MLG announces exhibition tournaments for Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown and Skullgirls at MLG Summer Championships The MLG Summer Championship coming August 24-26 in Raleigh, North Carolina will feature two exhibition tournaments for Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown and Skullgirls.

No details for the Skullgirls tournament were listed but all the information for the Virtua Fighter 5 tournament was posted.

• The expo tournament will be held all day Friday and Saturday

• There's $2,000 on the line

• Anyone with a Raleigh Spectator Pass or Competitor Pass can participate

• Play in B-o-3 matches, winner stays at the station till they're defeated. Re-enter as often as you like

• On Saturday, the players with the two longest streaks will play in the Finals on the Fighting Games Main Stage

• The Finals will be broadcast live!

Most importantly it seems MLG is definitely interested in bringing more fighting games onto their circuit and this could potentially be a way of testing the waters.

The spectator pass and competitor pass are to enter the venue. I imagine there's other passes such as press and/or staff though.

Smart move for MikeZ, because the only way his crap game will still get played is if some company dumps a bunch of money on it.

No jokes. KoF brought a total of 28 competitors in SoCal. If MLG can't pull more than 28 in Anaheim, a supposed hot bed for KoF players, then they're not going to get anyone to show up anywhere else. Soul Calibur has brought in about 75 each event, and MK9 over 80.
