good platformer with lots of thinking and logic! ...i still play Exodus and Odyssey from time to time and i never get bored of it! though those sequel for next gen consoles was simply horrible...an abomination at its best...

I've never played the Oddworld games, but with the slew of HD remakes coming out, I'm destined to try one. Any new character for this game is good news to me, so bring on Abe! Hell, do an Abe + Crash Bandicoot + Gravity Rush/MediEvil level update!

His level three should be; Drinking Soulstorm Brew > Farting out a huge fart cloud that explodes and kills everyone > then he laughs. Or(!), having one similar to Dante's Devil Trigger where he turns in Shrykull and you can run after everyone on screen.

This would definitely make the game more appealing. Why would they reject Abe of all people? Everyone I speak to about ps1 era knows and loves him.

i think abe would have one of the more interesting movesets i would love seeing him possess the other players really alot of possibilities can't wait til this games price drops

Abe would be perfect, as he fits very much into the PS-theme. sadly they went multi-plat later down the line, so I guess that's the reason.

That game was so cool, I was damn young, so thoose were hard.

Abe which started on PS1 vs other multi plat characters that didn't even appear on a PS brand first... yeah lets choose the characters that doesn't even represent the playstation name in a game called Playstation All-Stars

Explain to me why that's bad exactly? So you're saying that Nathan Drake vs a Big Daddy is bad? Do you even acknowledge games like Smash Bros which feature Sonic and Snake?

I hope it's just me that I'm skisonic tier when it comes to reading skills, because otherwise I don't see why would someone with actual console and brand knowledge say characters like Ratchet, Jak, Sly, Nariko, Sir Daniel, Toro (which is the PS mascot in Japan) and many more don't represent the Playstation Brand, because that's just talking out of pure ignorance. Sly, Jak and Ratchet were as important to PS2 as Spyro, Crash, Sir Daniel and Abe to PS1. Nariko, Nathan and Kratos are PS3's more emblematic characters and they still made the cut, same with Kat which is pretty much the poster girl for the PS Vita. The only "multi-console" or "not brand first" characters I can think of right now are Raiden, Bid Daddy and Dante, and that's just 2 out of 20. So, like I said, I hope I didn't get your post right, because if I did, god damn you made yourself look bad.

OTOH: what the fukk is wrong with you, Superbot? You keep crying that you can't put Spyro and Crash in the game, yet you diss the ONE character the copyright holder is willing to give you to put in it? Let it be known DLC is pretty much the way to keep this game updated, at least until you have a bigger and better update for the next gen console. Focus on the characters you can get, don't overwork yourselves with the ones you can not (especially because it's not your fault).

How about using some logic processing skills.

The fact they showed "no interest" in a character like Abe, and choose Raiden, Big Daddy, new Heihachi(yes I know the reason for new over old Heihachi) and ugly @ss Dante over the way more recognizable characters that people ACTUALLY saw on the front of PS covers like Snake and Kazuya and original Dante.

Just the fact they put importance of these secondary and non related characters over what should've been the characters that ACTUALLY represented Sony's brand, was a fail.
A character like Abe where the developer WANTED Superbot to use was passed on, yeah, why the F are you still arguing you retard.

This is not a already established game that you can add extra wacky characters and people will still buy; you are creating a new game and TRYING to get people to play it, yet you make what's important about this game (which is the ALL STARS part) secondary. The only reason the game is even on this site is cuz some people from the FG community worked on it. But whoever was in charge obviously his priority is to make HIS own fighting game instead of trying to make a good game that suited the name.

And whoever was in charge obviously doesn't give a rats @ss about what characters really represented Sony. More like "hey i liked Bioshock on my 360, lets put him in, I used Heihachi in Tekken lets put him in. Who the hell is Abe, I didn't play so it doesn't matter."

I think everybody can agree that the initial roster for this game is so far from ideal as so many other characters are way more recognizable by average PS consumers and way more important part of the PS history.
Even if you started gaming this gen, the roster is just there for people to laugh at.
Rights problem, they could and should've already fought for before they started production. And now with this story surfacing, and you still can't see that this project was a hack job, then YOU are a fail. Hope you got enough reading skills to get that.

They are already trying to make a 2nd game, hope Sony'll put somebody that actually cares about the brand in charge this time.

I wanna see the boy from 'Heart Of Darkness', that would be sweet. Abe is also cool, Superbot probably not putting him in as there is no Abe game to promote and maximise money off...

I thought Oddworld is more known as a PC game. It's also quite surprising that Alucard was not included in the roster especially that SOTN used to be PS1's killer app.

That's just as surprising as Cloud not making the initial roster because his game was also the PS1's killer app from the start. Though, no one is arguing about this one. No, now they're all about the edgier female Cloud named Lightning from FF XIII.

There's still some characters that would deservedly need to be included in the game before any rpg character that isn't Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts related. My two cents, but we can always hope though.
