Tekken X Street Fighter's producer, Katsuhiro Harada has been on Twitter answering some fan questions. These are all on different subjects from characters to button layouts.
Why did u decided to put a 6button system on TxSF - Carotenuto92
I said Street Fighter character= 6button Tekken character = 4button
You should consider the 8-way run system like in Soul Calibur 5 for Tekken X Street Fighter:) - Redd_Vel90
No. 8-way run is not good for TKxSF
Please Put Both of Karin And Poison For TxSF! They are Too Popular - 2_cody3
I'm planning "TKxSF Roster vote" on TEKKEN Facebook. Plz wait
Tip submitted by an anonymous reader.
Oh two diffrent button configs. This might be crazy....
im so glad harada isnt like ono no bull straight up character voting now no one can complain about that
The character vote is awesome. Its nice to see that there are game developers that care about their fans opinions.
#4 quit complaining about Ono already. Ono has sheer enthusiasm about what he does, its what convinced Capcom to even consider reviving the fighting genre and i bet good money that it was Ono who made the Capcom-Namco "X" games collaboration possible.
Harada seems to be playing it ultra safe and doesn't seem too excited about it at all. In fact 99.9% of excitement comes from Ono, a guy who made himself an easy target to attack by the same ppl who he lives to please.
NOTHING that Harada says is worth praise! So he keeps 6 buttons and has an ultra/super meter for SF characters yet Tekken characters retains its own gameplay style? How is that going to marry the 2 games together? So i say let's wait and see if the game is actually good before doing what seems to be popular these days and bash Ono. Ono even cried last time cause of fans being so merciless...come on ppl, these are GAMES made to entertain us, not warfare
#8 Agree
Both Ono and Harada are cool guys and neither of them should be bashed at.
Ono is just a guy who gets hyped real easily, so do I while Harada just keeps it real but I doubt he doesn't get happy over the idea either (or the X games would never be)
I'm not saying Ono is a bad guy but sometimes riddles get super old
And also I say that because I could take another troll session like that for TXSF lol I love Ono don't get to crazy
Yeah the Ono bashing really needs to stop. Disagree with his philosophy? Sure, that's one thing. But people are going out of their way to be complete a-holes about it.
I was appalled at all the sh** he took, and surprised that he even still communicates with the fans after that. I can't say I'd do the same in his shoes.
Regardless, more to the topic, character poll is a good idea, but hopefully they don't just go by that alone (which I doubt Harada will).
@#8
You ask people to drop on 'warfare' yet you are taunting them by saying that Ono deserves praise yet Harada don't.
It's the same as in a relationship, just because in the couple, the guy is very loving and the girl barely shows any emotion doesn't mean she doesn't really love him. Silly, I know, but Harada wouldn't be doing this if he didn't like the idea, that's just his personality, he has a more "badass"-"cool" attitude compared to the jester and teaser Ono is.
Let us respect their personalities, they deserve it.
Just cause its over the Internet it doesnt mean you should say whatever you want just cause you're safe at home in your onesy. I highly doubt a lot of the bashers would say the same things directly to Ono's face. If your gonna MSG Ono, do it with respect, he is a great man and a visionary, as well as your elder. Kids these days
I don't think people are getting that I'm not bashing Ono but keep making coments like I am even though I have said like 3 times that I like Ono
I like Harada's style. He's more upfront and isn't nearly as annoying as Ono.
Anyway, if TKxSF plays anything like T6 or SC5, I don't see any reason for them to include a 6 button style configuration. The only reason for this scheme in an SF game is to give different properties to the same move. I doubt this scheme will have any real purpose in a 3D environment.
I really don't see the point of keeping Street Fighter characters with a 6 button layout. I know it's much much harder to translate them into the tekken universe than vice versa, but it might take away the feeling of playing Street Fighter characters in Tekken. Oh well, I'll wait and see what happens, they obviously know what they doing.
Getdownbrown - well sorry but you posted like two minutes before I finished my comment! :p
I probably should have made it clear that it wasn't just your original comment (you can see how people would get that idea though, right?), but in general. Just a lot of Ono hate because god forbid the man has ideas. :p
@HolyDiver - I may be wrong, but I think they were talking about 8-way run from the Soul series . Only Tekken 4 had that, and honestly I'm glad... I wasn't a fan of it for Tekken.
I actually like Harada. So far, at least.
Now, his Capcom counterpart on the other hand...
#19
its simple: Ono gets bashed constantly and everywhere (so does Capcom). Harada doesn't. Is there a need for me to take Harada's side and "defend" him? No cause he doesn't need anyone to do it. I didn't bash Harada, i just stated that he doesn't show much emotion and that the very, very few things he said and showed so far of TXSF are not sufficient enough to be saying crap like "Harada knows what fans want, unlike Ono"
@roknin oh lol it's cool yea Ono does catch undeserved heat alot but he wants a new darkstalkers and in my book is straight awesome and he is responsible for bringing us SF again so I will always respect him and anyone that dang happy all the time can't be bad
I doubt Ono was crying over twitter comments. That doesn't seem like him at all. That guy seems to enjoy life way too much to let a couple douche bottles wreck his day.
I hit up Harada a few weeks ago on twitter about the character contest. He said that they may not even be guarantee. Still gonna vote for fun if they ever star it. lol.
TxSF is going to be over-shadowed soooooooooo baaaaaaaaaad. No wonder Harada doesn't care. Also, see how well you like character voting when 99% of the fanbase votes the most retarded characters EVER into the game, and you wish Namco wouldn't have been lazy and done it themselves.
Also,Team Tekken is free.
@#27
So, this is like... ¿"Let's bash the one who isn't constantly bashed"? ¿What are you playing?
You said Harada doesn't deserve praise for whatever he say. He is Harada, not Ono, and has his own personality, either authentic or fabricated for public appeal, that's him and if he doesn't say anything worth bashing, we don't bash him.
And well, people bash Ono because they don't understand him, it's common ignorance, a lot of players don't know that's Ono's job by teasing and "trolling", in the end he succeeds in creating mystery and hype, whereas Harada's style is being straightforward and to the core.
Neither one deserves bashing and both are great people.
tl;dr
The point is ¿why opting to bash someone instead of the other when asking for peace in your first post? That smells like... hypocrisy, with all due respect.
T x sf will be 3D engine like tekken I assume?
@27
Agreed. SF4 is basically 3 years old and still going strong, I think Ono is doing something right. If he is not necessarily giving the fans what they want, he's damn sure giving the fans what they LIKE, at the very least. Not that I have any problem with Harada, because I plan on being there day 1 for TxSF, just like I will be for SFxT, so to each his own. The FGC is just a bunch of haters though, that's all the comments section is, people hating on stuff.
@8 I disagree
Harada has shown lots of support, coming out to events, participating in Ono's "meant to be" silly challenges to promote this game, and he lets Ono win! He might not run around throwin his hands in the air, and smiling big, but just like Ono he has his character and personality and he's suppose to be serious all the time (I mean come on the guy is always wearing sun glasses)
Also how can what he said not be praised? Not only is he having a roster vote so the fans can have a voice( I mean Ono did the same and that was praised) but I love the button scheme he is going with 6 button for Sf characters, which the core SF fans are familar, and 4 button for Tekken which the core Tk fans are familar...He said nothing about giving SF character ultra/super and not TK...where u get that?
Also this is a better way to merge the communties, rather than coming up with a new universal scheme, the characters remain true to their franchise so, if a Tekken player who buys TXSF falls in love with a few Sf characters (and vice versa), the transition to playing sf won't be so hard because the button layout stayed true..
I'm a SF fan. I'm a better SF player than I'll ever be a Tekken player (something I'm trying to change, because I really love the realism that is Tekken) - But I was hoping to see the SF characters in a strictly Tekken environment - meaning no fireballs, no 6-buttons or anything SF related. Just a complete 3-D realm, 4 button layout (right arm, left arm, right leg, left leg), side stepping, realistic move-sets (much how Ono put the Tekken charactes in a stricly SF environment). But I'm sure Harada's version will be better than the hot mess Ono put together...
Why did the guy ask for Poison again? I say we try and get as many new SF characters as we can. Please no more repetition!
@48
I'll take everyone on that list except for Sawada...fvck that guy.
Man, Imagine if these guys got the license from arika to use their characters. TxS would be a first day buy with vulcano rosso or pollum purna in. Or maybe a first month buy being the cliché broke college student.
Dude keeps it a 100% I respect that. I'm looking more to this than Capcom version since its tricky to translate sf characters into tekkens world.
Characters from sf that fit perfect into the tekken world are pretty much the whole cast of sf 2 just make the projectiles a sort of super or special that can only be pulled off with meter.
I'm hoping this year at E3 they reveal something or at the Tokyo game show.
SO REFRESHING TO HAVE AN EXECUTIVE PRODUCER WHO ISN'T TROLLING US. This is what I like, if you're going to answer a question, give it a strait and clear answer, not that Capcom PR BS trolling answers: "wait, maybe, maybe not, I call BS, who knows, it's internal, we have no saying in that and we aint going to tell you who to address either, smileys, blanka doll, CHOOZDEH, ETC..."
LOVE ONO THOUGH.
