SFA3 needs to be brought to consoles with online!

We really shouldn't be pushing for so many new fighting games, it is just separating all of us, there are already so many great fighting games out now and all of them take time to play.

Street Fighter Alpha 4 would be awesome.... It'd be even more awesome if it took place way before Street Fighter 1. Young Gouken and Akuma!

If they do make an Alpha 4, I hope it uses HD sprites! The 3D look of the newer Street Fighters isn't bad, but Alpha ought always be sprited.

I never really cared for the alpha series, and if they do a re-release it'll go the way of sf3oe. Everyone wants it for nostalgic reasons but after a month only the diehards will still be playing. I'd play an alpha 4 though.

I really loved the Alpha series, especially those Dramatic Battles, and the World Tour mode. Those were the stuff of awesome memories.

Before anyone starts getting hopes for SFA4, I BELIEVE HE WAS TALKING ABOUT A HD PORT of Alpha 3. Cmon guys this is Capcom they love sprinkling little tabs of old titles in our face teasing a brand new game when its just a rehash. Last thing they did for us was SFxT and the future looks like SFxT to me thats about it.

No matter what they add to it, you'll still suck at it.

People shouting for Alpha 3, none of them can play it or even attempted to.
People shouting for Alpha 2, can't play Alpha 3 and so have this ravenous hate for it.

Oh no infinites in a fighting game means videos are cut down!? What about all the ToD's in others? They are no different. Your character is guaranteed death. Honestly as well, if Marvel 3 infinites get as bad as Alpha 3 infinites, I'd hope they got cut out of the video too, but they won't because "mad hype!!!!!!!!!!" because people pretend they're hard to do when Alpha 3 crouch cancel stuff is far beyond Marvel 3 in terms of execution and even set up for infinites.

Not to mention all the infinites in Alpha 3 can be avoided by not using your activation in the wrong place like a monkey would.

As far as the meter game being a huge part of Alpha 3, well yeah of course it is. The V-ism meter builds insanely quickly and gives an insane amount of damage and payoff for good reads with the invincibility and such, though people always forget you can't block during V and there's 1 frame of vulnerability before you can do anything(so if you do it right, they lose 50% meter and get hit). But of course I don't expect the casual audience as well as the people who got into other games before and even after Alpha 3 to know any of this, yet they will carry the words of popularity to slate a game they have no understanding of.

edit: Knew I'd forget something, I really don't want a port of Alpha 3 despite playing it a bit, because it's already available to me on GGPO, and like the other ports I can assume there will be imperfections and probably be correct. Not to mention they will probably take the later Alpha 3 ports including the Upper version of arcade which had no access to things such as crouch cancels, essentially making the majority of the cast worse and leaving the top 3 practically untouched(making them stronger). The top 3 being Akuma/Gouki, Dhalsim and Sodom who have no practical use for crouch cancels.

If Ono really liked the series, then he should do an alpha 4 already...

Yeah, I'd totally be down for A3Max Online Edition. But A4 would be cool if they make some more ism's to cater to other types of SF fans. Something for 3rd strike and something for SFIV.

tbh though, A4 wouldn't feel right if it didn't look like cps2. If it looks like SFIV I'll be pretty disappointed. Though I'd be ok with TvC style.

porting alpha 3... heh... it was a great game, on paper, and me and my friends had a blast with it since we didnt know any advanced tech, but v-ism was kind of broke.

alpha 4? i don't know also, i mean, if there's going to be a complete new version of street fighter i think they should go with 5.

Oh yes please make it happen. I will buy a A3Max or even a new A4, just give it online play with SFxT online training, which should be the standard for all fighting games now. Bring it to the Xbox 360 or even the new Xbox 720.

Street Fighter Alpha 4 (renamed to something else tho) as PS4 Launch title, which will get a yearly updates with a few new characters, stages, modes, trials and balance updates (those are universal free). This way we can have one game active for the entire duration of the next-gen.

If they do HD Alpha 3 I hope they just try to make it really fun.

If they don't go for massively different/fun I believe the naysayers will be correct. The game will be picked up for a month and then dropped like its hot.

Alpha 4? Idk, I'll stay reserved until I hear more on this. But I'm kinda spent on prequels for now. (SF4 was also a prequel). Any chance the series could actually move forward and answer a few 25 year burning plot holes? And btw, sf4/ssf4 created a few new ones as well.

@9 nope, i also like alpha 2 gold the best of them all. played it for HOURS on sega saturn. Honestly, alpha 3 was TO MUCH progression for me from alpha 2.

I'd like to see Online Training mode for AE before. And in the same year on both consoles and PC. Trials would be nice for AE characters aswell.

To me, Alpha 3 is the best Street Fighter ever, period. Everything about it was perfect, from the gameplay to the hype announcer, it was all fantastic and I still play it to this day both on PS1 and PSP, but I'll be damned if Ono has a hand in Alpha 4. He'll be bound to f*ck it up one way or another, you know that.

I know what I'm about to say will NNNEVERRR happen but it's still fun to think that could - like the old Marvel Comics "What If" Series! I like Street Fighter Alpha but it's like Been There Done That so, WHAT IF Capcom did a new franchise: Street Fighter Omega which would take place quite a few year in the future. . .

It's would have a mix of new and old one faces (literally) for instance Ryu was closer to Gouken's age and intead of Ken you'd use his son who'd now be around 18. There's alot of untapped potential in an idea like this ;D

Listening to people say Alpha 3 was perfect, what was exactly perfect about A3, V-ism blowing everything out of the window and winning the match because you pressed 2 buttons the right moment. Crouch cancel infinite juggles. What WAS Perfect about Alpha 3 ?!

A port with all of the content from the series (BG's. music, character GFX) could be pretty cool. I'd rather they stayed away from an Alpha 4 though. Since Capcom seems so paranoid of going back to hand drawn graphics these days, they should just make a new Rival Schools game instead. Those characters could actually benefit from a 3D upgrade.

But y'know, they might as well just add every remaining Alpha and SF3 character to SF4. With the assets from SFxT, they're more than halfway there already.

I want to see Street Fighter Alpha -1: The story of Gouki and Gouken. They'll be like the Ken and Ryu of that game. Bison and Gen will be young. Chun li's and Dan's fathers will be playable.

out of all the Street fighter games i have to Say ALPHA 3 had the most Details,The music,the Backgrounds in the stages,the characters and character specific intros.

@44 Well yeah gameplay wise a3 was a lot worse than a2 but everything else was pretty good music,announcer,and stages was cool I do like a2 stages more tho lol

I love Alpha 2/3, and I'd love to see like a SF Origins package of 2 and 3 together w/ GGPO play, the original arcade versions. Forget about Gold+Upper+Max.

On the other hand, if there was gonna be a SFA4, bring back that World Tour mode. Gameplay wise though, I'd want something more like Alpha 2, but without Custom Combo's.

That is soooooo true. I wouldn't want a 2.5D Alpha, either. Alpha had that Comic/Anime feel to it. I realize this worked for Marvel, but still, I don't want Alpha if it doesn't look like a 90's cartoon.

They would be better served just doing a Fighting Street Remake and retconning Akuma/Gouken into the story.

Alpha 3 Max imho was the closest SF to being perfect. Despite the balance issues, the roster was excellent, the concept of ism's was great, and the backgrounds were lovely. The only issues I had with it were the removal of iconic character themes and all previous stages, an online edition can easily fix those.

I hope this is not another HD remake of something old, I just want Capcom to stop stalling and make a new game already

@6 that's a perfect idea, bring back lee, retsu and geki and give it a Alpha 2 feel, Alpha 3 was too over the top, it felt more like a MVC game than a SF game.

If they want to port Alpha 3, then I really hope that they port the latest PSP version and NOT that underwhelming arcade version. Seriously... SCREW ARCADE PERFECTION PEOPLE! Give me games with actual content and their latest iterations.

Bring back Pocket Fighters or Powerstone; SF4, MVSC3 and SFXT we've had enough "serious fighters" over the past few years. It would be nice to have something a little more laid back.

i was never a fan of Alpha. but that's just me. Darkstalkers first, then Ono can do whatever.

I honestly hated the alpha 3 themes except for Rose's theme.

I loved Ryu's SFA3 theme, but that's it. Can't remember Rose's but her SFA/SFA2 theme was perfect to me. Vega had a good SFA3 theme too. I think I hated pretty much every other one. Actually Final Bison was the best one. But that's seriously it right there for SFA3 themes.

A2-3 and 3S are my fav SF games, w/SFIV right under them. I would love to see the
PSP version of A3 hit PSN/XBL with HD and online capabilities. Would make for a
great x-mas gift lol

SFA3 has some good themes imo, like Ryu, Cammy, Rose, Dan, Sodom, Charlie, Ken, Balrog.

Alpha 2 is quite possibly my favorite of all of the Street Fighter games but in all honesty I'd like a more polished Alpha 3 Max.

I'm done with ports personally. You pretty much pay 15$ to play novices online for a month & then the game is dead online. It's easier to just stick to GGPO. I still kick myself over buying KoF 2002 UM, Garou: MotW, 3sOE, & HDR

When I saw "A New Street Fighter Alpha HD (using Alpha 3 as a base + new characters)" on the survey I about exploded with moisture.

I saw let's do this. New alpha with new HD 2d graphics n new characters will be sweet. Me personally would love to see a story before Ryu n Ken, focus on Gouken n Akuma imagine a the new characters n fighting styles they can have in this game.
