In a newly released financial report by Capcom through a PDF it was revealed that the successor Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 sold 600k copies up to this point in the fiscal year.2 Million Players, how many of them want to see the "Old favorites" Seth Killian mentioned after Rolento, Hugo and Poison were already out.
I doubt if sfxtk will sell 2mil. 1million is a gud goal but 2 mill with gems is quite a ballsy aim. Well I guess its acheivable.
Im kinda baffled that for the Pheonix Wright Sissle Color everything is correct...but when he calls in Missle (a pivitol character in the game) It's the Chibiterasu colors.
That's a pretty good number for a few months. Perhaps Capcom feels this new control scheme along with new fans and some old Tekken and SF fans will boost numbers a bit. 2 Milli is realistic. I like that.
seeing as how im buying 3 diff Collectors editions 2mill seems right.

It's a business report. Financial investors want to know how well their company's AAA products are doing and what they project them to do in the future.
I'm not sure what "old days" you are talking about "when developers weren't such money worms." Video game companies have ALWAYS been about money, they are a business after all. If they were a non-profit organization, that would be a different story.
UMVC3 did well despite being the 2nd version of the game. In case you lot didn't know, selling 2 million copies of SFxT is the aim that Capcom stated a long time ago. If the vanilla MVC3 can sell over 2 million units worldwide, I'm pretty sure that SFxT will sell the same amount or even more than MVC3.
2 million is pretty much the standard sales target for most "mainstream" fighting games, no surprise that it's the number Capcom is once again aiming for.
@10
They're a business in a booming industry after all, so they're going to talk about sales. Devs kind of always have, it's just more apparent nowadays.
@20
Yeah, very true. Looking at the sales of fighting games recently, 2 million copies is the main aim.
@ #10
This is why business talk should be left to people who know what they're talking about, and not random folks in a message board.
They aren't releasing these numbers to brag. They're releasing these numbers because they're a business, and like ALL business, they have to release financial reports from time to time.
and everyone was saying umvc3 flopped smh 600k is pretty good for a second version and not alot of casual players brought it ,as for sfxtk I think it will sell over 2 million I mean you got casual/hardcore sf fans then you got casual/hardcore tekken fans wanting this game

What game are you playing? It's no problem to find a match.
Wait, I forgot.....I'm trying to reason with a troll.
#24
Are you increadibly idiot?
If sales based on online play then
ssf4,ae sold 1000 copies
kof13 sold 50 copies
tekken sold 100 copies
marvel sold 3000 copies
I have almost all fighting games and if you call umvc3 online is dead, you are pretty stupid or you have no other fighting game
Glad to hear UMVC3 did well! While its certainly not the best fighting game I have played its still a lot of fun. SFxTK will easily do 2 million that name alone will get it sales.
When people look at the cover of the game and see Street fighter X tekken They're gonna but it.
The FGC is nowhere near as big as the average consumer base. I don't count us as the average consumer because we follow these games like every day religiously and know whats coming out months before it comes out. The average person is gonna get blindsided by this when they start advertising it like crazy on tv and boom you got your two million easy, Imo 2 million seems like they're underestimating themselves
Lmfao @ the main scrubs here, gokaigreen you're wrong again, summoner wrong again. Keep it up TROLLS thanx for always setting the idiot curve for the fgc. And b4 u say u didn't say that I checked your past posts. Exposed!
36@ shhhhhh yo don't disturb a rare creature like this in its natural habitat better know as trolltopia... let it die in peace so the world can be a better place. you can tell its nearing death because of his way of responding to its own comments......early signs off dementia. the end is near....
DAT THIRD VERSION OF MAHVEL/DLC CHARACTERS CONFIRMED!!!
Also, I can see SFxTekken easily getting to 2 million. It MIGHT even hit 3 million.
I'm buying it just because it's Capcom. I trust my favorite game producer. SFxT will sell very well - This, I am sure of...
And I think SFxT will sell 2 mil, but that is literally it. It won't do better than SFIV or MVC3. I can guarantee this. In fact, as long as Capcom continues to make the same games, every year, the sales will continuously decline.
Now would be a great time to make a fighter non Street Fighter related. Make people REALLY want the next SF when it does come along. Also would be good to spice up the market and genre. Darkstalkers and Rival Schools would be really cool, not now, but soon.
This is like Barack Obama's birth certificate crap fest.
I bought SF4, SSF4 and AE, won't be buying SFxT. I'm not boycotting Capcom, I just haven't had any interest in a team based game that makes tagging an essential part of the combat system. (That, and I'm not too keen on watching target combos all day.)
I like SF because I like one on one. So I wouldn't think it'd be a good idea for Capcom to base any sales of SFxT on how many people would have bought SF4, SSF4 and AE. (Not saying they are, just openly thinking.)
Business is business, but there's a huge difference between enticing a player to give you money vs trying to extract as much as you can.
But Capcom is no money worm, they put lots of work in their stuff. Hopefully them dlc rumors of SFxTK are true, cause Guy and Cody have to be in it. Its been like so long since they've been in a game. No time to be on disc, having been made from scratch...
lol at people who say "this game has gems, it wont sell well" ummm since when is the hardcore fanbase where majority of sales come from? this is STREET FIGHTER VS FREAKING TEKKEN, most people that grew up with these games, scrubby or not, will probably buy it.
Why anyone on Eventhubs would say they're NOT going to buy SFXT and expect us to take them seriously is crazy. It's like a Saint's fan saying they're not going to watch the Superbowl.
600,000 copies... yep.. it's a flop. unless Capcom sold 500,000 for the ps3 and xbox each, it's a flop... You can sugarcoated all you want saying it is a success since you want to combine the sell for the xbox/ps3 together.. If i was the Capcom CEO, I would be disappointed with this.. After selling 2 million copies from MVC3 to only sell 600,000 copies from UMVC3,you think Capcom is happy with that?
@58 are you retarded? it a year for SSF4 to sell a million.
umvc3 sold 600k in 2 months.
MALDA, are you blocking umvc3 news bcs u don't want to be reminded of this post from last month?
"LOL at people who are in denial thinking that UMVC3 sold 500K that is just to funny"
heh
A game obviously isn't going to flop based solely on some backlash from a certain percentage of the FGC.
600K?
That's embarassingly bad for an HD game with a huge budget on two of the biggest fighting game consoles this gen.
TvC had a budget 1/10th the size on a single SD console with no fighting game rep and an obscure roster and sold more than this...
nice.
