Capcom is lucky they haven't announced anything for the $500k anniversary. They should pull a chunk out of that for EVO.

Great news all around though. I love playing MK and. while I havent played a Virtua FIghter since VF4, I am pumped for this Update.

Hopefully these big pots will help convert Capcom players to some different, but still fun games.

I need to get Lau and Jacky ready, and I think I need to pay VF3 a visit...

I think EVO and other major tournaments have to stretch out more days for games because they are a lot for fighting games that deserves the limelight. As for Sega, good job investing money to the community instead of marketing ads that might miss your target audience. EVO is the place for fighting game enthusiast and good job in making the pot substantial.

As for Capcom, however, who knows they might put $500,000 as the pot money for Street Fighter X Tekken..since they are dying for consumer adoptions.

Awesome, hope it brings in the VF gods from the asian countries. Definitely gives much more reason for Fuudo and Itazan to make it out.

To be honest, the 25th SF anniversary should be celebrated, but Capcom really should reward the long time fans, hardcore or casual all together with something not just putting a high reward in tournaments where only the best of the best could win it. Some unique merchandise at a good price or special in game bonus like flashing gold or diamond title card, bonus costumes, stuff like that is what I like to have.

cuz a big pot doesn't make the game more fun, it just makes it a chore if u want the cash

Hey guys, I know no one has pointed this out, but please stop comparing other games to Capcom. It's gotten old and pretty annoying.

If Capcom doesn't announce anything for EVO, the perception that Capcom is cheap will only increase.

@ Smorgasboard

Watch IPW's streams on VF5 Final Showdown. I believe Denkai or Adam Yuku based on one of my friends said.

capcom has always been stingy at not giving money for tournaments. Its just how they run things. They don't care about who the best players are, they just want games and DLC sold. As said by #8, 99.999% of the community does not benefit from money to prize pools so 10 or so players can win money.

Adam Yuku was the dude I met at WCG when he represented US. He came 2nd iirc, losing to Itazan (Itabashi Zangief) and I think Tetra from Singapore. Pretty legit.

VF5 (not final showdown) was the game which got me re-interested back into fighting games when there was drought. This is good news, hopefully it will get people very interested in their game as it seems always forgotten when greatest fighting series are mentioned.

VF seems like a simplified fighter due to its 3 buttons and simple combos but its really not, very far from it. Its actually one of the only game and series which i can say is open to anyone from casual to very high level.

But yeah VF is one of the greatest ever, and it will be an amazing stream to watch high level VF

Oh man, I hope this drums up more interest in the series. only just got around to (ver.C) VF5 last month, but it's super great. Tekken 6 at EVO seems to be nothing but Bob, Law, and Steve (with one Bryan), so I hope we see some character variety.

For VF5? People still go hard on that game? I doubt it. There will be many players dusting that game for practice at EVO.

Man its so good 2 hear that Vf5fs is coming 2 evo. But, I still wish they could have given some release date information and a price. I guess I'm just ready 2 hit the lab with it ASAP.

The thing I hate about this is that a lot of pro players already have access/have gotten to play it... going to be an uphill battle for people who haven't had exposure to it -- even if they are experienced with VF5.
