Today a patch went live for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, but Niitsuma hopped on today to confirm that the patch does not contain any balance changes.
Due to the large variety of inquiries, the latest patch does not touch the internal program data. No changes were made to overall character balance.
Would you expect Capcom to balance patch this game in the future or do you think they'll let the game stand as-is? Leave your thoughts below.

Besides keeping scrubs happy with Wesker?
I'm assuming the patch is just related to future DLC costumes, or some stuff like that, since they had to take out the Magneto alt.
It's nice how Niitsuma tells what the patch isn't, but doesn't say what it is.
The update is only 19mb so it cant be anything significant.
Well,that's it,I quit UMvC3. I'm going to sit quietly and wait for SFxT,and play that,cause that game doesn't have a win button. Noel Brown will continue to be a stupid fraud,and Capcom will never learn their lesson.

Just leave it alone I don't even give a crap that wesker is SS tier screw it everyone else is pretty viable I don't think this game needs any patches to balance characters this game will always have a Phoenix whatever it's name is

Wesker is annoying as hell. I'll give you that. But he definitely isn't overpowered. There's gotta be a character who's the best right? If it's not Wesker it's just gonna be someone else.
Patches cost money and if this did nothing significant why bother?

They made Rocket Raccoon and Iron-Fist's combos harder to do.
They should have gave PW a little bit of armor on his Break the Witness assist. not completely vulnerable.
Also, I'll say this again, I wouldn't even be surprised if Wesker is out of the top 3 within the next 6 months. He's great because he's so easy to use and be decent with, but I think Zero, Spencer, Dorm, and Viper all have the potential to be better.

I wouldn't mind Wesker as much if they made the glasses buff not stack with his X factor.
The patch could be to remove the magneto alt or for his substitute alt if they decide to do it. But as for Wesker to get patched we have to wait for the arcade edition or its just not going to happen.

It's the truth, I don't even use Wesker but I know how to deal with him. You just need to man the #$%^ up.

Wesker has been on my squad since before day 1. I used him in my hype-filled dreams as I waited for vanilla MvC3 to drop. Love the character ever since Code Veronica (didnt play much of RE1).
That being said even I hope they tone him down, because I feel like a lot of people use him only because he's strong, and I don't really like that mindset. Sure, one might argue that there will always be a best character, but we can still strive to lessen the gap between said character and the rest of the cast. I very rarely get to use XF3 /4 Wesker because he is in slot 2 of my team, but on the rare occasion he ends up being the last alive and I do use it, I can feel how ridiculous he is. Easy execution, good health, good range, good mix-up, insane damage.
learn how to play against wesker, instead of begging for nerfs.
thats how you get better. learn the matchup and develop strategies.
I knew this game would be MvC2 all over again, except instead of Storm, it's Wesker. Even still, I still like the game, and I don't want any further balance changes. I actually like learning how to fight bullsh*t characters
so sick of people saying "oh man up and learn to fight him" tthat still doesnt change the fact that hes op. the twins in ae got complained about the same way wesker did yet they ended up getting toned down to the point were no one really plays them.i honestly never thought they were that strong since i always could play that matchup fine since i used rose and and knew how to fight em yet thtat doesnt mean they still werent OP.

jp are just open tier whores and was it a coincidence the top 8 at a tourny had 6 yuns? i dont think so they are still playable b tier after a assload of nerfs. any other character got that many nerfs and they would be dan tier or worse think for a second
I don't play Wesker at all, but he isn't as bad as most players say he is. You have to zone/lame him out, it's the best viable way of beating him. If you don't use any characters that can do that then yeah you may have a hard time dealing with him... I suggest reorganizing your team if you can't though, because imo every team needs at least one character that has a little bit of zoning capabilities anyways.
A damage nerf would be nice though, but I don't think it needs to pushed by everyone so hard. Let it be for a while, in any case there's always going to be a best character in the game :/

yea we dont need a nerf, I play wesker and hes not op, I can beat other wesker too with my wesker. :)
hopefully it has to do with the missing icon man does anybody know in the titles screens selection theres a missing icon anybody figured it out or unlocked it yet?
I wouldn't say Wesker's broken, but he is definitely too strong as an anchor for how basic and accessible he is. Characters like Doom, Zero, Viper, etc. need work and good assists to be good. Wesker, you can just put on your team as an anchor and go nuts.
I'd say it is nerf-worthy. Him being in half(or more) of EVERY top 8 for this game is nonsense.
As for the "Oh, if you nerf the top tier, another character will take their place," so long as the character requires some work, I don't mind that. If you've got crazy Viper mixups or flashy, damaging Doom combos, I'd respect that.
Wesker is fun to play. So stop complaining about him, he's not broken, just no bad matchups.

Since when is a tournament has 6 yuns in top 8? which tournament is that? just because people whine about these characters being op you have to come up and make some bs like this? As far as I remember, Yun hasnt won anything major yet. 2012 already nerfed these character to the ground where no one even use them yet you still complain? really?
there is a difference between being the best characters and that character taking up not jsut 1st place but 2nd and 3rd.
Oh and people say learn how to deal with him. Well why not give examples.....cause u have none?.......because you are also using wesker?.........becasue your plan is character specific?
I play V.joe, Hulk, Capt.America as my main team and it is annoying as HELL to have to wait for some wesker to gimme even a lil bit of breathing space. heck i cant use invuln supers cause smart ones counter.
