Is this game even worth getting? I have a bunch of other fighters on my vita, but DOA hasn't been in my life since it was a launch title for the XBOX1. I did have some fun poking people with that one chick who is always poking you, but aside from that I don't have any clue who the characters are and what this game plays like.
So is this new installment any good?

Its noticeably better then DoA 4 which was a garbage fighter. The game is not for everyone though so my best suggestion is rent it off Redbox or something and see if it clicks for you. Game plays different then Tekken so take that how you will
Article needs to be updated since those are not Vita Screenshots that #10 have pointed out.
Ahahaha, the Vita isn't THAT powerful to handle those kind of graphics in 60 fps in a handheld. Also what the heck is up with the Vita getting alot of ported fighters? Is it that bad to not get a good IP out there for the thing, because nothing impressed me in its library, just ports of consoles fighters and remakes of ps2 games with alot more stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if they make a P4 Arena for it.
I know the team who made DOA is psyched for hearing fan feedback at all cost, but since when did people want a DOA Vita version? I heard a couple thousands of fans wanting it for Wii U hopping to put in Samus Aran, which is totally awesome!

Ports are good for training on the go in my opinion. I'm not at home much during the day so it's great for me to practice combos on UMVC3 and SFxT and learn new synergy with my teams. I'm a stick user on consoles but the D-Pad and Analog are actually pretty great on the vita and didn't take long for me to get used to. Ports are a great way to stay updated with the scene. I didn't like DoA Dimensions or SSFIV on the the 3DS at all.
@12 - Honestly, I prefer playing the fighters on the Vita a lot more than I do on my PS3, which I've barely touched in months. I'm no hardcore player, so being able to play the games right off as opposed to finagling with wires and switching stuff on and off to play on console has been a big plus. Plus the d-pad is amazing.
I'd love to see KOF come to the Vita, too, personally.
@14 Yeah I bet you do train your Bajiquan on the go.... HEYOOOOOO!!! (joke)
These are not new screem shots. These are the screen shots from the Console versions of the game. I have seen all of them during the release trailers of the non-vita version.
#7: Definately not worth buying. Renting perhaps but buying not at all. Everything is extremely streamlined and there is pretty much no wow factor to the game, not even the music.
Cool. Tho I don't play handhelds. I only got a DS for the Pokemon games.
But hopefully the best features of this will be patched on the console version. :)
