AndriaSang.com reported that the PlayStation Vita version of Street Fighter X Tekken will be released during fall 2012 and will feature 12 new characters.
The PlayStation Vita version of Street Fighter X Tekken won't make it out alongside the PS3 and Xbox 360 version on March 8. Capcom said today that Vita owners will have to wait until Fall.
But Vita owners can look forward to some big bonuses. The Vita version will have twelve additional characters. The Street Fighter cast will be updated with Elena, Guy, Cody, Sakura, Dudley and Blanka. The Tekken side will be updated with Alisa, Christie, Jack, Bryan, Lars and Lei.
These are the same fighters that have been rumored to be in the console release of the game.

That's pretty absurd, I'd hope they'll be added to the console versions as well.
o______________O!!! this is my answer about the 12 exclusive characters: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWaLxF...
DLC incoming!.. Or Super Duper Street Fighter X Tekken
mixed feelings on this i was going to pick this up on the vita as well as my ps3 anyway just hope i dont have buy the 12 new characters on my ps3 version
SON OF A bit@cHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
THATS ITS!!! DUCK EM. I'M Done with capcom for good. just cancel by pre-order.
It's fake.
http://www.esrb.org/ratings/search.js...
Please note two things, outside of the Alisa and Lei leak there on the ESRB site.
Number one - ESRB does NOT rate DLC unless it exceeds the original games rating. So unless Alisa has MK style fatalities with her chainsaws, she's an unlockable
Number 2 - That rating is for the 360 and PS3 versions of the game. Vita version not rated (yet).
What does this mean? This my dear, which Capcom has said nothing about I should add, is sheer and utter codswallop.
You're welcome
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_YHV5...
you know yall all are thinking it.
I don't understand, does this mean they won't be in the console versions from the start?
God I really hope they don't pull a mvc3 on us and make an update version 8 months later.
@12, on disc dlc would have been submitted for rating at the same time as the rest of the game, as would any dlc that was in development at the time.
In short, Capcom is saving themselves the trouble of having to resubmit assets they've already planned for dlc for reclassification.
Great news!
That means these characters ARE confirmed for the console, since the ESRB rating talking about chainsaws and drunk fighters was for the console version.
Had Capcom been forthcoming about DLC characters ( assuming theyre DLC) for Cross since the start, it would have helped make it seem more legit. Hiding the DLC intentions until after release comes off as milking to the casual gamer.
It should be, "Hey, buy it on Day 1, enjoy it. In a few months we'll have more content for purchase", Then explain pricing and ETA of the content- leave no mystery at all of what to expect. Currently it's being perceived as "You bought the Vanilla copy? gotcha!"
I've been seeing many random posts on gaming sites from players i presume to be casual, saying they refuse to buy Cross until the definitive version comes out in 1-2 years from now. Not a good sign.
Oh yeah... in before the "Sakura is in but no KARIN?!? OMFG I AM GOING TO KILL MYSELF" salt.
Where is Honda?!? Now all the original guys are going to be in the game BUT Honda. I guess that is good news, since it means there will probably be even more characters released down the line.
@17 ESRB only reclassifies if rating exceeds original, an extreme example would be adding a Zombie survival mode to Viva Piniata. Unless Alisa has chainsaw fatalities like Mortal Kombat, I doubt it
From the ESRB website - "Downloadable content (DLC) that will be appended to an existing, previously-rated product need only be submitted to ESRB for rating if its content exceeds that which is in the existing "core" product. Otherwise, the rating assigned to the core product is applicable to the DLC as well. Where, however, DLC content exceeds the rating assigned to the core product, it must be submitted to ESRB and a different rating will be associated with this DLC"

@22
I am not sure what you are referring to? I know the casuals that you speak of who keep saying that they are going to wait for the super duper version of the game, but that is only because they are ignorant. Ono-san and Killian have been very, very insistent that there would be no standalone disc upgrade of this game and that every thing would be done Arcade Edition style for DLC. So, there will be no vanilla edition of this game, though I can see a GoTY edition coming out eventually to draw in those guys who waited, just like SSFIV: AE did.
Wait a minute, this is a fact???
Man i know 12 new characters is an awsome feature, but i really don´t have any plans to get a vita. i'm kinda sad because i won´t play withe some of my favorite characters if this is real
I have a little hope that those characters are actually in the original roster.
Well, I guess this is good news?
If the game is fun, I have no problem supporting 12 characters worth of DLC.
well I'm sure i heard that all dlc for this will be cross platform between ps3 and vita maybe vita buys will get a voucher to down load the new 12 if this is true
Why do u people keep saying Strekken will have DLC chars with no annoucement \ proof? Seriously.............
HI SAKURAAA!!!! Lovely to see you here!~ ^^
Elena X Christie aye? Intersting...
so here is my thought, capcom said they are not going release any new discs. so I'm guessing after release sometime in the fall they will release these 12 characters( ironic its the same number as UMVC3) maybe a few stages, and some balance updates for $40 bucks called "game update 1" or some crap.
Why are people pissed that Capcom is adding more characters to a game that looks pretty promising? Even if it's a crap game, why would be so mad that Capcom has plans to attempt to add value and improve it?
I'd love to see even SF4 continually get new characters via DLC. It would definitely beat buying costumes, which I bet of the people complaining above me purchased.
Huh...12 characters...Wonder where they'll be placed on the menu, lol.
So packed...
Honestly It's a bit absurd that 12 character would only be exclusive to the VITA. I know I don't have $300 bucks to spend on a hand held system plus the actual game.
I recall most of us thinking Cole was just for the VITA as well.
Look I'm all for characters through DLC but not at the prices they are asking for each character. 12 X $5 is 60 plus the prices of the GeM packs DLC as well. A little ridiculous IMO.
I guess when you ask for new characters they'll do it but it will cost us much more than expected.
My guess..... Unlockables but we haven't heard much about that. Tekken was big on the unlockable's or character variants (Nina/Anna Williams) So.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!
This is why I'm buying a vita... now I have to wait til fall to play the game I mostly want on it!!!! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!
The reasons this is a good thing: this probably means that we will get these characters on the console in the long run, despite having to pay for them, i'm happy for new characters.
The reasons this is a bad thing: having to pay for characters that are probably already on the disc or a new version of the game. Not to mention all the people who just get so pissy over nothing have more room to just shout their lungs out.
I DON'T WANT SAKURA AND BLANKA. I WANT ALEX AND KARIN.
Sakura and Blanka are best buddies, Karin and Sakura aren't (+ we need a team Saikyo rep)
The worst part? Capcom is going to SPACE OUT their DLC just like they did with UMVC3. Can't stand these dudes.
@28
I mean that they should explicitly state " Character X is being worked on currently, but will be released on X date, it's DLC and it's going to cost $ 2.00 a character" They need to be transparent and they need to give that info before the release date. Hiding the details makes casual players suspicious.
I am familiar w/ the info Killian and Ono have been giving out. But by being vague about the content and date it makes it less believable. I think, they think being ambigous equals hype. To the average gamer, it looks like they are leaving themselves wiggle room to pull another UMvC3.
Blanka and Sakuras story: Look for Dan's murderer, lol
How incredible would it be if they announced all these characters for the console versions right before its released?
However unlikely that is but I have to admit Im happy that Sakuras made it into the Vita version. Its pretty much a sure bet that she will be in the console versions eventually and that is exciting.
If it's true, at least it isn't day 1 DLC considering they said Vita is gettin SFxT in fall. Though, I doubt this is true what with the ESRB leak and all.
In the end, it sounds like good news as long as they aren't priced over 8 bucks a pack and on-disc DLC/day 1 DLC.
I hope this somewhat quiets everyone from crying about the character selection.
I can see them doing the Arcade Edition route and release those 12 characters as DLC and Stand alone game. I'm happy to see Alisa since I secretly love her but never use her in T6.
My big question now is, Why would Capcom let something this bad be leaked to the public (if its real) ?
The cast list leaking isn't such a big deal since it just pumps up more hype when people see their fav character got in but seeing a possible DLC list is just going to piss everyone off(read the posts in this article).
If all the characters are either stand alone or paired up when they are sold than I'm happy but knowing she's going to be paired up with Lars and not Jack is already breaking my heart.

Theres the point, they 'probably' \ 'may' not be reveal ALL of chars at once. Just leave the rest on the disk for people to discover.
It's all spectulation I suppose, I could be totally wrong and should be as pessimistic as you lot maybe?
So these chars will be DLC chars for console I guess...
y is everyone acting so surprised?? we all knew this was gonna happen.capcom always finds a way to get the most money out of their products....... this is great news for me at least....I hope none of those capcom characters make it on to the ps3 version. they r all a waste of space for new characters.... keep up the bad work capcom u really know how to f#$k a game.
@ #61
That's realism for you, it's Capcom we're talking about man.
Still, my money is on some of those characters, namely Lei and Alisa because of the esrb thing, being unlockables.
Would be pretty stupid to have like 20 % of the roster be DLC, especially considering that those characters are easily fan favourites.
OMG I really want to take a bat and smash a capcom employee's car right now >__> but i'll still going hope that this is fake. but if not and these characters are on disk, im going to...... no super SF x tekken my @@@
Yes, I am one of those raging about Karin not being in the game >.<.... especially seeing Blanka again... who the hell likes Blanka. Honda is a much better original SF2 character.
@#66
I suppose I just going on what Seth said, when he said (I quote) "we're not even in the home stretch for character list" (which was before gouki, bison, jin etc).
12 DLC chars is a bit much.
Something doesn't add up to me. Capcom said 12 characters for Marvel was too much for DLC, so it had to be on a disc. Now we all know that was just a load so they could get more $, but they've also now said SFxT would never have a new disc.
OK so it wouldn't be the first time they've gona back on their word, but even if its all DLC, the industry standard has been $5 per character (BB, Marvel, SC4, KOF13), is Capcom really going to release $60 of character only DLC?! Or do you think they'd really release them 2 at a time?
I wonder if we might see Capcom dip into the season pass model. $30 upfront, you get $60 worth of DLC over the course of....6 months?
Damn, so many useless, whining comments as usual. If this is true, is it really all that surprising? If so then u are all delusional. We know there will be updates, Capcom didn't say otherwise either. They said no other physical disc - only updates after vanilla SF X T. So what's everyone's problem? If anything kudos to them for waiting on the Vita's release until the inevitable DLC is already out. Capcom also offered free DLC on the iPhone versions. Also it makes sense to delay the Vita release since UMVC3 is a launch title on that system.
Okay passed my comment @69, I'm happy that I will be able to (eventually) use my main character in SFxT.
I just hope they are DLC characters put up early in the release days, not months down the road. Also, I hope its not that this is the vanilla version.
@ #72
That's the thing, 12 is too much (hell UMvC3 features twelve). If it was like 4 DLC chars at launch it'd be okay (by me at least).
Hope you're right with the Killian thing, though I still don't see them revealing all of those characters in such a short amount of time.
If these fighters are Exclusive then the way the Vita is bombing it be fun to watch Capcoms intention take it in the ass
but hey these will more than likely be DLC characters since the first pack was already leaked a few weeks back and it was Cody, Guy, Leo and Christie
dunno what everyone is b*tching about I'd rather this method opposed to the brand new release...
Thoughts: Elena FINALLY made the cut! [ http://tinypic.com/r/2rr9q4n/5 ] Get ready for Team Capoeira = Elena x Christie WOW There's 3 boxers in the game, can anyone say Team English = Dudley x Steve and characters that didn't make it like Alex 'n R. Mika will most likely be in the next game Tekken x Street Fighter <3
Aww man...this isn't fake it's legit. It's on famitsu as well.
www.famitsu.com/news/201202/22010334....
No R. Mika ? Capcom WHYYYYYY??? I guess well have to settle for the scary KUMika.
I think were all thinking about how much these extras will cost us....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aN_7T0...
This news sucks because it is for the vita. It's pretty clear the FGC doesn't like handhelds. I personally think the vita will flop but that's just me. We rather have those characters on console where they won't go to waste and actually see some use.
I'm confused. Why are people complaining about DLC characters? Weren't you guys the same people criticizing Capcom for making disc updates to Street Fighter and were LIVID that UMvC3 was a disc update instead of dlc support?
Now they make a game with that by all accounts looks like it will have dlc, and it's a problem? I don't understand.
I would have loved too see more characters that aren't in Super street fighter 4:AE.
And no Karin is extremely disappointing
Everyone want too seen Sakura/Karin X Asuka/Lili .
And blank is bad or annoying character in every game he is in.
I was happy too see him skip this one.
oh well. hope they pack blanka and Dudley together so I don't have to buy them
I'm placing my bet right now that these 12 characters are on disc DLC..... might actually help boost the sales of the PC version since that'll be the easiest to hack and access the characters early.
Fu** you Capcom! What the he** do you see in that piece of crap system anyway? Screw this noise, I'm gonna get an internship at Namco.
@87
You are right, people make no sense. They think if characters are announced as DLC, they MUST be finished and already on the disc. If they don't announce them as DLC, they complain that there is no DLC and that Capcom is just going to release another version of the game. There is no winning with these people.
Also, there is a group that is mad that their favorite character is DLC, as if they are going to release unpopular characters that no one wants to buy as DLC -- that is good business strategy.
Anyway, we have NO CLUE whether these characters will be DLC or unlockable for the console version. People just can't help jumping to conclusions and having an ulcer.
basically, people want all the goods without having to
purchase anything, dlc or disc. they should just release
a solid full game with no add-ons, lols
this really blows :/
They need to put these people on consoles!!! Who would buy $300 for a vita and the SFxT game?
heck this makes me soo mad, but I am still getting the game regardless. I have like 1500 MSpoints just stored up for any DLC
If I remember the rumor correctly, these characters are almost complete on the disc but not quite. Sakura, Blanka, Lars and Bryan probably less so than other. These are DLC characters that will be sold at a low price cause they are going for volume.
You can probably wait for GOTY edition if you want value for your DLC but it'll only be after all the DLC is sold which can be next year.
Karin and R. Mika are never going to be ina Street Fighter game that Ono produces unless the demand is overwhelming so I wouldn't hold my breath.
Anyway, the core game is good enough for me already so i'll be buying the game day one. I'll consider the DLC characters if there is a complete pack for them someday.
I know this is supposed to make me want a Vita, but it's having the opposite effect. Every obnoxious marketing trick they do to promote it makes me hate the Vita (And Sony) more and more.
I don't care if we have to pay for them on console (or PC, I'm on that actually), I'm glad they'll be in the game. Except that damn blankaball spam...
Wait, on our platform, serious players only will buy DLCs, and they don't do that.
Still, PC > Console.
