Lastly, a new trailer for the Da Ultimate Crushing 2013 announces it is collaboratingwith GodsGarden EU and will feature multiple-games instead of just Street Fighter 4 like last year's event. This tournament is being held in Bad Cannstatt, Germany on January 26-27, 2013.

Alot of people care about Virtua "fieghtr" just not enough in the states, i guess thats why SEGA is throwing a tourney here to get some of the VF players to come out.
@chachadesmond
We present for the jury Exhibit A:
The Problem.
Well this is one tourney I won't be watching. But then again I haven't watching many lately anyways.
@3 He isn't the problem. His one voice isn't what killed this game.
@illness690
You're right. It was many, many voices saying the same ignorant thing with absolutely no basis before even giving the game a chance to be appreciated, flying straight in the face of all the promotion and discounts Sega could possibly muster and the general sentiment that it's the least fraudulent game out there...
Yes, that was what killed Virtua Fieghtr.
The gameplay seems alright, but none of the characters really appealed to me :S. I mean I'm not big on 3D fighters anyway but I still know a little bit of Tekken, Soul Calibur and DoA.
@4 No. But his comment is representative of the mentality that sees VF neglected. Although to call it a mentality is, to perhaps give it too much credit. Given how the statement (and implied opinion) is completely unsubstantiated; and were he to back it up, I'd probably remain unconvinced
Game is fun and the netcode is the best of any fighter to date.
Problem is... too many easier fighters to get into and the community for this series is really small.
I hope that people will come out and support this VF tournament. We already know how its scene died out so quickly over there at Wednesday Night Fights.
VF does have some super generic character designs, but it also has (like all 3D fighters these days) hundreds of costume options to make them look a lot less boring.
@5
IMO the haters are the least of Virtua Fighter's problems. Like Mike Watson said the VF scene itself didn't support the game enough; VF's core players themselves can't even be bothered to show up for their own game's events.
Brawl has a lot of haters, but at least their core group do stay together and support their own scene.
Against apathy like that, I'd be thankful for haters giving free publicity. There's always some people who'd try a game out because a troll is saying it's bad.
@13 Yeah Tekken's animation is pretty bad. I don't think they've changed anything at all throughout the years besides graphics. That being said, VF5's graphics do look dated when you put it next to games like SC5 and TTT2. Graphics, not animation.
Game doesnt have to be popular for it to be a great game or enjoyable. @illness690 of course the graphics look dated VF5 was released how long ago? The animation however is top notch for a 3D fighting game and in my opinion the best animation of any 3D fighter.
I seriously dont understand the people who are posting that dont care for the game lol dont you guys have something better to do then troll? Guess your that insecure about your favorite fighting games. Long live VF and i cant wait to see a VF6.
@15 Why are you so butthurt on all your comments? I know the game is old silly boy, it was the first fighter I got on my PS3 back in '06. I was listing that as one of the reason why the game isn't well received nowadays. You reading comprehension skills, or lack thereof, are showing <3

Except people have been saying that about VF for years. It didn't just start with VF5.
I owned Remix and 2 for Sega Saturn, and tried 4 and 5 when they came out. The game just isn't very exciting to watch or play. Hence, nobody playing or paying attention to it.
Sorry, i'm not a fanboy and a i really hated t6 but tekken is one of the very few series where characters move like real people and not like puppets. a series that has always been praised for its animations, less for its graphics.
Just compare king/Jaycee's animations with those of el blaze...
said that, VF5 still got amazing graphics and it doesn't look like a 5/6 years old game. Netcode is one of the best and gameplay is deep and rewarding. the problem is, and always has been, the lack of contents, few and generic characters and no story mode. Vf it's a barebones series compared to the others.
although a lot of people feel VF5 has that plastic look, the graphics actually are much more technically advanced than tekken, SCV, and any other 3D game. from a graphics engineering and design view, looking at things like versatility, polygon counts and such, it is definitely superior.
as for the style and how these advanced graphics present itself... well, that may not be everyone's (or even most people's) taste.
from a technical perspective, the stages in VF5 are much more advanced too.
i acknowledge that most people don't like the look though. it's not for everyone.
@20 we all know that unless japan or aussie comes, or ryan hart polishes up, LA Akira is winning this.
Best FG series. But too technical and you can't get the kids in USA to appreciate a game with this type of learning curve.
VF4evo was the best. Minami vs Homestay vs Chibita vs Jin vs SHU vs... etc
i'm starting to see a pattern of a few peeps posting banal thoughts about a great game I'm looking at you illness/chachadesmond. The game had a bad rep for being too hard to play vffs rectified that maybe a little too late for most simple people(casuals) to understand or get into. If u play a fighter it's easier to enjoy watching something that u play u can appreciate highly level play so much more. Vf is not boring it's in the states games are made in mind that americans want easy mode games with flashy imagery and comeback mechanics (a little is even in tekken and scV). It's a great game just find someone who is of similar skill level to you and continue from there. Oh and illness you got alot of flack from the last article on vf no longer at wnf wats your deal man?
@24 edrigo,
everyone has their own interests. don't worry about it. the community as a whole is like that. probably the main reason i don't care for the scenes of any particular game. i like playing games and sure, take them seriously enough to try improving and have fun in the process, but this kinda stuff is day in and day out for the community and it's pretty depressing.
everyone refers to the pre-2009 era as the Dark Ages for fighting games, but i don't ever remember people getting worked up and taking anything past the simple enjoyment of something. it's really sad.
i feel bad for it all, but that's just the way it turned out.
@Cosmo26
Jaycee has some really cool moves, i like her fd33, up fd 12 3 ,3+4 for example but she's more of a hybrid fifghter cause of his old julia movelist.
EL blaze has more moves from lucha libre and they're at least as cool as Jaycee's one (just watch Blaze command throw on youtube), he's the perfect avatar of Rey mysterio !
Overhall, I think VF5 FS and TTT2 has equal animations quality, may be slightly better for VF (neutral stance, break throws are awesome for exemple). TTT2 has better graphics. About the art characters everybody should notice VF go better with the sequels (See how Akira getting badass, i like also how sega made Wolf and Jeffry more intimidating, recent newcomers like Goh or Jean has some nice appeals, etc.).
VF5 FS is a good step (more accessible play, some nice tweaks), with more content, better graphics/design i'm sure VF6 will gain the popularity it deserves ! (I'm more worried for SC6 and Doa6...)
I know Jaycee moves are a mix of bajiquan/xing yi/lucha libre styles, she's my main in tekken along with xiaoyu. I just compared the moves they share and as a player of both series (Vf since '94 and TK since '98) i can tell Tekken animations are more realistic. The thing that may confuse is the fast paced gameplay that is definitely less realistic than VF, but Namco's work with motion capture is the top and soul calibur proves it.
graphic wise, VF is always 5 years ahead its competitors.
@16 nobodys butthurt and all i stated was there is a reason why the graphics arent up to par. Are you the one butthurt because i cleared things up from your post? @18 NoizyChild making a statement as if it was a face when in actuallity its your opinion. I love watching VF matches and find them exciting however thats because i know how the game plays.
Just because you SUPPPOSEDLY tried some games out doesnt mean you know how they play which is the reason you dont enjoy watching the matches.
@masang this gen of gaming has been a bit anti climactic for me especially with the fighting games and the fg players are to blame for any crap that's put out from now on because we've settled for this standard. vf is the last fg thats gotten fire in my belly to play i'm just gonna play it. I'm worried about the quality of the games in the future because if gems/pandora/xfactor/netsu/boundjuggles/ thats just not good enough.
@28 Actually you seem pretty butthurt to me, especially considering that you cleared absolutely nothing from my comment and completely misread it, which is what most fools on this website seem to do <3
@24 I always get flack from butthurt fanboys that can realize the cold hard truth such as yourself :)
i'm a new player to vf i thinks it's a great game. i'm not butthurt i'm disappointed. your comments are hollow and show an uglier side to the fgc that's sometimes prevalent on these forums whilst u might deem more veteran players as butthurt you are just attacking people who love a particular game and simply want it to do well. you approach this from a point of higher ground but your not in the position you think your in. You always get flak because you go looking for it u'll get no pity from me. u don't even raise anything worth going into detail.
i'm calm but i'm not cool. it's not just games for me i've said what i gotta say. there's nothing wrong with a harmless troll now and again i just think whats going on with fighting games right now is important. if i wanted to read rash troll inciting opinions i can go to any sfxt thread.
