Street Fighter 4's Ryu appears as a DLC challenger in Asura's Wrath

New DLC for Capcom's upcoming game Asura's Wrath has been revealed as Ryu in his Street Fighter 4 incarnation thanks to 4gamer.

The article notes that it does look like Street Fighter 4's style, but assures them that it's an Asura's Wrath in-game screenshot and not the other way around. They state that this DLC will be released February 21st (North America) and 23rd (Japan).

Scorpion if you're going off the demo, the Demo only shows the QTE heavy boss fights, the normal gameplay is a mix of the second boss fight and god of war.

heh, the cool different mode reminds me of KH Re:Coded's special modes (2D platformer, shmup, JRPG). i hope other games do similar things to make the gameplay more interesting at times.

Im pretty sure Akuma has been in almost every capcom fighting game since ST, he's pretty recognizable.

@44 You probably shouldn't use mvc3 as an example, realistically speaking Ryu should get bodied by almost the entire cast in that game. Asura vs. Ryu is a 10-0 matchup in Asura's favor. Now Asura vs Akuma, THATS a fight I'd like to see.

That's pretty cool. Seeing 2 characters with visibly different game mechanics (well super gauges and stuff anyway :P) is interesting. I vaguely remember blaze blue had that and it would be nice to see it crop up in other games.

y'know, they do games like that so that it makes more sense when you finally reach the end version of the character and they're so highly powered. it makes it seem like the amazing powers weren't just a**pulled or simply "granted" to the character. the early glimpse of their power also serves as an incentive for the player to push through and get stronger. sure, mystery can go a long ways in giving that incentive too, but the approach of giving everyone a glimpse has a better response rate.

@59 Ryu has survived fighting Akuma merely because Akuma allows it. He fights Ryu only to test his strength cuz he wants Ryu to give in to the satsui no hado & be strong enough to kill him one day, so he holds back in their fights. If Akuma went all out Ryu would be dead, trust me. What chance does a mere karate kid have against a raging god that punches ppl into orbit & destroys enemies larger than the earth? Only a raging demon can counter such a being.
