This is the only game I really want on the vita right now. I sold my PS3 copy but I'd love a portable version of the game especially if it still has story mode too.

im a casual fan of mk series meaning i play it with friends when we get together for some 4 vs 4 party style games and the gore factor of the game is great for lolz. But never see myself playing this seriously outside the party game factor due to the game mechanics and such so i stick with SSFIV AE 2012 or tekken 6 if we cared about showing off skill and being the win streak champion etc. however props to MK for going for a great story mode even if its just a rehashed one from the series already with some altered events which was in par or surpassed tekken 6 in terms of style and content. seems like the ps vita is getting ports from a lot of fight games i guess as a testing ground to see if the taboo of fighting games on handhelds might increase popularity on it which could be a good thing for fgc. IM aware its been going on for awhile such as blazblue and soul caliber and doa etc. but this might be a hit or miss depending on how they execute the control scheme and net codes for online. not a fan of the touch screen functions nice i believe the should not be involved in the fight genre and feels too gimmicky to promote the vita.

nothing will ever replace the joystick(plinking,double tap,fast dashes,360).handheld are made for casual.
tournament are too serious to be played on handheld.
were ready to give them wolfcrone ,alioune and louffy cause they are pad player and cat get used quickly to the ps vita.

@5

Funny how it is only the QCF users and not the charge character uesers who use pads.......easier to mash DP's on a pad.

Keyboards are the best for charge characters

Urien:

The arcade sticks already have been replaced ages ago, they are not the ideal choice for gaming because the pads are just as practical and competent as the sticks. Furthermore, the pads are more accessible, affordable, and convenient more than the sticks could ever be.

It kinda looked when Scorpion was fighting Sub-Zero they were fighting in a whole bunch of cars. Does that mean you can fight in your pictures or your enviroment as you walk?

@5 I've played both and whilst i enjoy stick more, you are wrong and ignorant of pads. From my experiences, 360's are easier on pad (so easy to buff 720's between moves aswell btw), dashes are about the same, double taps are not essential and plinking is not essential in all fighting games.

As they years go on, the developers will look for more ways to help cater for pad, i personally think some of the "dumbing down" of sf4 was due to these measures. In the end it will come purely down to preference more, with stick eventually declining and becoming a very niche market

@11

I started off on pads so am not ignorant of them.
My skills improved tremendously with a stick after initial problems. It is much easier to use circular motion characters with a pad especially in SF4........personally I hate the DP shortcut and input leniency of SF4.
Nothing worse than being mashed out of a combo by some clowns ill timed DP.

@DougQuaid Your comment in #6 would have a point if this wasnt a Mortal Kombat thread. MK has never used the DP motion, and likely never will. MK9 has the most pad players out of any tournament fighter, but lacks the motion you speak of.
