Live stream directory on EventHubs leaves beta phase We're very happy to announce that the EventHubs live stream directory is now out of the beta phase. Since launching this new feature about a week back, we've tracked down and squashed a number of bugs, and things are working a lot better now.

EventHubs programmer, Josh Kapple, once again gets the lion's share of the credit for his excellent diagnostic and coding work. Also, big shout outs to Ben 'Fishstix' Goldhaber at TwitchTV, who's been very helpful throughout this process.

The stream directory now updates every three minutes, showing a list of live streams in the fighting game community. As of the time of this writing, we have over eighty streams we're tracking and we'll of course keep adding more.

In the past, we ran into issues with streams not showing up in the directory consistently even though they were live, but thanks to our readers pointing the way and testing out this feature, this should all be resolved.

As always, if run into any problems or have questions or feedback, feel free to leave it in the comments or use the contact form. Enjoy.

Will this eventually become open source? I'm kind of curious how these features were implemented.

This is brilliant. Was sweet watching the Topanga stream earlier. Thank you.

This is pretty easily become one of the best features on the site. Hopefully we won't need as many "this stream is happening" stories in the newsfeed, as the popular streams will get exposure in the stream feed.

@J

Yeah, we generally don't like to launch stuff on the site unless it's already pretty solid. In this case, we kind of needed to test out things with a mass audience to track down and eliminate bugs that didn't show up in our earlier rounds of testing.

Just people checking out this feature and leaving feedback and what did and didn't work was huge, so we were able to tighten up the code fairly quickly, and get things working how it should be.

And if you like this feature, we're going to have quite a few more announcements coming in the future with expansions to EventHubs. Some stuff never before done in the fighting game community.

Covering non-Capcom games, news filtering, user profiles, live stream directories are just the tip of the iceberg. We have A LOT more stuff planned.

@Ex_Ein

Can't say yet, sorry. We don't announce stuff till it's reasonably close to launching.

Superstragihtfighter he'd say "on the 19th/by the end of the month" if he was doing it the Capcom way
