I was gonna go to this till I found out it was in Virginia.

I just tuned in and heard that Evo 2012 is Spooky's last stream, he's "tired of this $h!t" & Twitch.tv "has won". Anyone know what the story is on what happened, or at least what was the deciding factor for why he's leaving streaming. I missed the beginning of the stream, sadly...

Tech issues, long hours, delays in tournament schedules, mad travel, and thankless work (when you factor in complaining stream monsters and low financial returns), can add up over time. My hat's off to Spooky for all the work he's done, and I'm really sad to hear he's retiring. I hope he changes his mind, but it already sounds set.

Also, IRC is a hundred times better than twitch chat. But I guess you trolls never really cared about the streams, you just wanna act like an idiot in the chat.

I highly doubt the stream monsters are responsible for spooky deciding to take a break.

It does how ever not take away from the fact that the stream trolls are utterly pathetic and they take away from the normal viewers enjoyment.

chris g is becoming the best player in the world real talk. for the last 2 years hes emerged from justins shadow to become a brand of his own. i wanna see him against over seas competition cause nobody messin with him on the east. he may run into problems on this west coast but even then he'd give the wests' best a fight. just wow!

Other than Marvel vs Wesker the overall character diversity and player style diversity is pretty wide among all of the games. Pretty cool.

ChrisG still make up 8 at multiple games in the WC. Even J wong got random out in the EC somethings like Final Round, Season's beating.

I don't get people who say Chris G gets blown up every time he goes to west coast because 1. He's only been there like once(not counting evo) and 2. At NCR he got 3rd place in KOF which is supposed to be their game and beat them all at SFxT. So he had a bad day in Marvel big whoop.

Basically, you can't say he gets owned if the sample size is extremely small. Chris is an adapter, give him a fraction of the experience as the others get and I'm sure he'll raise to the top.

On the WC, ChrisG is ChrisFree. All this shows is the level of EC competition after the top players bailed out.

Well done to Dieminion who seems to be winning or getting to finals a lot with his Guile (I love to watch high class Guile play).

I think Dieminion will have a very good run at EVO this year and will be very tough to beat.

I hope that one day I will be able to watch him play ACE E I RI N (what a match that would be).

That would be a campers sleepfest.........Guile has the most boring play style in SF history and the only thing worse than one guile is two guiles.

I'm kind of curious as to what people are basing these "Chris G gets blown up when he plays WCers" statements on. I mean, everybody loses, especially in Marvel, even Justin.`And the game is so stacked with killers now with different tech that getting Top 8 in a major at that game is like navigating a minefield.

Where was it again that he finished at Final Round? 5th? Oh yeah, but it was that damn WEST COAST player Mihe who eliminated him, right?

If Infiltration in SFxT and Kusoru in UMVC3 are any indication, lame players with great fundamentals and metagame on the American side are going to be especially crucial at EVO this year. That means guys like Chris G and Justin Wong. West Coast rushdown is awesome, but re-watch the grand finals at Final Round again. Americans still have a lot more to learn at Marvel. Rush down and top tier characters will lose to a good team with a good understanding of the technology.

Also, regardless of what the charts say, I think Guile loses hard to Seth, Viper, Fei, and Yun and Dieminion will be seeing quite a few of the very best players of those characters. I'd like to see him, or really any character in that tier, making top 8, but I don't think it's a smart money bet.

this tourney was pretty hype even after spooky dropped that news on day 1 . even MK9 GF's were hype (5 babality's wtf)

Why does Own3d Suck ? The video quality is better than twitch, the chat works and dosn't lag the stream and the archive is no different to twitch.

Only difference is emoticons and if you stop watching a stream because of that then you need to change your hobby.
