Haunts from iPlayWinner sent in an email with some replays from the SouthTown Arcade ranbats season 3 finales of both Capcom vs. SNK 2 and Virtua Fighter 5.

With CvS2 being my first fighting game I took seriously, I really do enjoy watching these matches. Leezy, LionX, MrWarzard and the other NorCal players are fun to watch.

After the jump there is footage from the recent 35th Game Spot Versus Street Fighter 3 Third Strike East vs. West war featuring players like Kuroda, Jiro and more.

TheShend has also recently uploaded footage from The 35th East Vs. West War held on March 15, 2012 at the Game Spot Versus Arcade in Tokyo. There are some notable players here such as Kuroda, Jiro and more.

@3, that's right, fighting games began and ended with the game ruled by 2.5 characters and 100% damage combos, and one that required a system violating glitch to become popular. Truly, it was a blessed age.

You talking about glitches and 100% combos? lol last time I saw sfxt and Marvel has just as much glitches and infinites as any other games, and that was made like 10 years after with better technologies in gaming designs. So your sarcasm doesn't hold too much weight here.

So refreshing to see CVS2 and 3rd Strike videos on the site. Those games were everything back on the day. I remember having a good time everytime I put one of those two on my Dreamcast and having a couple of friends and my brothers in a playing night to kick them all the way out hahaha. Good times.

I loved the CVS2 vids. I joined the fgc in late 09, so I never played cvs2 seriously, but this is making want to learn the game. Too bad I don't have an arcade stick for my ps2 :/

My point was/is, nothings changed. The games of the golden age trolls typically champion were just as broken if not more than most released nowadays.

Sorry but 3s & mvc2 were WAY more broken than anything out now.the infinites,ToD's and otherwise abusable stuff found in 3s & mvc2 (more mvc2) made 80 - 90% of their respective cases unusable. None of the games out today suffer from this issue.
