That's where infiltration's notes come into play. when he uses gouken he has setups, match up specific stuffs. his gouken is arguably one of the best if not the best. Same thing with his hakan. I hope Jwong and PR rog understand that Gamerbee and Fuudo couldn't bet Inf nor Daigo before picking Adon and Fei. If you don't treat you secondary as a main, counterpicking won't work in my opinion.

Yun with yang
Akuma with Evil Ryu? Kappa face

I would think everybody has a second or even up to a fifth character.

....all of them are different chars...this ain,t sf2 (and still ryu and ken are bit different there)

quite a few yun seconds in the top players. Is he particularly nasty in some match ups?

Basically main for good zoning and rush character secondary like yun against zoning chars, like ryu cammy, saggat yun etc etc to cover matchups.

Yeah Yun's a great secondary for Gamerbee alright.

Gamerbee and Yun? Not really.

This game is balanced but match-ups will eat you alive.

I'm a Dudley player with a pocket Dan. It's crazy, but it's amazing how often it works in my favor.

Maybe I should consider finding a higher tier character that fits my style haha.

Gamerbee just started using Yun, he admitted himself he must put more work on it.

It's a bit a strange example he gives, as the only one who I've actually seen being succesful with a secondary is Infiltration, and honestly I think that's due to his skill and low-tier character choice, more than due to better matchups for his Akuma.

The others I either never heard of, or I saw them lose pretty hard like Gamerbee did with Yun in SF25th. So i'm not convinced at all

so if i main akuma,should my secondary be balrog since he covers all the bad matchups?

Some example would be of people who had success with multiple characters I've seen

Ryan Hart(Ryu) beat Daigo(Ryu)
Ricky Ortiz(Chun) beat Vangief(Zangief)
Riceata(Blanka\Honda) beat Infiltration (Akuma\Gouken)
Daigo(Yun) beat some Dhalsim player at the Japan 25th
Momochi(Akuma) beat everyone at UK 25th except Mago

and so on and so forth.

That never happened. FYI: Sagat, Oni, Cody, Ken, Fei, Yang, Fei and Fei were the matches Daigo played in the Japan 25th qual, and it was all with Ryu. KichijojiKen took out the 'Sim Daigo would have played against. And who knows if he even would have switched to Yun for that match.

Daigo actually hasn't used Yun at all since South East Asia Major earlier this year.

it would be a "best practice" to do so, but the tiers are not the only variable here.....ie: I main Akuma too, and my secondary is seth, both are 4-6 against c.viper, and still don't know why is so easy cake for me to win that match with Seth, in the other hand with Akuma I lost that match most of the time (even if is an intermedium level player using viper).....

i got guile blanka bison balrog. all low tier fighters. oh well.....

I know it's old news but I still have not forgot JustinW talking shiz about Adon and now all of a sudden he's using him. I know most will say that it was a long time ago, but I haven't forgotten his shiz talking. Just saying.

Yun was Daigo's main. Yun isn't exactly Daigo's secondary character if he refuses to use him when he needs to like against Infiltration. Daigo had succes with Guile when he needed it, Canada Cup against Mago.

Balrog is my main with Dhalsim 2nd, just always liked the characters but cant have sim getting blown up by rush down!

Trying to pick up Abel but is tough!!

The primary reason to pick a secondary, is to cover your main's weaknesses.

I do that, but I'm learning different playstyles (which was my main reason).

I don't have secondaries, I feel all my characters are mains. :)

I play Zangief, Chun-Li, Guile, for now. I want to learn Dhalsim and a rush down character.
