During a previous Capcom-Unity podcast, Seth Killian talked about how powerful the newly announced characters are, naming Vega and Law as the top contenders of the six fighters recently announced for Street Fighter X Tekken.
Sounds like February is going to be loaded with reveals.
I say bring it on.
@1
The way character reveals are SUPPOSED to work is to have characters sporadically revealed up until release so the consumers will advertise the game by word of mouth by constantly discussing who they want to be revealed to people who may or may not be aware.
I think a large reason to the perceived "disappointment" of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 was the leak of all the characters in the beginning and there was zero hype from last July through November since all was revealed on accident so early and there was no more hype to be had. They will likely try their damnedest to endure that never happens again.
...i dunno what Capcom thinking, but i agree with 1st poster!...WTH really...are they going to show all 12 remaining characters at once or what? what is the reason to keep us waiting so long?? ...as for me i don't care about bosses i know that Bison, Jin, Akuma and Ogre are in its pretty damn obvious...same goes for Cody and Guy its no brainer they're both in and playable! ...but show us Elena/Dudley, Christie/Leo and Bryan/Jack first!...

The hype was diluted, not killed.
There was still plenty of hype just from seeing the characters in action.
Look at the Lupinko leak for this game.
Everyone knows who's going to be in. It's just a matter of seeing them in action.
vega/law confirmed for top tier? *throws head back* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
i sure hope that there's someone instead of Leo, she's just dull and umnimportant tekken character! ...a girl who dresses and pretends to be a boy? gimme a break...i'd preffer Lei Wulong to pair up with Christie Monteiro instead of this Abomination called woman...
@6
I think it would be an overstatement to say "everyone" since it's safer to assume only a minority of the community is actually exposed to Lupinko's leaks. You have to also account the casual players who are learning about the game second hand from a friend (much like my group of friends for example) than actually pay any attention to these things during their own spare time.
These things give people to talk about up to the games release, unless it's leaked by Capcom as definitive proof of them being in the game.
This makes me jump for joy being a vega player. He got the short end of the stick IMO in AE.
Announce more levels like umm 8 more please... and hurry up with the characters so we can get focus on what to choose from when it comes out..
...people believe this list because lets see:
1.Lupinko predicted SSF4 roster with 100% precision...
2.Lupinko predicted UMVC3 roster with the same precision...
3.he's the same person, who predicted all MK9 characters with the same precision...
4...and now he's the one who predicted Megaman crappy art box style and Pac-Man riding on top of Mokujin...
...so tell me now you still doubt he=is list is accurate?
Law is gonna beast...main from tekken for me and gonna do it again in Street Fighter X Tekken...
so vega is finally a boss character again? :') im.....im so happy.... :')
Here's a game that's not released yet. Btw, we totally think these characters are the best out of these new ones we released. AKA we are knowingly releasing the game thinking/knowing which characters are better than others :D.
Sounds great Capcom X_X. Thx.
didn't Ono say they were gonna do reveals at the end of January -_-
@ #22
Seth just hypes up characters from the viewpoint of a player -- it's all his opinion.
And I'd like to note that, leading up to MvC3's release, he hyped up Thor quite a bit. He's hardly the word-of-God on matters, just like any player that takes a liking to certain characters.
@22 vega and law are considered good out of the currently revealed characters. and on top of that, CAPCOM doesnt know that these 2 are the best, SETH just thinks so at the moment so that opinion is subject to change.
Can't wait to see Tatsu with Vega in SF X T. It's about time Capcom made him good.
@18
Yea, he obviously knows this stuff from inside source. So I wouldn't say that "predict" is the right term to use.
@19
Law is basically just Fei Long with a beard. LOL.
Is a little facial hair too much for ya?
no wonder law is really good, anyone notice that his sprite looks like they just re colored fei long? even sum of his moves are way to similiar.i kn they both are based of bruce lee but idk it looks to much like same 3d model to me.which wont surprise me cus capcom is lazy
For everyone saying that Seth said Vega and Law are the best of the characters, read it again. It clearly states that out of the 6 newly announced characters Vega and Law are his top two. It doesn't say that Vega and Law are the best out of the entire cast.
People freak out over everything and you guys aren't even reading it correctly.
This is a great day for every Vega user out there (myself included.) He is looking great in SF X TK. I spotted some new combos with him:
Cosmic Heel (DF + HK), cr.MK, cr.MP, EX FBA (Flying Barcelona Attack, Wall Dive), Izuna Drop.

At 0:56
Cr.MK, cr.MP, LP RCF (Rolling Crystal Flash.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=...
At 2:24
Also, he can now link cr.MP into his Super Art (Bloody High Claw, with the forward knee launcher.)
@34 with the exception of cr. mk xx cr. mp xx lp rcf (only works when you are point blank in the opponents face on certain characters. Too far away and it will be blocked) they are new. And beautiful might i add. I nerdgasmed when I saw the combo into ultra.
@#34
As #35 pointed out most of those are already preexisting combos tuned to work with the new engine.
As the way the juggling mechanics works, the opponent will stayed in a juggled state until they hit the ground like in tekken. So incorporating the cosmic heel into an already staple combo isnt exactly "new". just that normals wont air reset them like in sf4.
@#35
its his super now, thats why it vega was able to cancel into it from a normal. And if he continues to carry over his sf4 mechanics over, he should be able to super cancel into his super art from RCF. It was possible to do so with his super wall dive in sf4 series, but because it didnt hit on the way up it didnt combo.
Juri's the best character in the game. She's the best in any game she's in by default.
Leo is pretty BA, Baji-Quan=Beast
Bryan Fury, Lei Wulong, Feng Wei (fingers crossed)need to be in.
Cody also needs in
No big hurry for reveals, kids are so impatient...it doesn't matter when theyre revealed, calm down.
@ #37
Yeah, you summed it up well. They are old combos that benefit from the new Tekken juggle mechanic. But this is still pretty nice for Vega. It increases his damage output.
Also, it's called Super Arts, but they look like they behave more like Ultra's. As in you might not be able to cancel into Super Arts.
Even though I posted an example, I can't really tell if cr.MP > Super Art was cancelled or linked. I guess I need a more obvious example, like Hadoken > Shinku Hadoken.
I kinda miss the days where you didn't necessarily know about all of the characters until release, or at least there were SOME surprises. I agree with the poster above that a lot of opportunity for hype building was killed with the leak for Ultimate MvC3...that and they had a ridiculous amount of site demos and tests. I was almost burnt out just from watching gameplay vids before it even came out, and i dont even go out of my way to find gameplay vids lol. I'm purposefully staying away from the majority of sfxt's vids so i can have some surprises when i finally get to play the game.
@#41
Yeah his damage input looks much better. but from the vids ive seen, everyone got gotten the same treatment. Also there was a combo in one of the vids that was new, where he did cmp>ex ST>cmp>ex ST. And seeing how thats the case he should be to sub the last ex ST and do his super art instead(only need 2 bars for them)
Also i did refer to it as super art in my previous post"he should be able to super cancel into his super art from RCF".
But you can normal cancel into super arts in this game like you would say in 3rd strike.
There was a a few vids posted here the other day when Seth K. was playing relento and did something like cmk>full rekkas>C.lk>super art.
That Vid you linked earlier with the balrog combos in the beginning you can see him canceling his normals into his super:2nd combo cmp>headbutt>cmp>super|5th combo: s.lp>Super art.
While i cant recall anyone doing super cancels into the SA's, ive seen plenty of normal cancels into the SA's but seeing how lenient the juggling is its a non issue as far as super canceling.
If you cant tell if its a link or cancel just watch how the animation breaks into the super freeze, vega or balrog arms dont even retract first, just hit cancel instead of relying on the frame advantage from the normal.
Also to note alot of the frame data from sf4 seemed to have carried over. As vega is able to do :cmk>cmp, sHP>cmp, ex RCF>cmp. but the way the ABC combo system works in this game is like Darkstalkers priority lp>lk>mp>mk>hp>hk as far as chain comboing normals. Yet vega is able to do his links which can go the opposite of the chain priority. Same for balrog with SHK>lp. So with that in mind people that trained their link combos in sf4 should be able to carry over there timing into sfxt while the beginners can stick with the ABC combos.
This game is for casuals as they need no hype, they will just go to Gametop see the game and buy it.
@ #44
Oops, I forgot the cr.MP, HK ST (it wasn't EX), cr.MP, EX ST. He probably didn't even need the EX ST at the end, since in SSF4 you can do Anti-Air LK ST > HK ST.
I was taking notice of how frames look like before the Super Art flash and after, but I just wasn't sure.
How does the chain system work? Is it just the standard magic series (LP, MP, HP/LK, MK, HK) or the zigzag magic series (LP, LK, MP, MK, HP, HK)?
@#46
yeah i mentioned that in my post in a previous thread, about the sf4 version of the ST juggle. i was just pointing how something else could possibly follow up after. Altho the more i think about it Alot of these Vega combos require meter.
And about the chain system, during all the interviews and whatever they mentioned darkstalkers/marvel alot in reference to the system. So i assume it just just the priority system of the zigzag one. But its hard to tell due to the fact that alot of the sf4 character can already link in said fashion, not really much tekken character coverage and too many ryu footage. And ryu can already link in that order to a lesser extent. clp or Cmp>cmp/cmk/chp/chk so its hard to determine which way it is when his normals can already lead to the other.
Worst case senario, everyone is auto equipped with Juri's FSE. Which would allow people to use the benefit of the full darkstalkers zigzag chaining along with the linking which would allow certain characters to have small loops until they are pushed too far away.
Vega example would be cmk link cmp>chain cancel back into cmk> link cmp repeated until hes outta range(given vega reach would be problematic for most of the current cast)
Best case, using the standard magic series of light>med>heavy alternating from punch or kick but not 2 in the same group of strength, To prevent loops stated above( wouldnt want to see akuma with his Slp>far HK> slp> far HK infinite back again cause of chaining and linking mixing would we?)
