The features and details in this game are very robust for an indie game. 2x resolution sprites, real-time lighting, and even the press-and-hold start menu. This is like the "Bastion" of fighting games.

In one of the builds they said that all assists were programmable, in that you could record any one attack or special attack and it would be the assist for that match. It looked like a more traditional MvC assist system in the bottom video.

Too bad this game is going to bomb hard, putting this out between SCV and SFXT is the biggest mistake they can make. I hope they delay until summer when there's nothing to play and in the mean time they could add a few more characters.

@MightyAfro

It's actually made to be accessible for new players to the genre while still appealing to the hardcore crowd. It has an actual tutorial mode that teaches you strategies instead of Capcom's usual "do this bunch of combos... oh you hit an execution brick wall, well f-ck you!"

It also doesn't have any execution heavy inputs so it's pretty easy to pick up, I think the hardest super is Cerebella's 360+buttons.

#6, I have more hype with this game than SFxT. Same goes for a lot of people. Same will go for more people as soon as people wake up and smell the coffee.

@11: I totally agree. Endless gem arguments aside, SFxT just doesn't look that fun. Seems like a dumbed down version of 4 with some customization options. I guess we'll see when the time comes. I'm amped for SG and would totally support postponing till summer if it would sell better then. They're def a marketing underdog compared to SFxT. Just gives them more time to polish and possibly expand.

I like the game's mechanics but it doesn't appeal to me due to the art design and the characters. If the characters were much more appealing then I would give the game a shot but it is not for me. I hope they make back a profit though because they put so much love into it.

@19: a little harsh, but for real. I was seriously amped on SFxT initially. I just watched the new posts on it above this one, and man, it looks bad. The more they show, the more I'm dissapointed. If it turns out to be great Ill give it a shot, but def sitting back and waiting on it.

On the other hand SG has shown and revealed a lot for a while now and the more I see, the more it supports the hype, and ill be picking it up on day one.

Listen I really like skull girls but the quality of either game is not in question. Your smoking crack if you think skullgirls will do anywhere near as well SFXT.

The real issue is that even though the FGC seems receptive to skullgirls a lot of people who were going to get it will probably put it on hold because there's just too many big titles coming out. I personally will not be getting it now because I dont have time to invest in to two FG simultaneously and given the choice im sorry but skullgirls cant hold a candle. Face it, if Reverge labs had hit that end of year/early January target they would of been way better off.

PS. everyone on this site will buy SFXT. stay free

Please join my open challenge. You will never see me near SFxT. Stay Free? Yeah I'm sure you can say that for yourself. Make sure to use your aid gems lmfao.

Why would I purchase a $60 Street Fighter title , in this day & age. F uck Street Fighter.
SkullGirls is the better title on paper & in-hand. Any source that has a brain & has held the game will tell you. All Street Fighter has is it's brand name these days. Fact.
Stay stupid Street Fighter fanboy's & refrain from attempting to rally unsuspecting people to waste their cash on Capcom products. It's sad , underhanded & annoying.

Been waiting for something like this for a looooooong time. Finally there's something complete original with good art and hand-drawn 2D frames. People needs to understand there ain't a lot people willing to put in that much effort to make a game like this these days and probably for the next 10 years.

I was a bit taken aback by the art style but now that I see how much geniuses are gyus who did the game are... I just can't say "no" anymore. ;) I mean an input lag poison? Burst that activates when you get hit by infinite? Both 1v1, 3v3 and even 1v3? These guys have an answer to everything that can possibly bother people in fighting games. If there only were more characters... but the present one are done VERY well. Day 1 buy for me.

lol @ the person who said SG sounds better on paper than SFxT lmfao!!!!!
Ok lets see, how many modes does SG have? What all can you do? Im guessing Arcade Mode, Training Mode, Versus Mode, and Online Mode (feel free to add more if I missed anything). Thats it? What no character customization? No online training? Can you have a friend join your team and fight others? No? Oh bcuz SFxT allows that.

I can respect the people who get hype for this game without bashing SfxT (because this does look interesting), but the rest of you look like butt-hurt anti Capcom hipsters who just wanna see a popular company fall for some mysterious reason. I hope you guys enjoy your 9 characters though.

From a business standpoint releasing your indie fighting game after the two biggest fighting games franchises in history have there much anticipated cross over doesn't seem like the smartest idea. Skull Girls will sell but I have a feeling that this is going to be more of niche game than any other fighting game. For me Skull Girls art style does not appeal to me at all. The game just feels like an american version of Arcana Heart (All girl cast with paranormal powers in a 2D sprite animation style) I will probably pick it up just for the sake of my collection and to help an indie company who has there heart in the right place but as far as investing time into the game that would remain to be seen.

It's brain numbingly depressing that you think because SFxT has more modes(Also see the quality of those modes), it makes it a better fighter. Read up on both projects idiot & learn a thing or two about what went into each title & how each idea came to be implemented. Also , nice attempt to slide that little nugget in , "I hope you guys enjoy your 9 characters" , but your respecting the SkullGirls fanbase ? Could have fooled me jacka$$.

SFxTK is taking the path that mortal kombat took. By putting alot of features, casuals will want to buy the game. But as long as a Fighting game has a training mode and an online mode w/ spectating lobbies I'm good. With that said, SG won't be the popular one but a must get for me!

SFxT looks like trash still. I'll buy this over that in a heartbeat... I'd save more money also

It has had the opposite effect of Skullgirls, where Skullgirls didn't look too interesting at first, but it has become more and more attractive since. Whilst SFxT was possibly the most hype thing I had ever seen when footage was first release. Since the announcement of gems though it has gone downhill into this steamy pile of **** you see today

I believe there is room for both games. I think SG is excellent and cant wait to play Parasol... same with sfxt.. theres no need to put down one game over another.. both have their strengths and weaknesses... Im supporting both titles.

I mean the game doesn't look bad, it just doesn't look like a game I can see myself playing.
@EDGEucator I never said that SfxT was a better fighter just because the modes, maybe yo dumbass should learn how to read. I was laughing because you said SG sounded better than SFxT on paper! If you had to pitch the concept of both these games to a casual player (without degrading either game) what sane person would pick SG over SFxT? The only thing that would probably appeal to them is the price difference.

This game appeals to a niche group of people in a niche game genre. It may be the better game in many ways but it won't be the bigger game in any ways.

@C-Dub
So again , it's the Street Fighter brand name backing SFxT.
Thank you sir for restating what I originally said.
Also , "on paper" , I wonder why you couldn't put two & two together as simply as any other human being & see what was meant by that statement. Oh well , I'll leave you with some self-respect.
Btw , the hand drawn art style (created by Alex Ahad) , differing ratio of teammates you can assemble for a team , the fact that the game teaches you how to play fighting games & original/unique fighting styles are other huge reasons people would lean towards this game , among various other important factors you will inform yourself on (because I'm not going to go out of my way to post every single detail here if your just going to refute them) "besides" the price difference , like you stated would draw someone to the game. (Which is a plus btw.)
Here you go , since you want to blindly rush to Street Fighter's aid w/o realizing what the qualities of each title are , I've "at least" gone and grabbed the sites that have the most SG information/footage.

I don't understand why people seem to think that you can only like Skull girls or Street Fighter X Tekken. Skull girls looks amazing and a lot of time has been put into the quality. The reason the game got delayed in the first place was so they could make sure it was perfect. Day one buy for me.
Street fighter X Tekken its looking really awesome at this point as well. It doesn't make sense to me how everyone is hating it for not being "Hardcore". I'm going to play the game with my friends, those who play fighting games and those who don't because the game is set up like that.
