It's a shame that ShinKensou has been handling the streaming duties alone thus far. Don't know what Planet Zero are doing but the stream had been dead all day.

Is there a schedule or anything for this tourney? With all these B rated games involved im not gonna watch this whole tourney. Just times for UMVC3 if anything.

Thanks.

This stream is a disaster. game cam only, no player cam, no commentator cam, no crowd cam. PZ stream doesnt even work. how are people supposed to capture the essence of the event if they cant be fully engaged. all i see is mk9 all day. COME on, we want to see capcom games, especially texas marvel. PZ doesnt give a crap about the FGC, 1 set up for marvel? pitiful.

ShinKensou had one of the worst streams for an FGC tourney I've seen so far, but blaming it all on the stream wouldn't be fair. Texas Showdown itself had little to no care for the schedule and roundups. Except for some players (Mihe, Money, Ricky), there was no hype for any of the games. I'm even surprised this badly organized and mediocre tourney is an EVO qualifier

@14

Speaking of dick sucking...the commentator of ShinKensou stream had been telling stream monsters to "eat a dick" repeatedly.

"eat a dick! eat a dick if you don't like the commentary! eat a dick!"

WOW~!!!

Went 0-2 in top 32, just thought I'd share that. I wasn't very happy. I ran into a Crow, barely lost, and then a spammer Blanka player. I guess Guy can't win majors! :( I tried so hard guys, I apologize!

Is anyone else kind of outraged that the Cannon brothers are so eager to clamp down on WNF to save their reputation after what 2 commentators said, but they probably wouldn't do the same when PZ gives us the worst tourney ever?

And this is a "Road to Evo" tournament?! Pathetic! Once again free 'Evo seeding points' for american "top" players...

Big Two and WNF are more hype and well organized than this "major" tournament ever intended to be.

@21

Well, free seeding points or not... won't mean a damn thing until they win that elusive SF4AE title for America.

three years and not a single first place, and when there's at least 9:1 ratio of Americans vs. Non-Americans.

After watching ToPanga Chairty cup, man... the average skill level is almost night and day between America and Japan. Our top top players can just about hang with their regular arcade goers.

Win that 1st place America, before the world ends! Or else, extraterrestrials from the Orion belt will be taking that 1st place at EVO 2013 galactic championship series (I heard little grey aliens are super HYPED for Street Fighter).

Lol. Yup. Stay free America. Prime example of why is the hate sf x tekken is getting. Japanese are already playing the game the way it's supposed to be played and winning. From seeing the Japanese videos, u are not supposed to let the opponent tag out. What are we americans doing? Crying like babies. Lol

Why don't some of you guys come to majors and show every American how AE2012/UMvC3/SFxT should be played? You speak as if you have already mastered the Japanese way to fighting games and will have no problem defeating J Wong on stream.

LOL @ "u are not supposed to let the opponent tag out"

OMG NO WAI! Game solved. Because I was just letting opponents tag in and out without punishing at all. Well this changes everything. EVO2K12, here I come!

As long as matches are close, I really don't care who wins. Yeah, Fuudo beat Latif pretty handily in the finals, but other than that, it was a damn good EVO for Street Fighter fans. Don't get me wrong, I had people I rooted for, but as long as it was entertaining, I don't care if Japan, Korea, or America wins. I'm not going to live my life by what nationality dominates a fighting game, no matter how much I love it.

#26 "Stay free America"

Whatever happened to Daigo and Tokido in Marvel? Weren't they supposed to be bringing their dominant play style to MvC3 at EVO? What happened? Come to think of it, what game over than AE did Japan even do well in at EVO 2011? The next best game was Tokido getting third in BBCS2. Other than Tokido, no one from Japan placed Top 8 in any game outside of Street Fighter.

Japan is awesome at Street Fighter. There is no denying that. However, some people make it sound like they rule over fighting games, and they don't. At all.

BaBaFan said on April 10, 2012 at 12:03 a.m.

@NWAndroid
Believe it or not Tokido is not a top Tekken or Blazblue player. He's not in the top 16 for either of those games nor does he take those games seriously, yet everytime he comes to the US he either wins or makes top 8. That should tell you something.

Real talk: If it wasn't just the top Japanese Street Fighter players coming to EVO we'd be seeing similar results for all the games, except for Mahval of course.

It's just too bad none of the other games ever have a big enough prize pot for the top non-streetfighter players to consider coming over to the US.
