IGN UK posted an interview with Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada that discusses his thoughts on the Nintendo Wii U and how the innovations of the new system could be used in the next Tekken game.I've often heard about or seen fighting-game players playing with a strategy guide open at their feet, so it would be useful if we could, for example, distribute an enhanced digital version of the guide that the player could see while playing, and even touch to have a live preview on the main screen.
Another thing I would like to do is use the capacity to write on the screen. I'd like to implement a feature such as being able to customize the character by drawing and painting on the screen.

I thought the customization by drawing on the Wii-U controller was already shown last year. I remember seeing that, with someone drawing something on Kazuya or was it Jin's face¿
The guide idea sounds awesome though. The game coming with its own guide/help like some Nintendo games have been doing lately.
A command list, especially for a namco fighter right inbetween your hands would be amazing. A guide would be going the extra mile but in terms of just learning a character while fighting online/offline casually with the moves readable right in front of you would streamline the learning curve without pausing and annoying your training partner. Strategy guides open at your feet are fine but annoying to squint at and i hate page turning all the time.
A lot of the times when i learn a character i have to have this dichotomy of training mode... learning the moves and properties... then going into a match to see if I actually wanna pick up the character judging by his/her flow and speed. A WiiU tablet would merge these two methods more often to shorten the memorization and basic tactics grinding, so I could get into the good stuff with the character faster.
Sounds good for the casual player who will end up playing on controller. These features wouldn't/shouldn't be necessary for those playing on sticks, but I'm going off the assumption those with arcade sticks are generally more experienced than the average player. All of these interesting features will be rendered useless though if the Wii U's online is not up to par.
I had the same isea of a digital strategy guide with the wiiu
@2 I'll never own a Wii-U but I'd draw all sorts of nasty stuff. On the daily too.

1. Don't discount the dedication of pad players.
2. online is not the end-all be-all for fighting games.
Considering many people in the Tekken community prefer pad, this could be useful. Thankfully, this can go for both players since Nintendo said they'll get at least 2 of the tablet controllers working instead of the originally-intended 1.
Though most who play other fighters may just opt for a stick (here's to hoping they offer a USB option rather than the pre-existing connect-to-the-wireless-Wii-Remote option, even though they still work on this system).
Woo Harada. I wonder though if having the guide will cost wii points or if it some kinda guide lite.
