Mortal Kombat - Reptile a re-skin of Scorpion with both Scorpion and Sub-Zero's special moves initially

Reptile has made many appearances in a ton of Mortal Kombat games over the years, and a lot of people know of his origins that started in the original Mortal Kombat game as a secret character. On the Pit stage after seeing shadows fly across the moon, getting two flawless victories and performing a fatality, you would finally be taken into a fight against the elusive green ninja.

At the time, he was simply a re-color of Scorpion who had the special moves of both Sub-Zero and Scorpion. Additionally, you can find this version of Reptile in the new Mortal Kombat game from 2011.

Video from GameTrailers' series Pop Fiction.

Yes, you can fight against classic Reptile, Jade and Noob in MK9. They have the same abilities and are EXTREMELY hard to beat. Each give you a special trophy.

I should also point out the EH is mostly pointing out this secret was brought back in MK9, almost every fGC member over 25 should know the MK1 code

@ samuraix025

I heard if you beat MK9 on the hardest level and double perfect and fatality everyone AND then wave your PS3 arcade stick in a figure eight pattern in the air, then you unlock a battle against Ed boons eyebrows, and your smart phone automatically updates itself to Apple iOS 6...

...but the maps will still OCV you...

MK9 - a re-skin of MK 1-3 with dumb re-designs and SF system initially. Thankfully, almost everyone died in that game, so, hopefully, we'll see some awesome characters like Kira, Drahmin, Hsu Hao, and others in MK10.

If you can beat story mode and get a flawless victory on every battle you have to beat MEAT (who's got a move set that's a mix of Shang Tsung and Shao Khan and a pinch of their own moves) and MOCAP (Who's got the moveset of Ermac and noob saibot as well as their original moveset).

Reptile doesn't have all of their moves. In all versions he has spear and ice, but some versions have slide and some have teleport punch. The one in MK9 is based on MK1 arcade where he had spear, ice and slide. MK9 reptile uses his own slide with the slime/acid trail though.

Its also worth pointing out that the fights in MK9 include Smoke, and MK9 is the only official place to see Smoke, Noob and Ermac in MK1 outfits although Smoke's and Noob's are reserved for AI use only.

It's kinda like how Injustice is merely a less gory reskin of MK9.
