Yeah but he didn't have as much experience with Seth. I wonder how Eita or Infiltration is doing with Akuma.
Tokido is not at his better, but he was already like that in 2010, when he get bodied at first Godsgarden online, not qualifying for the second round, loosing Stunfest 2010, and loosing EVO 2010 against JR Rodriguez.
The problem is not Akuma 2012, just taking a look at Eita's stream who often fights the finest players is enough to understand.
I think -6 is the best example as to why Akuma is considered strong in 2012. Currently he's probably the best Akuma along with Infiltration and Tokido.

No way he's 'crazy strong' in 2012, especially considering that they made his vortex even weaker (just block low to shut him down, the only risk is a 150 damage grab nobody is scared of since he can't stun), and Tokido is clearly paying for that.
Add to that the roundhouse nerf which made two favorable matchups a lot worse, and he's not that high anymore, from a tier perspective.
Still, this game is damn balanced, so it's everybody's match.
@ #10
-6 is just flashy (standing roundhouse all the time, he loves that but it's useless), he can't win anything in tournaments.
Too easy to reduce your hit box and avoid Guy's Izuna Elbow and his Shadow kick...comes with an immediate punish also.
@#15
If you resume -6 to a "flashy" payer, who can't do anything in tournament,I think you never saw a single match from this guy.
Come on, -6 already proved he is one of the finest players in Japan, in tournament against the strongest players, and on the Xboxlive.
Please remember -6 is #10 on arcades, with 175K BP and 74% victories.
His footsies and mind game are amazing,he is definitely a top class player.
>notable people

pick one, eventhubs.
no hate but i see nothing special on this guy.
This is probably the end of Tokido. The way he played in topanga was just a kickoff, and now he's got beaten by players who actually appear lot below his level.
Take Cody player for example. he did Ex zonk all the time. Having played tokido couple of times in casuals, he'd figured all out how to smear murderface with sh!t. and believe me, that cody's gameplay didn't come along anywhere near to momochi or sasaki.
Tokido has a long way to gain his confidence back. even if he does, he's not gonna get vanilla/super/ae akuma to save his arse.
The mai problem with these japanese players is that they sit in arcade all day and play too much. One needs to go out n do some physical exertion to keep healthy both physically and mentally. Therefore no matter how much they practice or how good their execution skills are, they get figured out and choke in the end.
Akuma is still a great character, just not in the hands of Tokido anymore. Tokido's playstyle pretty much focused entirely on the vortex. His footsies have always been bad and he's always sucked at fundamental things like anti-airing. Now that the vortex is nerfed and those things are more important than before, he's exposed. I'm pretty sure he'll switch main to Seth because that's a much better fit for him right now imo.
To the guy saying -6 can't win anything in tournaments... In the grand finals of a 5v5 capcom tournament he OCV'd a team consisting of Haitani, Eita, MDR, Kindevu and the top japanese bison. Still gonna say that crap? He's legit.
I wish there was a filter for these comments where you can seperate people's useful info & people just D riding with "agree" any chance they get, along with having a full on convo within the whole post.. I know there is an eventhubs chatroom for all that
Oh you guys...
You're all talking about Tokido like you too are regular international tournament players who have been around for years. You're all saying that a) Tokido has lost it and b) Akuma mustn't be as strong in 2012 as we first thought - just because Tokido had a couple of fail tournaments in the last month? Ridiculous! Tokido is still godlike, Akuma is still top tier. And don't discredit them or be salty because he got beat by a bunch of European 'scrubs' when he pretty much bodies the rest of the world. European players moving on up! Congrats to Starnab and Ryan.

This is probably the end of Tokido. "
Some comments still shock me. Its February the 2nd, there's a whole years worth of tournaments to come. Every single player goes through a 'bad patch'. What makes them decent is how they come through it i.e. J Wong, Daigo etc, all gone through bad patches. So to say it's the end of him is such a silly comment.
@#26
I wonder who you are, so obvious........
@ #22
You're wrong, stop hugging him.
-6 is amazing, arguably the most entertaining Akuma around and definitely on of the best, but he's not nearly as good as Tokido, whose vortex is superior, or Infiltration, who annihilates both of them footsies wise.
@ #28
Oh yeah, a team event with single elimination? Sure, that must count a hell of a lot right, it's totally impossibile for top players to snatch a single win against each other.
@ #32
People still think Akuma is teh best in the game because saw him destroying things (actually, Sagats) in vanilla where he was just broken, but don't actually have a clue about the character and assume he's still the same.
Well he's not, been nerfed in every iteration of SF4 after vanilla, and other characters (for better, because this is probably the most balanced version of SF4) finally caught up on him.
ffs.. this is what exposure leads to. People grew tired and spew bs.
Its probably your own fault feeding your brain with all these high level players montage that you put them on this high imaginary pedestal, believing that they are unbeatable when in truth they win and lose like everyone else.
Noone is truly unbeatable but that doesn't mean they are a fraud.
When one or a few dominates, people get bored saying there's no competition and the rest are all too free.
When it gets competitive and everyone seems capable of beating anyone else, everyone seems to be labelled and being called a fraud.
What a load crock of sh1te.
FGC on full retard mode again. You're saying one of the 5 gods is a has been? The same guy that gets top 4 in almost every game at US majors? F*** me.

LOL I really think you didn't get how Roku's footsies are good, please check the 1 hour+ footage of his Akuma against Michael Tan, or the last A-cho,he was able to reach semi finals in a tournament with plenty of Top players with a crappy team.
And please, chekec the way he uses the demon flip,it is just too good.
Some Japanese think he is as good as Tokido.
Im really sad to see so much hate for Tokido...I guess the haters also forgot the NSB 30 Grand Final Game where he OCV'd the other team. But of course on the internet everyone is a better player /sarcasm
Also -6 is a great player, he just cracks in most tourneys - like Mago.
I think Ryan Hart got robbed from this tourney. All of a sudden in the final round they start playing with best of 5 rounds instead of two. If they would have just played best of three Ryan Hart wins the tourney easy, he got to two rounds three times before Starnab, just something to notice, I don't think it should switch to 3 out of 5 rounds unless the rest of the tourney was run that way.
Tokido is still a great player guys, but there are other great players out there. And like anybody else, even the best can lose. Who knows? He may be going through something. You also have to take in to consideration that he plays Tekken, Blazblue, and is training for SF x Tekken, which all have a different systems which you have to adjust to. He hasn't lost it. Just hit a rough patch somewhere. Look what happened to Daigo last year at EVO. Now all of a sudden, everybody thinks these guys are frauds. Try sitting next to them and play a match or two and see if you don't feel a little nervousness and/or excitement and see how much of a fraud they are.
Oh and just to note. If Tokido and -6 are in a tournament, Tokido always places higher
(Without question -6 is an amazing player)
Such amazing commentary...
Nice..Good punish..I think that was intentional..that was not intentional, he dropped his combo..Oh nice.. wow really good...wow..
And to the bellends bitching about the commentary, it's obvious that English isn't the commentators 1st language.
Saying that, he probably speaks it better than most of you so cut him some slack and be grateful he decided to speak in English.
if it weren;t for Guys terrible frame data and wonky hit boxes I'm convinced he would have be the games yun before yun were introduced. he truly could have been devastating
Hmm, Tokido's not playing like his usual best. From my experience, I know for a fact that Tokido will come back strong. He's in the cycle where he's not playing at his best at the moment and watch, some time later, he's going to play at his best again.
This happened when 'notable player' Kenz0 met MBR in losers quarter.

Do you people not realize that when international players like Tokido go overseas (like evo) they probably have mad jet lag? They get there probably within 24 hours before the tournament starts and have to use an great deal of focus. Traveling on a plane for several hours does make you feel wonky. As for Topanga, *shrugs, no excuses.
I find it pretty insulting that you guys are going around saying these Euro players are below his (Tokido's) level, and I troll euro players all the time just ask Churchill during the Canada Cup.
Tokido....there you go:
Shadowloo Showdown 2011:
4. MCZ|Tokido (Akuma)
EVO 2011:
5. MCZ|Tokido (Akuma)
GodsGarden 4:
4. MCZ|Tokido (Akuma)
Season's Beatings Velocity:
4. MCZ|Tokido (Akuma)
CanadaCup 2011:
4. MCZ|Tokido (Akuma)
That's quite impressive if you ask me!
@#58:
Battle log for Kenzo:
Kenzo beats imyourfather
Kenzo beats Thomson (Rufus)
Kenzo beats La Symphonie (Zangief)
Kenzo loses to Prodigal Son (Sagat)
Kenzo loses to MBR (Gouki)
Battle log for Tokido:
Tokido beats Halibel (Cammy)
Tokido loses to Elwood Blues (Guy)
Tokido beats ToxicMezo (Cody)
Tokido beats OrkanOne (Dhalsim)
Tokido beats Emersion (Claw)
Tokido loses to TR Sheva (Cody)
so Tokido actually has more wins than Kenzo but was sent to losers bracket earlier.
tokido falling off :-(
