And finally, there's a first to ten set in Marvel vs. Capcom 2 between EG|fLoE and coL.cc|Mike Ross uploaded by LuigiBoVerFinal. At least, it was supposed to be first to ten...
Good times. Looks like theyre trying to hype up the older games for the upcoming game re-releases
@#1, now that you brought it up...96% of UMvC3 players now or todays gamers couldnt learn any of those combos in one day like you could in UMvC3.
#4
Actually, they could. Stop acting like older games were impossible to get into.
#5 NoizyChild, doubt it. Heres an example for ya which could speak for the rest of the newer gamers:
Honzo Gonzo was streaming a week ago (you can find it in the archive), He wanted to play MvC2 to learn magnetos Rom and FAILED horribly. Couldnt even do a basic combo.
@AnaboliChris
I have no idea why people still say this crap. It's true that broken crap like that takes some focus and UMvC may be EASIER, but don't just say it's easy, because people who are good at that game will dominate you just like people from back in the day on this game (XvSF). One person not learning a ROM loops means not a thing, no matter who it is. I was as basic as they come in those games, and I won fairly often with my lack of information from back then (no internet to learn technology and I didn't play at arcades often)...I won purely off of magic series, so it was definitely possible back then to win even without advanced tactics.
#9, with all due of respect..reading what you just wrote just made me a bit dumber.
I agree with the first top half of your post then you lost me at the bottom. My point was, yes UMvC3 is easier. Knowing how to do the ROM will have an advantage against someone who doesnt. All it takes is one punish and the rom can build meter and do a ton of damage oppose to someone who only knows how to do the magic series that deals min damage and builds min meter.
Wow. Just...wow.
Just going through some of these comments make me die a little inside.
So here's a little bit of knowledge for you newcomers.
Video games in general were way more difficult to get into as well as play.
It's because many of these older games started out in the arcades.
The harder a game is at an arcade, the more money you have to spend.
It's as simple as that.
Now that video games are mass marketed via console rather than arcade releases, it makes the game difficulty scale WAY down. Who wants to buy a game that's ridiculously hard?
Nobody. Casual gamers want a game that fun and easily accessible. That's why we have Street Fighter 4 and Marvel vs Capcom 3.
Yes, you can go deeper into the system mechanics for that game and it takes legitimate skill.
But the game engine allows for much greater leniency that older fighters.
It's a fact of the gaming industry as a whole.
Get over it. Current games are easier than older games because that's what makes more money.
@6 I am a umvc3 player and I played abit of mvc2 but I could do the rom and the iron man infinite its not easy but it isnt impossible I doubt I can do it now since I havent played mvc2 in year,mvc2 is a pretty crazy game and I feel even in mvc2 at the highest level it could go either way kinda like umvc3 (not counting dark wesker) but yeah every marvel game has its own type of bs
No. X-Factor is not an instant win button. X-Factor didn't cause them to lose. Their mistakes did. They messed up and got hit. End of story.
@1 There are plenty of players nowadays who are downright terrible at the older Marvel VS games. For instance, check out this guy:
Here Mike Ross demonstrates that you dont need an internet connection to rage quit.
#11 so true. I bought God of War 3 cause i thought it would be a good single player game to have, then i beat it in 6 days, platinum trophied it then returned it. They looked at me like i was crazy for returning such "AN AMAZING" game. I simply told them the game was way too easy and there is no reason to keep it. What was I supposed to do? play titan mode over n over?
I remember when games took months to complete, but now days games are way too easy and everything comes with a strategy guide to hold your hand on how to do everything.
Older games are harder. Not just fighting games but games in general.
@26
so so true, just look at FF13 and FF13-2 then compare that to 10 and 12 *shakes head*
He's right, that game is broken. One mistake and youre toast.
rare footage of noizychild being an obnoxious sperg
oh wait
@24
I have to ask. What game took you months to beat? PSX/Saturn era JRPGs would've been pushing 20-30hours, and everything before that would've been considerably shorter. Maybe if you were playing for an hour a week...
I guess games seem harder when you're a kid.
For answers concerning the difficulty of games nowadays, please refer to comment 11.
Thank you.

Check out the sweep xx anti-air cancel at 2:02, good stuff.
well you can tell how much credibility he has when he says these games are not harder than current gen fighters
**sits in director's chair**
Alright, cue wanna-be hardcore douchebags coming in and complaining about how "scrub-friendly" today's fighters are, and how these games took "real skill".
And......ACTION!
