street fighter x tekken, ultimate street fighter x tekken...mvc3,umvc3
I like these changes but then again, a lot of characters were needlessly nerfed or just not changed in any significant way to make them useable in competition.
Vega comes to mind. No useable anti air, 1 frame cr.lp and a nerfed wall dive.
Like I said before, this update is great for the existing players but it isn;t going to draw back the players it lost or attract new players.
Finally bought the dlc characters yesterday, now just waiting for this patch.
"This is not the major announcement planned for the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary event."
why did you retract this statement along with this update? Was this the major announcement or not? because if it was, thats.... bs
I want to go back to this game but.. Are they going to release a disc version of the game where the DLC characters are unlocked already?
You'd think so.. As a way to get people back into the game.
#14 If you couldn't get this game when it was $15 bucks, then regardless of how they sell the dlc chars, I think you're doing something wrong.
Those characters shouldn't be the SOLE reason to not get the game after all this time. Initially? Yea. After all this apologizing and good-will hunting Capcom's done out of pure shame, regret, and lack-o-cash? Questionable.
# 15 & 16
I used to own the game, but I had to sell it at the time due to money issues (Had to rebuild my game library.)
That's why I was curious, but if it's that much then I don't mind that much.
I was alright with paying for on-disc stuff just because I wanted to support a 2D fighter with Lili xD...
OMG, so hyped! I still own, love, and play SFxT and these changes are going to be crazy, the game was good before, now it'll be great! I can hardly wait...
Why does it have to release at the END of January? v.v
Was this really the second special announcement? The entire SF25th Anniversary was a complete disappointment. Most SF fan are not hardcore or tournament players so having a massive tournament does not give us any excitement. The SF25th Anniversary Collection was geared towards new fan or overly obsess fans. Most fans already have all the 4 games and many, like myself, already had it on both system. So, I am not going to pay $150 for music and duplicate games. Capcom should have created a new game like they did for SF15th. I have been a long time supporter of Capcom but there recent actions is given me doubts. SF25th was not special to me.
@22 Well last time I checked theres more than 9 months in a year, and sfxt 2013 is out in jan. Also I always find pc players get really hung up about this stuff, when they should be happy they get support at all.
I like the changes, I still play the game regularly and I hope this really helps boost the games moral, because I still find great competition on SRK, I have participated in more streams and find matchs that have better connections and faster on SFxT than any other game. And I even went back to try SF4 and MvC3, I just can't play those games anymore, the online for them is just so bad, the community is not nearly as great to be a part of (maybe sf4) and SFxT hasn't stopped being great for me, why let others drag me down when I don't have a problem with the things other have problems with.
farr! tekken anti-air based moves are so good now!~ so fast!
yay for yoshi srk speed buff! hated not being able to anti-air with it!
dislike the throw speed and fight start thing though!~
loved starting off surprising my opponents with fast paced specials!
and throw speed...just dislike throws in general, lol
should/gonna be harder pressuring tekken characters from the air now!
JUST DONT REMOVE BACK JUMP STARS FOR RAVEN AND FIX PANDORA
@8 and 10: all signs are that the difference between pre patch and post patch SFxT is like the difference between AE and AE2012: the patch is more refinement than a revamp. There were still lots of timeouts during the exhibition at IPL. If you didn't like the game before the patch it's unlikely the patch will make you love it.
This is cool, cant wait for the patch. Will probably be dropping Juri though. Her nerfs have gone overboard.
Pandora is working as intended. Nothing to fix.
Every character and the whole game has been rebalanced so it's hard to say where every character lies on the tier list. I mean, who would have thought that Kuma would be this good until today.

Timeouts were always a playstyle issue. People play very passively and they don't maximize damage. Every SFxT match ends up looking like Justin Wong vs Snake Eyez for some reason. It doesn't makes sense when SFxT gives you so many more offensive options and damage is much higher. People rely on ABC combos that scale heavily and give a lot of recoverable health. Infiltration and Tokido were doing very crappy damage for the resources used. They should get more than 30% from a clean hit and 2 meters. And they give a lot of recoverable health. They just have good enough fundamentals that they can get away with it. The update is meant to discourage playing like this so that people are forced to play differently. Many tactics will become ineffective and they will be punished harsher. It's more like the MvC3 to UMvC3 removing the DHC glitch, allowing air X-Factor, and more TAC options. It completely changes the way game is played.
Glad to see they're making improvements to this and hopefully getting more people into it - I personally am not a strong enough player of SFxT to notice a lot of the problems but I look forward to reading the feedback of some more knowledgeable peeps.
Update the PC version to 1.07 at least dammit. -_-
@24 "when they should be happy they get support at all."
Aight, next time your console of choice doesn't get an update within 3-4 months of the others just be happy you get support at all. After all, you got the game for free and aren't a paying customer.
Seriously though, that kind of logic is absolutely stupid. If this was a charity sure, you should be happy to get anything. However people paid for SFxT, just because they aren't using the system of YOUR choice doesn't mean that they should be groveling to Capcom and thanking them for the ability to give them money. It is that kind of stupidity that is breeding on-disk DLC, secondary premiums (Battlefield/CoD elite stuff), broken games (Resident Evil:ORC) and other shady stuff. This isn't a charity, this isn't an act of altruism, it is a product you paid for and you should expect to receive quality and customer care.
PC users getting equal treatment to xbox/ps3 doesn't suddenly make the xbox/ps3 treatment worse. You are still free to play your game on your own console of choice, nobody is taking away your customer service because someone else expects equal or even acceptable levels of customer service.
I don't play Dudley but was an invincible super charge a tool that he really needed. Despite neither of my characters appearing in the Buff video, it will still be Elena and Marduk for me.
I don't mean this in a trolly kinda way but, I'd really suggest PC users didn't buy future Capcom FG titles. The lack of support isn't exactly new, you should have expected this.
were'nt they meant to sort the clock countdown to avoid the numerous timeout matches in the patch?
at the end, did mental alertness come out faster?
@39 I chose to play xbox, and since I pay for the service I generally never experience not being supported for updates and dlc, I make decisions behind the choices of game consoles and PC games that I buy, and I chose to buy fighting games for xbox because I know that consoles are the primary system for fighting games, I buy shooters for consoles because their the primary console for shooters, I bought diablo 3 and starcraft 2 and skyrim for PC because I know those games have great PC support and I can count on the developers to do so. Actually now that I think about it I had to go through the same bs you guys have to go through with every skyrim dlc (They all release late on PC and ps3) and I never really complained, my friends who had it on console would attempt to gloat they had it early, but I still didn't really care THAT much, I patiently waited, because I know how this whole thing works, they would have v2013 for SFxT on PC sooner, they would. So stop acting like they have the power, right now, to just magically make it come out at the same time as it does on consoles. Idn man if theres ever a time I have to wait for support for a game, like skyrim, I just accept the fact that its set and stone, and going online and pushing more negativity on the general SFxT community is not the first thing I am thinking of doing after I find out my PC SFxT isn't getting a patch as quickly as I would like. Just feel lucky they don't do what they did with skyrim, and just discontinue the dlc's to ps3, leaving them to root and feel like their console was the mistake.
@Gurpwnder
yeah I noticed that too. Also it looks like he was positioned a bit closer to the middle of the screen in the new version so they might have just messed up the linearity.
@EVERYONE
YEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!
PAUL FINALLY HAS WAKE UP MOVES. NO MORE SCREWING UP ONCE AND THEN NOT BEING ABLE TO FIGHT ANYMORE.....Now give him Super Armor, Capcom...
ò_ô
Don't like the fact that their making this game more sf4 rather than its own game. This game only needed was slower recoverable life speed, increase speed and damage output, no gem mode, and tweak the net-coding. Just disappointed, I actually like the game at its current form.
Chrome dome unblockable fully charged? that seems like it could be fairly abusable. Use hwoarangs qcb K move tag in heihachi and free unblocakble.
I liked how when they announced it last night, the comments in the stream were full of haters crying. All those tears and rage was funny to me.
The game needs a overhaul not a small time balance patch..go back to the drawing board
It's a subtle improvement that caters to those who already own and enjoy the game. I like the tweaks so far, but sadly it's not enough for me to pick up the game. It'd be nice if there were a filter for gems, pandora, quick combos from a gameplay perspective, and a filter for the art and audio design from an artistic perspective.
I'm not really a fan of the oil and Skittles themed visuals, the tin-trash-can-banging collision audio, and the techno themed soundtracks among other things...
At the end when they said "The Tekken Crew's Got Jump-Ins Too!" I think they meant to say anti-airs.
@32: Why every match in SFxT is Justin Wong vs Snake Eyez:
1) Long ass stage makes runaway tactics super easy and cornering opponents very difficult
2) Weak throws make the footsies game shallow and highly favorable to the jab mashers
3) Crossups purposely made weak, and made ever weaker by the patches
4) Zoning not very viable
5) Wakeup game made to be a lot more forgiving than SF4's vortex nightmare
6) Meters used for too many stuff, supers are not very useful, very few ways to make comebacks quickly
The new patch only promises to deal with 5) with the roll nerfs. Throws receive a marginal buff and is still weaker than most other fighting games. Zoning is now even weaker and the meter gain nerfs promises to make supers even less used. All these point to SFxT 2013 to still be Justin Wong vs Snake Eyez everytime.
@66
1) True.
2) Normal throw is not a footsies tool. You are probably referring to mix ups since you mention jabs as well. Mix ups are not as varied as other games but the footsies are amazing. Also, jabs pressure hasn't been an issue for a while now.
3) Tatsumaki and Falcon Kick were amazing crossup tools before the nerfs. Anyway, version 2013 will give more viable characters cross up and also make crossup stronger as people aren't going to roll as much with the roll nerf.
4) Considering how good Dhalsim and Jack-X are, zoning is very much viable. I don't see this changing in the new version.
5) Rolls in 2012 favored the player on defence but in 2013 they will favor the player on offence.
6) Contrary to what most people think, supers and tag supers get more useful the less time there is on the clock because they deal unrecoverable damage as can be seen at San Francisco. Anyway, with the health recovery nerf in the new version, ending games with super will be a lot more common.
6.5) Imagine how hard it is for a player to gain a substantial life lead over the opponent. Now, imagine all that work undone because of one move/combo in a fraction of the time. That's what comeback mechanics do.
To cut a long story short, there are more than one way to view the current SFxT, the new 2013 version and even Justin vs Snake. IMHO, it probably isn't perfect right now but it will be a lot better in the new version. I just hope SFxT's amazing footsies game will still be intact.
Peace.
I will not buy another copy for my xbox360, i already purchased the pc version and still stuck in patch 1.01 :(
@67 There's nothing amazing about SFxT's footsie game. Standing jabs & chain normals that are safe up to mp/mk (at least until the patch) make the footsie game a joke.
cant bloody wait! this patch looks like what the game needed to take it that next step, current build is pretty good and a lot of fun, but it needed a balance check, reading the notes so far it seems like it will be a complete game, well done capcom
The dodge change makes since for dudley! Looks good for some matchups, but i assume it's not invincible for lows =( Dudley will never have something to counter lows.
Also, those AA from tekken look a bit strong, like Cody's st.mp... i did not see any trades, and they look to have lots of priority for being non EX. Also whats whith Christie AA hitting behind her head. I hate those types of anti airs. Hopefully these AA's dont have a stupid hit box all over the place and a well space safe/empty jump should beat bait and punish these.
