New Blazblue sequel "Chrono Phantasma" to hit arcades this winter 2012

Was hoping for Jubei, but I'm hype anyways

This game will be dead on arrival in America. P4U bodied BB in Japan in only a few weeks and BB never got anywhere close to the success P4u achieved in arcades so it wont affect P4U either.

The only character they didn't mention in the trailer is my main, Nu13/Lambda11, what the hell ArcSys?? I got so excited about the announcement, now feel absolutely gutted.

Normal that Lambda wasn't there. She's dead. Anything left of her got absorbed into/are now part of Ragna.

Looking at the end of the trailer, I'm worried we may have an "Arcana Heart 3" styled boss fight against a giant robot...oh man...

So wait. I'm not all that familiar with BlazBlue, I'm just curious. This looks extremely similar to the game I played a year ago. What changes so much between games that keeps people from freaking out like they do for games like Super Street Fighter IV and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3? Does the whole gameplay system change?

But anyway, those three characters are perfect. This is dfinitely the most Japanese fighting game out there.

These Japanese still play games like Guilty Gear, Melty Blood and Aquapazza so this game is gonna be no different.
Japan don't give a **** about America anyways, they just let us have Marvel and call it day.

Small system changes and a whole new story from what I hear. This series never made a leap like SF3 to SF4 but rather it seems to be like Tekken.

@6 It's not like ASW just to remove a character from the roster completely due to story line (with the early exceptions of Kliff and Justice) so I'm pretty sad that they just wiped the Murakumos off the cast completely.

Fingers crossed Nu is a boss character.

Actually they already said they would make some real changes to the system, for example, the burst looks more like the GG, P4A burst that recovers as the match goes along after use, the meter bar is now devided into segments, indicating some kind of EX moves, also theres no Guard Primers as well, there seems to be a couple of other changes we havent seen as well.

@2 Japan doesn't just play the most recent fighters. the still play games like Hnk, Guilty Gear, JoJo, 3S and plenty of others for years ago. We can learn a thing or two from them.

Anyway, Blazblue was the first fighter I really learned so this game will always have a special place in my heart. Really hype for this.

Why in every article people are calling the new girl "Barret" when in the trailer it's clearly written Bullet?

Man BlazBlue Calamity Trigger was my favourite FG on PC. :/ Too bad they aren't realeasing any more of them here cause it sold poorly. The game might be a niche but ARC also MAJORLY screwed up on almost every aspect of the game while porting so it's also their fault. I really wish they gave PC a second chance. -_-

I'm hype for the game, I believe they will make some DLC characters as Jubei and Kokonoe since people keep asking them. For me Amane with the 2 current characters got my money. Tsubaki look sick, they said that she is in Dark side mode.

They didn't show Mu-12 or Lambda 11... that's a bit disheartening. I'm sure they'll be in though. Perhaps they're only showing those characters that will be in story mode?

The new characters are looking pretty sweet,as well as some of the existing cast's design and movesets.a little worried though since this game getting announced might mean the death of P4a:(,we"ll see what happens though.

Don't care for Kokonoe, but Jubei is a must! Blown away that they've not yet added him.

On another note, it looks like the "boobie-lady" crown has now passed from Litchi, to Makoto and finally to Bullet. Those things look like G-cups.

The trailer itself is pretty bad, kills the little hype I have for this anyways.

I'm surprised they announced this so soon after P4A. Considering the general similarity between Arc System Works' fighting games, you'd think they would be worried about their titles cannibalizing each other in the market.

Bullet shall be added to my list of mains, along with Noel, Makoto, and Jin. Also, so glad Noel can finally let that pretty hair down :)

Normally, I'm not hyped for BB because I only played that thing to help me improve my overall execution and reactions, but I definitely loved its story. However, since I'm getting P4U and I'm gonna be playing my butt off on it, I might pick up this BB since they are similar in fundamentals and reactions.

Last time I played BB, I played Noel (loved her guns and the beret), but I'm interested in playing Azrael and Bullet.

The only thing I'm saddened about is that this game does not have a strong U.S. BB community and I get the feeling this game will die in less than a month if it reaches the U.S. I guess it's all the more reason to find others who are into this game online. Still, I hope Arcsys finds a way for BB to appeal to the U.S. just like how P4U did.

Why do they love only adding three new character? It's goes 3,3,1, and now 3 more. Extra credit if you can name all the new characters in order. Hint the second 3 were all dlc.

Example:
-New HUD
-No guard primers, or guard guage
-Burst seems to work similar to GG/P4A

WOW Noel's redesign is ****ing horrible. She literally looks like a ****in hooker and not an attractive one. I'm usually not one to complain about character designs at all but that is god ****in awful.

I love BlazBlue but people really don't give Arc the reaction they should for how often they release updates to the game, the price of them, and the minimal changes that happen with them. Capcom isn't half as bad as Arc when it comes to these updates. This shouldn't be more than $20.

Man this made my day, so getting this and playing with Bullet and as for Jubei not being in the roster. I think Arcsys made do some were they add a him to the console version (like with Mu-12) and if that doesn't work there is always hope for DLC.

Anyway glad i didn't follow the Extend Scam (although its pretty much guaranteed they will probably do "Chrono Phantasma II or another Extend for this game) but at least the game looks different now to an extend and is last chapter of BB series. Only noticed Noel looking drastically different at first glance (she does looks better with the long hair and no beret though)

BB series is still least arc sys favorite (mostly because i can't stand the aesthetics and characters) compared to GG and P4U, but glad this 3rd game is taking more elements from those games like there burst for example.

I like Noel's new look a lot. I always disliked the beret. That's Cammy's trademark! I like the holsters for her guns on her lower-back.

The only thing I dislike is the tie.

This is a game about smoke, mirrors, belts, flashy hit effects designed to blind you and every possible anime troupe in the book.

Haven't bought a BB game since Continuum Shift, and didn't buy any of the characters, so I will be investing in the home version of this. Whole bunch of new stages and a bunch of new characters I haven't played looks very enticing.

All 3 of ASW's fighters are in the Top 10, and with Guilty Gear's new revision due, and a new BlazBlue entry, I think they are gonna be there to stay for awhile.

What the heck is "BBC"? Last I checked the first game was "Blazblue Calamity Trigger" or "BBCT". Then the second game was "Continuum Shift" or "BBCS". Extend or "BBCS:EX" came after that with "Continuum Shift 2" being a free downloadable patch stuck between CS and Extend. Please do some research before you talk about a game.

THIS is why the Blazblue community is DEAD. There's a new Blazblue every YEAR, they aren't giving the community time to adapt. Because a game comes out for a few months, and BAM the new version is announced! Because then you have to learn the matchups and characters and all that jazz. And then ontop of that.. all the Japanese players that were Blazblue players are now Persona 4 Arena players.

What is the point of playing Blazblue anymore when a new version comes out ever year being recycled like an EA Sports product? *sigh*

Please let fighting games evolve on there own before making a new one.

The thing with this BlazBlue is that it's a legit story-sequel. People complained about BBCS going to BBCS:EX due to how Extend made CS and even CT entirely obsolete at the time because it was an expansion. BB:Chrono Phantasma is looking to be a direct story sequel to the series. Some characters seemed to have changed (Noel and Tsubaki, with Tsubaki wearing the outfit she wore at the ending of CS's story), everyone seems to have new moves, we're getting three new characters introduced, and even the beginning of the trailer acknowledges that this is the official "third" game of the series. Continuum Shift Extend got its flak in the past, but that shouldn't transfer over to the next legitimate sequel to the franchise.

Cool, I'll probably get this game when it hits consoles instead of P4U. Imo, P4U is more of a side project that. Most of the sales are probably deriving from Persona fans.

And if this really is the conclusion of the BB storyline, I'd like to experience it first hand.

And people bitch about Capcom.

damn this game gets more and more animu with every iteration. but really its about damn time. i skipped out on extend cuz one char is such a waste of money. very interested in the story though so definitely picking this one up. new char look wack though. more interested to see what they gave the oldies

I know right?! I mean, sure jojo is a big franchise in japan and sure people at game summer fest were hype with the official announcement, but hell no! Capcom should also give a f*ck about its american/european market even when they're at an event held outside their turf because, you know, We're the center of the world and everyone should be paying attention to us [/sarcasm]

On the other hand im really interested for this sequel, mostly because its the conclusion to an already interesting storyline. I was in full "f*ck this sh*t mode" when BB got sequelitis, but this game actually looks like a step forward.

And it makes me wonder: when the f*ck are they gonna conclude guilty gear's story? It might take a good while now that they're ending BB. That sucks :/
