas (act like you know) to 5 star he's always been up there. he's a stand up guy to boot. his kid's middle name is akuma...seriously...let me say this again...his kid's middle name is AKUMA! if you can beat jr now, it took you 12 years to do it, think about that.
Considering that most 3S pros have denounced 3SO, he's playing against mid-level players AT BEST.
That makes the video pretty pointless.
Geez, a lot of you get reaaaally salty about taunts, apparently.
Being taunted is no excuse for rage-quitting and taunting doesn't automatically make you an ass. But if you're going to taunt, you better be able to back it up.
Or do it at the end of the match. :p
So much hate for JR in here... pretty damn astonishing.
Maybe taunt piss of some people, I actually use taunt when the player is just back and waiting, of course there are some characters that need to play defensive but damn I got more pissed by a rog honda or bison down and crounch than a taunt...
So I found taunt good when a player is too defensive, or play so scruby some times ( scruby like people with high bp and pp doing random things)
I think all ragequitters should be exposed no matter what the game, expose those damn idiots, so I know to avoid them, because just like the fustrating morons who teabag and taunt every chance they get, are ruining the fun of the game, so are the cry baby in need of anger management losers who rage quit and take wins away.
A so called legend should be more respectful to the obvious new players that he is beating. all hes doing is making them feel like sh!t and then taking it further by trying to expose them on the internet. that is just low imo.. those players were not good, and remembering when i got into the community i just wanted to work hard and improve. to have this done to someone trying their best .. smh.. then making them the butt of some joke to make yourself feel good and relevant... wow. theres a reason people trash talk 3s, there it is. on GGPO when i started 2 years ago.. the elitists where even worse. terrible community 3s has, all they do is mock new players.
@25 you are an idiot, like most people on eventhubs which by the way blew up when sf4 came out. Q has to do multiple taunts to activate his health buff.
I've always cringe when someone ragequits on me. I think those folks are so sad.
That being said, when someone posts an entire album that consists of him runnin' over folks who cant stop pressing buttons, while falling for the same exploits again and again, and him taunting at the end when they have absolutley no hope of coming back?
Then !SPLAT! the ragequit?
Its his masturbation. From beginning to end.
Its like he's showing how "gdlk" he is that folks quit on him. And now he has to show the world.
We get it dude, now pull your pants up.
these comments on here just made me realize how many people on this site either havent played or dident last long in the tournament scene. If you get this butt hurt about taunting i can just imagine how hard you would cry over the crap-talking at a tournament. Its called growing a pair so what if it hurts your feelings its like life get over it and comeback stronger or leave. Just cause someone is being slightly rude doesnt mean they are a bad person but rage quitting is straight way to say screw you and I cant take a bit of crap talk.
@46
Q only needs 3 taunts to reach his MAX health. any other taunts during the round are for pure entertainment. Kuroda was being an ass to Justin Wong because JWong lamed it out on Raoh at Evo...one of Kurodas close friends. something like that, but all i know is that Kuroda was resenting JWong. even after raping him and Ricky...he didnt allow Justin to shake hands with Hayao or himself.
@47. Right on brother. So what's the pride in taunting mid to low level players? And posting a video online? F-ck you.
Also 3S online is ass, Denjin is unparryable in this sh-t.
Congrats bro, you just proved how much of an assh-le you are. Take this to your grave bro.
why is he a 3rd strike legend, cause he gave jwong some problems?he plays good but ive seen more solid gameplay.
All you people insulting the man for taunting even when the character has no health have no clue what they are talking about.
It's called muscle memory. Even if you don't need the extra damage, you train yourself to taunt during stun or during any situation where you have the time to taunt. That way, when you actually do need it, you aren't stuck wasting precious time contemplating "do I need to do this now," especially when you a situation arises where whether you need it or not is differentiated by a single pixel of health.
Also, ragequitters should feel bad for ragequitting, so I am okay with this video.
@50 you would have done well not to respond to my comment. I'm an interview with justing wong he himself said kuroda didn't shake his hand because of a cultural difference, he wasn't being a dick. If you know anything about kuroda you would know he is very socially awkward and doesn't speak to many people at all. For him to shake a strangers hand would be rare, this is out of justins mouth. And like #55 said its called muscle memory. I main Q and I've trained myself to taunt every chance I get. One extra taunt wouldn't exactly constitute for him actually taunting Justin. I used to main akuma and I also trained myself to taunt during stuns because of the damage buff on the next attack.
I took a dump earlier today.
It was pretty legendary IMHO.
Oh well I rage quitted in the past because guess what .. We're human being with emotion. ALthough I felt bad about it after.
Sometime you have to accept that your ass will get pwned. Most of these ppl that Rage quit were choking really bad underd Jr pressure . Which probably added to the saltiness. Ive been here myself. The nervousnes of not wanting to get raped add to the chokiness and the saltyness.
The taunt was the finishing blow.
But you have to control yourself. Even the beast got raped.
What's Third Strike?
(It's a joke. Get it? Because the game is DEAD.)
I was able to watch the whole thing though only for the fact that the music kept me there.
Looking at videos of NoizyChild playing Third Strike, it's no wonder why he'd get so salty about good players being online. :P

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVTrxo...
The mid-level players "AT BEST" should be happy that JR is online, because they won't get any better by playing against other scrubs all day. Maybe if they kept playing, studied, and learned from their mistakes, they wouldn't get blown up all day for free.
With that said, there's never an excuse for rage quitting, and those who do it deserve to be exposed. Good stuff to JR, and nice song to boot.
@56
for the sake of this stupid argument i'll agree with you that Kuroda is "socially akward" (even though he held Q's head at an SBO along Hayao who was dressed as a female). explain the fact that he taunted 4 TIMES instead of 3? careful. dont slip up and say Kuroda made a mistake lol.
Give the guy a break, that's some sound 3S play. Good mix-ups and pressure, and you've got to be on point to catch anybody with that lv. 2 super. This is the kind of guy I don't mind losing to, rather than every little smart-ass on Xbox Live who likes to run away, anti-air, and wait to punish the whole match (and then taunt post-KO like they did something).
OFFENSIVE play, that's what I respect.
In most circumstances only losers taunt after a match. I think friends, and when two similarly skilled players fight is OKAY though. Otherwise it's bad sportsmanship and is used to get take power - probably because they lack something some of it in real life.
Regardless of whether this guy is good or not, it's the fact that he's taunting people who are obviously below his level that's pissing people off.
Taunting in 3S may do stuff, but it's obvious when people are doing it just for the sake of acting superior.
Now if you really want to show your superiority by taunting, make it so that you cant cancel taunts. I hate how in SF4, people can taunt and then block during the animation. Why taunt for half a second and then start blocking.
Show you are truly better by saying, "FCK YOU! I'M SO GOOD THAT I'M GIVING YOU A FREE COMBO. I'LL STILL KICK YOUR ASS"
Like a lot of people said I believe its muscle memory, taunts in 3s actually does buffs, its like how people do focus attack after a dizzy in sf4, you get a full combo afterwards, doesnt matter how much health they have, its muscle memory. why do low level players care about taunts anyway, they should work on combos and executions stuff like that, if they dont like it, just leave after the game to play someone else, no need to rage quit and thats the end of that. I sometime taunts people who play lame games, doesnt mean I kick them out of the game, it just mean I'm actually trying to learn the game legitimately and having fun rather than dealing with people who dp 10 times consecutively in front of my face with ryu, or run away for 90 secs with a vega.
#64
Yes, post videos from when I tried to get into 3S. That'll show me what's what.
Funny thing is, I don't even play anymore, and I'm still probably better than you.
How is Kuroda a dick? JWong taunted Raoh, a fellow Japanese player in that same tournament and Kuroda felt compelled to even things up. It's really funny how Americans start the trash-talk then the Japanese gotta clean it up since they get blamed for it.
@82 If you don't like your 3S vids, I could always post a different game:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hrq-He...
I love the "letting go of the controller" strategy, good stuff.
Regarding the Disconnect video:
Whatever floats your boat man. I personally don't care if someone rage quits. The win still goes to me with most fighters these days. As far as taunting goes, I don't do it on principle. It seems a little douchebaggy, and unnecessary if you're the one winning. Even if you're losing, why would you even bother? I don't like being taunted personally, it seems like bad sportsmanship. With a game like 3rd Strike though, I would assume the taunt is for stat boosting purposes. I play Q and Remy, so I taunt for bonuses.
Regarding vs. Vega Matches:
Well done JR, you did very well indeed. Great pressure, good mixup, you had that guy's head spinning. I know I would have been overwhelmed, so, excellent. I wish Splendid Claw did some more hit confirming. He did a lot of random Ex FBA's, that's trouble for any Vega. Lots of chances to counter were totally missed. Somehow I'm sure this Vega could have beaten mine down, but I'd love to see how I measure up.
Damn, most people here have no idea about 3S! Kuroda was just being a dick because Ricky and Justin made fun of Hayao. It's a well known story.
@23
"those players that rage quit are decent players. they are not your every day scrubs."
lol...yea...like the Dudley player @ 1:53 who is just crouching and getting hit by demon flips...or the Urien
player using SA1?
Really? REALLY?! Did you even watch the video? Most of them were just terrible!
"JR is a 3S Legend" lol
Had to chime in after seeing all these pansies above me crying about how taunts are "bad sportsmanship". LOLCITY. The same folks that hold so closely to their chest "if the developers put it in the game, it's fair" card. Right. Taunt all day, if your heart desires, I say. Who's worse? The one taunting or the one getting genuinely affected emotionally by being taunted? I'd have to say the latter. Weaklings. It's a video game. I'd hate to see how you'd react out of your comfort zone outside of video games.

Since you seem to be so interested in me and all.
Don't you find it hypocritical that you would criticize JR Rodriguez for "playing against mid-level players AT BEST", but then post videos of yourself playing against someone who is bad at MvC3? Seriously, it's amazing that you would expect me to be impressed by using a Level 3 X-Factor Wesker to *barely* pull off a victory against spx and his crappy Hulk team.
(Not that it's what JR's video was for, of course. His video was made to expose rage quitters, which is always a good thing in my book.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?&v=wyWTW...
^But this is the best match you played with him by far. You struggle to deal with Doom's finger lasers in -Vanilla- MvC3.
I get why you would hate on older fighting games, and talk down on long-time respected players; you evidently have very little skill at fighters and can't stand being defeated straight-up. You couldn't even play Cable/Cyclops against a team of Thanos, Amingo, and Shuma-Gorath. That should have been a free win for you! FREE! But no. The video evidence shows that you give up or run away when a challenge comes.
And don't tell me "I only play for fun", because if you did, then why would you ever let go of your pad/stick to end a match more quickly? A person who plays for fun would keep playing whether they're about to win or lose. You only care about winning without any major challenge, which is why you face spx for several matches in MvC3 but only two in MvC2 (which you gave up both times).
I have to wonder if you're even self-aware of these things. =/
