Emperor Cow is back again with another Dead or Alive 5 tutorial. This one features WW|Ryan Hart and they cover strikes and the height properties, strings, power blows, tracking, crushes and understanding frame data of them.

Why is it (x-2) ?

Its not off by 2 frames as people seem to think. the Frame data reading is accurate. It's just not expressed in the most conventional way that other games explain it.

the reason its -2 is because :
1) it does not register the frame of input as part of the start up. thats the first missing frame.
2) it completely separates the start up from active frames, making you lose the second frame.
so its 1 frame before and one frame after.

I didn't want to elaborate on it too much in the vid to avoid confusing new comers.

But I hope this make things a bit more clear for you. :)
