I admit, I also would like to see some match-ups now that Daigo is playing Ryu again.
Dai-Ryu vs. Momochi's Cody
Dai-Ryu vs. Uryo's Sakura
Dai-Ryu vs. Iyo's Ibuki
Dai-Ryu vs. Poongko's Seth
"Mago (Sagat) 4 – 5 Nissy (Dudley)"
Dudley confirmed for top tier. Kappa
#5 How can you say after the AE2012 buffs to Seth? It could definitely happen again. The thing is if Poongko's Seth is going to beat you it would most likely be a blow up.
@9 agreed, EH is resorting to the equivalent of sensationalism in journalism to get more buzz/hits for the post.
Stop with the commentary and just post the stats. I'm sure the players aren't competing as if it was a tournament and are still in learning mode, learning the matchup and developing strategies.
Posting headlines like "Kazunoko Seth Unstoppable" doesn't contribute anything at this point and is why I visit SRK way more often now.
Well, id just like to say lets not count poongko out, he's an amazing player so im sure he aint gonna do the same mix-ups on daigo again. I also i believe a key thing tat gives daigo and advantage this time is that yun cant FADC his Dp, but ryu can.
idk why everyone thinks that seth is unstoppable on a pro's hand, seth didn't get any good buff on AE and v2012, he mostly got nerfd and the only descent buff he got was the stamina and stun boost, seth DP game is not that good anymore and mostly these days u will see its getting fadc-backdash, seth is still beatable coming from a seth main player, dont overthink that he's too broken or something!
Wasn't the Ryu/Seth matchup always in Ryu's favor? I may be a Poongko fan, but I think Daigo would win in long sets. Also remember guys, Yun was always considered to be good against Seth too.
Characters play a huge role in this game. More so than a lot of people want to admit. That's why Daigo couldn't beat Mago, YHC-Mochi, and F-Champ with Ryu back in Chocolate. Daigo proved this when he used Guile against Mago's Fei in the Canada Cup a year ago.
I just wish that they would give Cammy her TKCS back. If Daigo's main goes back to his old dominant self, then Sako's main should as well.
@30 Daigo has the best Ryu in the world and he is winning consistently as you can see from videos, this article and more.
As for playerjun, his ken is amazing but in japan there are many more amazing players that can compete and defeat him. BTW where is playerjun? I know he's not on top that's for sure.
ok guys, let's stop teasing us with these stats, somebody show us some footage of these BEASTS.
i probably am willing to pay around 5 bucks to watch these videos.
Daigo will not be able to stop Justin Wong this evo. As good as Ryu is in Ver. 2012 Ryu still isn't as good as his super version and Justin just so happens to be training with Adon, which is currently Ryu's worst match up in ver. 2012.
bananainsaneface:
Because Justin Wong certainly proved his dominance over the Japanese in SSF4 at Evo and SB:R...
Daigo is better than Justin Wong as a player, and he still has a very good shot of winning against Justin, bad match-up or not.
@ crispylinks77 the thing is u removed the top 3 from AE cammy was still top tier, where as ryu dropped all the way to mid tier. ryu is without his escape tatsu, him getting his c.mk back doesnt break match ups. you give cammy back her tkcs then it wil break certain match ups. people like abel, gouken, dhalsim etc.. wont stand a chance. ryu needed his cmk back, this patch was to balance the characters, not buff already top ones unnecessarily
@#33 Isn't Adon worse in 2012 than he was in Super? No more faster wake up and his Jaguar kick had it's hurtbox extended.
Ryu's arguably better than he was in Super. The only thing he's missing is escape tatsu but he received alot more in return(more damaging fireballs, better dp's, ch ex fireball has juggle properties, etc).
Plus Daigo's already demonstrated he has no problem with the matchup.
I'm more interested in seeing how he does in the Sim matchup, but it sounds like Sim doesn't really have a big advantage over Ryu anymore.
The only way you're going to get to watch these matches is if you went to the arcade, in Japan.

What why even mention Sako. He's even more overrated than Daigo. Sako came to the U.S. and couldn't even place top 8 in our tournies and lost money matches to scrubs. Sako is a fraud.
